The first thing I did (still in the store) was install Launcher Pro. Hoping they put a better skin on the officialVerizon Gingerbread release, or I'm sticking to Launcher Pro. I'd rather not since the phone seems to have very little available memory out of the 512MB RAM, which seems odd to me...
I'm fairly new to the custom ROMs and I apologize for the newbie question. What makes CM7 the ROM to have?

It's the purest form of android, free from any carrier/oem crap (except for necessary google apps like market obviously)... this also makes it a stable, fast, and 'lightweight' rom which means less system usage for the rom, custom kernels specifically for your phone, and more options and speed/audio/video/theme tweaks than you can shake a stick at lol
also once its finished and more or less all the bugs are worked out, devs can submit it to CyanogenMod to merge it in the mainline CM 'tree' so the coding bots can get to work cranking out nightlies (nightly rom updates)

The purest forum of Android is Vanilla AOSP. CM7 is desirable as it has a lot of unique customizations that improve usability and functionality, without adding a bunch of useless crap (though there are still features people won't use).

CM7 is essentially AOSP with some additional features and UI enhancements and whatnot, but at it's core it's AOSP from what i know. same with OMFG/OMFGB.
any of those will run much much faster than any Touchwiz based RFS kernel/rom no matter how many superchargers and lagfixes you put on it

Any way to put tsm in gummy 1.9.1?
Sent from my SCH-I510 using XDA App
Nope. It has to be built into the rom itself, can't be done in a cwm flash.

Well in that case how do I get a custom lock screen without using and app like lock pro or something.. I've looked around but no luck on finding it
Sent from my SCH-I510 using XDA App
Your only choices without an app are the ones teamgummy give you. I'm not sure, but I think the lockscreens themselves can be flashed in, but they have to be specifically made for the charge.
Sent from my Droid Charge running GummyCharged 2.0
It is possible, but team gummycharged has permission to use TSM exclusively. So I don't think they can release an add on TSM.zip. Sorry.
Yes, its possible, as I had it, but only through GC. If they choose to release 1.9.1 with it (which I doubt) then you could. But why not jump to 2.0?
It is not released, but there are test builds available (not publicly) from the GummyCHARGED team. Do not ask for them over here though.

Well you could try asking in the 2.0 thread about it? Freezes means something went wrong.
There's alot of options for dealing with lag. I posted a how to thread in the general section with a lot of scripts to help combat lag. You can also OC/UV. You don't have to got to the extremes (1400 Mhz and -100 mV), but slight changes can go a long way.

I am also now waiting on this ROM. I've tried every ROM here. Though I like the Gummy. I want GB and the GB doesn't have toolbox and is still RC. Others are not to my liking. I've found something wrong or I don't like in everyone. So I've settled with EP1W Stock till this ROM is released. Seen some screen shots, and looks nice and what I've read so far looks great.

There are no TouchWiz 4 ROMs available for any phones besides the Galaxy S 2. The best you can get is the SGS2 lockscreen, launcher, and theme, which have been ported from the SGS2. Also, no ROM is based on AOSP yet, regardless of what the ROM information post says. All ROMs currently available (except for the CM7 builds jt1134 posts) are TouchWiz 3 based as that is all we have available.

I would love for you to find me a ROM without bugs. All ROMs have bugs, including the builds on the Nexus phones. EP1W likely also has its own set of bugs with it. Regardless of how big/small those bugs are, they will still be there.
Darkslide kicks butt.......but there is more.

Well, the dev makes fast, solid, stable roms no matter what phone. I mean, the difference on the X that I had was night and day from every other rom. I never was able to get cm7, or rather I got rid of my x before cm7 was ready, but cm7 may be the only rival. Also, he themes things around Pink Floyd a bit, thus DarkSlide, like dark side of the moon, and for me, you can't beat Pink Floyd. It doesn't make the rom work better, but in my mindgrapes it does. When it comes out, flash it. It will be totally worth it.

So what's the deal with this galnet ICS for G2x "Galnet ICS 2.11.26". Screenshots show android version 4.0.1. Is it legit? well im running the stock galnetmiui, and it seems stable enough. i cant believe ICS has been available all this time. im gonna try to slip faux123's kernal in now.
If this is it how come CM and others aren't using it to get their cameras working?
galnet is just a framework merge to ICS it doesnt have the ICS APK's, yet that is. im guessing thats why cm team hasnt used the code, cm team is probably using the ics camera APK.
also faux123's ds kernal v 048 is working fine so far.
It doesn't have much of anything from ics except a couple of things it just just has 4.0.3 in the build prop, you can do that with 2.2 builds. I don't even think it has the basics from ics in it. It is not worth the flash IMO. It is a basic miui build with some tiny modifications that are not noticeable again IMO

Yup I agree with mt3g.
Is says that it is 4.0.1 but it is very stable. I have been running it for about a week with Morfics The Destroyer 1.6ghz kernel and it is awesome. Very stable and fast. I have not had any reboots or SOD. Wifi calling works perfect as well. You will not be disappointed if you flash this rom.

From what I gathered while on it that was when it first came out, it is a flash over zip you have to install latest miui and them the ics layover (kinda like a theme for 2.3.3) not really though lol. I didn't even notice anything different at all.
Sent from my LG-P999 using xda premium
So general consensus is no this is not 4.0.1, it's just MIUI with a BS version number.

Weather it is or isn't I don't know. But you can not go by a Screenshot of the Android Version. That can be changed in the build.prop.

Not ICS... simply has some pieces stolen...
By that logic, Tsugi has "Some ICS Code" in it... as in, I used some of the images out of ICS in the theme, as well as a little xml and the screen animations. Doesn't make it ICS.

Why are they banned?
I'm gonna go out on a limb and say because they falsify information in their roms most likely. Callin this 4.0.1 is completely inaccurate. Just because it has a couple of "ICS features".
If I remember right it is just the fact the galnet asked if there versions would not be put on XDA

So in other words, the latest build the dev team has put out is just an amalgamation that's only partially ICS with the rest of it being part and parcel Gingerbread, huh?
Really looking forward to seeing hardware acceleration. I couldn't tell ya whether it'll really be the next thing since sliced bread.
Any word on whether this might allow us to run games more smoothly? I think I read somewhere that it's also a matter of developers writing code into their games that make better use of Nvidia's GPU? With the Tegra 2 being a CPU that's bound to age in 2012, I have to doubt that ICS will help us in games.
Hello! i was wondering if i could get recommendations for a fast rom that incorporates sense 3.5/3.0? i've looked at some of the ones on the rom listing http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1249328 but unfortunately it seems most of them are riddled with bugs thanks!
as far as i know, the only semi good sense 3.5 rom is SOAB from the bamf folks.
you have to understand that our phones were never meant to run sense 3.5.. so i doubt it will ever be 100% bug free on the thunderbolt.
