[Q] Font Sizes - HTC Sensation

Does anyone know how to change fonts and/or font sizes? This is an easy task in the Galaxy S but I cannot find the option anywhere. My old eyes are really struggling with the Sensation's font size. Might be a deal killer. Thanks for any help....
p.s. i 've found ways to make font size changes when viewing an email or using the internet but I am more concerned with the default Android font.....too damn small!

You could try the spare parts app. I can't guarantee it would work, but from what I remember, you could set the font to one of like 7 or 9 sizes from the app that was available in CM versions. Not sure if you could just install that .apk though?

I got to the office today and compared the Sensation's font with an Evo 4G. HTC's thinking makes no sense. For example, the EVO 4G's contact list is infinitely more readable despite the Sensation's larger screen!!! The font is so small that it is useless to even use pictures because they are not viewable for practical purposes.....just a blob of color.

The font is probably the same size but since the Sensation has a higher resolution it will look smaller. Sensation has a higher DPI than any WVGA phone

curious also how you can change the system/default font on the Sensation

I'd like to know this too, especially for the Sensation's e-mail client (Sense). I've tried using both HTML and Plain text formats but as soon as you send an e-mail - which you're copied on and then check the results you get crappy size 12 "Times New Roman" font.
It looks crap HTC, does anyone have a solution... ?
Please.
MMB.

answered MANY times before, not until rooted can you use LCD density

Ok.
For me, I'm not too bothered about the font size or screen 'real-estate', I'm actually interested in having a solution that alows me to choose my font type in the e-mail client because frankly it looks crappy and unprofessional.
MMB.

i actually prefer the font size for this fone, when i held it next to my HD2, the difference was MASSIVE, for the HD2 the density was set to 160, and on the sensation, it seems to be around 180 or 190, but with the higher res, the text looks crisp, especially in gmail and websites

Wallpaper size... something weird going on here?

Hi guys,
So I was hunting around to figure out what the wallpaper size is for the Nexus One... most people seem to state it is 960x800, or 2 times wider than the standard 480 resolution.
I did a test to see how it would look on the device by creating a 960x800 image with red vertical lines every 192 pixels (which will divide it horizontally 5 times to match with the 5 home screens on the N1). Much to my dismay, it actually renders it differently (showing almost 3 of the 192px blocks on the center screen).
When swiping back and forth, it seems like there is some sort of parallax scrolling going on. You can see a full screen of apps/widgets (480px wide) scroll to the side, but you will see the background move some other amount of pixels. It's almost as though the background is scaled in some fashion horizontally. I was assuming it would somehow work like the home screens on the N900, where each screen has 1 block of 800x480 wallpaper space...
Anyone have some insight into what is going on here?

I'm not exactly sure what resolution the backgrounds are, but the "parallax scrolling" has been used in Android since the G1.
If you pick an off-sized background, the OS will tell you to crop it, and the height width ratio is almost square. Anyway, each panel of the home screen will share a bit of the background with the adjacent home screens.
Yup, each homscreens background overlaps with the ones on either side of it.
I believe the correct resolution for the N1 is 960x854
The resolution should be 960x800, because the Nexus is not the droid, it's 800 pixels not 854.
And for there to be 5 home screens on 960 wide, it's only going to scroll 1/5th of the image on each home screen. The parallax scrolling is a cool feature.
Of course it's going to show almost 3 of the 192px blocks on the center screen, because the center screen is 480px wide.
960x800 is correct. Additionally, you could've sorted this quickly by pulling the Launcher2.apk from /system/app, then extracting it and checking the size of the default wallpapers.
So here is another question. Does anyone think its possible to change the scrolling of the background (and size) such that it would be 1 480x800 size block PER home screen?

When I had my g1 the Photoshop app would set wallpapers without asking for cropping even 480x800 so I would use iPhone wallpapers cause we allow know most Mac useres are have some skill in graphics design. Anywho when I tried to use this work around on my nexus it did not work, I'm looking further into this!

Came across this. I want to disable scrolling on the background wallpaper too and have a static image. Any updates?
Wallpaper Set & Save is a basic free app from the market that works wonders with hi-res and off-sized images...
Me too
Also having issues with this
Only using one homescreen...and the settings either zooms or stretches the HOMEMADE wallpapers

Yes, you absolutely need this app if you want to change your wallpaper, the built-in gallery just doesn't work.
Wallpaper Set & Save
downloaded, tried...no luck
Yea, it didnt work for me either. I formated some images to 480x800, but it just zooms in on them. Cant believe something so damn simple is so tough.
Guys, I found a solution. It is called Wallpaper Plus. Yes it is $1.99, but it is worth it. Not only can you do 1 static image with no scrolling, it will also let you pick images and "sew them together such that each screen is a different image! So right now I have 5 pictures that I choose, that the program formatted for the size of my screen and stitched together. Now when I scroll through my screens, I see a different image on each one, rather than one large image. But like I said, it can do just one static image as well! I highly recommend. I know the cost sucks, but at some time we need to support these developers making the things we want for our phones if they are gonna stay on the platform and develop more things!

Visually Impaired

Is there a CAB to enlarge text for the HD2 for the visually impaired?
Googled, but could not find free CABs.
Thanks
Hi,
I know the following is a workaround and does not directly answer your question, but...
1/ Different fonts display at different sizes, for example Calibri is smaller than Segoe, you could try a larger one.
2/ You can increase the size of much of the text across your phone through settings.
3/ For applications which have font that you cannot resize, you may want to enable pinch to zoom (Zooomer or equivalent).
I'm using SPB Shell 3.5. Pinch to zoom does not seem to work in the HTC message. Have tried changing fonts but still too tiny for me to read, and font size have already been adjusted to the maximum size.
Thank you for your suggestions.
In dire straits, looking for a cab or app to help me read my messages and emails.
Thanks.
edit:- FaceBook and YouTube are fine, I'm able to pinch and zoom. But can't in messages and emails.

I too have ditched sense and gone back to Spb MS. The text in HTC Sense Sms is eye straining. It baffles me why it's so small on such a big screen. When I had the Touch Diamond a while back I was frustrated with the big text on such a small phone.
If you use SPB MS it should default to the native windows messaging app. If you increase the text in e-mail by clicking on menu -> -view -> text size -> , whatever size you choose should also reflect in the default sms app also.
rant: It amazes me that with all the million and one customizations on Xda no one has figured out/ or interested find a reg edit or something that would help increase the font in the HTC Sense sms app.
Back in the days before HTC released Sense there were a million and one ways to modify and change the fonts (enlarge/reduce) in all aspects of the windows OS.
It seems creativity has died with HTC Sense, it's all mods, mods and mods.
Sorry for my rant but do we need to create a bounty for anyone who can find a way to increase the font size in the HTC Sense app.

Wallpaper help

hi everyone.
well im trying to make a text background using adobe illustrator and when i make a new document in illustrator i put 960 x 800 pixels and when i export it, it comes out way bigger than that size..idk why. im good with this kinda stuff but i cant figure out why it comes out so much bigger that the size i picked. any recommended sizes or settings i should put so it can fit perfectly as a wallpaper ?
resolution should be 72px, that would be my guess.

Bigger text in menus etc? Possible?

Hi all,
I would like to buy a Transformer. It looks great.
But I have a problem with my eyesight. I am short sighted and therefore need everything bigger on the screen. Be bigger I mean I use 4 times magnification on my laptop screen. Everything means everything: icons, menus, text, everything.
Is it possible? How?
Thanks in advance.
The guy at my local shop mentioned using a different theme or skin? Would that be the answer? Thoughts?
hi,
i own a transformer and i'm looking for a way to change font and/or icon size too. not for me but me wife is visually impaired and needs a working screen magnifier to use the tablet.
i did a lot of research in the internet but until now i haven't found a solution.
theer are serverl apps for mobile devices (spare parts, lcd densitiy, etc.) but none of them seems to work as supposed on the transformer.
so i think until now there is no way to do what we are looking for. but if you fid a solution please let me know.
With adw ex i know you can change the icon size and the font size for the icons.

[Q] Increase font size in messages WP 7.8 in Lumia 510

Hi, I bought for my mom this phone, because it`s simple and easy to use. Screen is big enough, but I never thought that will be a problem with font size, especially in messages where font is tiny.
I just found old threads without solution and new about WP 8 where is menu Easy of access to change font size.
Please give me any advice what should I do, otherwise i will be force to change this phone.
P.S.
Almost in all old phone models is something to change font size where screen is small and one word is on whole screen.
Microsoft is the biggest IT company with windows mobile system history and just forget something like this? Ridiculous
This is even discrimination for people with disabilities like for people with poor but usable vision
Please, someone tell me that i`ve been wrong about this and i just can`t find where font size is changing and just I`m blind...
