Thunderbolt Battery Rom - Thunderbolt General

As much as possible I would like to avoid using the extended battery for this phone. Also, at this time 4G is not as much of a concern considering my area doesn't have coverage anyway.

huh?

You're asking people a question with that tone? Good luck finding the answer alone...
BTW for the other interested and more polite members of these forums here's my answer - that's a common "issue" with the Nexus S and I found this without even searching for it... This "issue" or also called a feature is here to prolong the battery's life, to reduce rapid degradation (because they don't "like" to be charged to the maximum nor staying in the empty state).
If you don't like this "feature" try bump-charging the battery or "hack" the charging process.
Want to know how? Google it

The Nexus S does this on purpose,
to give you the technical reason why, I can't answer that. Should be something about overall battery life.

This is by design.
Samsung and Google are watching your wallet by trying to prolong your phone battery's physical life.

Because charging to 100% isn't needed and hurts the physical life of the battery.
The battery only stays at 100% for a couple seconds off the charger.
97% is close enough, those 3% wont help you.
its definitely not an "imperfection" though. Seeing as, crespo and crespo 4g users all have this.

well it could be implemented so that 100% is the new 95%.
after all it's an arbitrary number (more or less)
Oh, for the love of... NO-ONE READ MY REPLY??

And if you must charge to 100%, maybe try this.
Simply let the phone not go to sleep when charging (stay awake) and it will charge to 100%. Easy. Done.
Dunno why people couldnt just simply reply with this.
matr1x 9.0 can truly charge to 100 or it's only digits ?

so tempting.....

Austin just got LTE and I went with a friend to get the skyrocket. The lag was obvious with the browser but the internet was smoking! It's so tempting to take my less than 30 day old sgsII back to hop on the LTE train. At first glance, i couldn't tell a difference with the display crispness but knowing it's there does bug me. Anyone else go to the skyrocket from the ogsII and have any regrets?
I made the switch and have no regrets.
Can you guys comment on the battery life on the skyrocket vs galaxy s2? Have the skyrocket and no lte here yet but already a bit disappointed in the battery. Plus I figure if its this bad now it must be much worse with lte

Now that ive experienced LTE, its LTE over HSPA anyday.

Battery life for me has been excellent on the Skyrocket .. for me though, I have gone past my 30 days (dammit) .. if there was choice to get the SGS2 or even back to the Infuse .. I would jump on it immediately. The fact that there is MORE out there for ROMs and customization for those other 2 phones than there is for this !!! I figured the SGS2 Skyrocket would have took off in regards to having some neat ROMs .. but I guess I jumped the gun to damn soon.. Even looking at the HTC Vivid, they're in the same boat in regards to getting anything good on there phones.

Ahh just me venting .. LOL
Yeah, the HTC Vivid looked good (was one of my choices before the SGS2 Sky), but with all the crap out there from HTC CEO and his promises, I knew that one wouldn't be the one to get.
I love the SGS2 Sky .. my final choice, seeing that there was many out there for the original SGS2 (all variants) in regards to ROMs, that the LTE versions (ours and Rogers) would follow soon in regards to the selections .. ME GETTING IMPATIENT .. LOL
But truthfully .. it will be well worth the WAIT
I think things are starting to look up for the skyrocket we have johnsondr80 of the collective working on his red sonja rom, mortem taum doing amazing wallpapers, da_g doing at&t and Rogers kernels just to name a few
After using Vibrant for more than a year and recently switching to AT&T with SkyRocket, I'm seeing exceptional battery compared to Vibrant. On moderate use, it never lasted me a whole day. On SkyRocket, I have been using it moderately since 8 AM this morning and after 14 hours, I still have 14% battery remaining.

This phone has the best battery life of the 2 android phones I've had which are the captivate and the g2 and is close to the iphone 4 battery life for me. I'm not in an LTE area but the speeds are already super fast compared to those phones.
I have also been debating between the gsII and the skyrocket because I love flashing roms (maybe I haven't tasted LTE yet), but I am really hoping for great developers to come to this phone. Right now I see a lot of potential though.
For now you could also use the T-Mobile SGH-T989 roms haha.

This is why I'm really hoping they work on better battery management for phones coming out in 2012. Does anybody really need a 2ghz quadcore phone when there battery will just die in 3 hrs? I'm perfectly content on 1ghz cpu's(there fast enough) hopefully with any luck future phone displays, cpus, gpus, etc all work together on ICS to bring a couple days of real time use, instead of just a couple hours without having to buy extended batteries/charge etc..

That's what I'm saying man. They're moving too fast with these processor cores. I say, take a year off on engineering processors and spend that time on extending battery life and make better batteries. I'm more than content with dual cores as it is.
Sent from my LG-P999 using xda premium
Best way to extend battery life is to work on the cpu. If you shrink the cpu the it will use less watts per cycle. Also nvidia made a smart upgrade with its quad core by putting in a fifth slow main core. So work in parallel. Engineers work on making the cpu efficient and programmers should stop being lazy. It's not like these companies can't multi task
Sent from my NookColor using xda premium
They said the same thing about dual core saving battery life, that was a joke! Only way I get decent battery life is with my 3500mah extended.
Still I do agree that those 28nm krait s4 chips should take less battery usage, but I'm talking about more then just achieving much longer overall battery life from multiple factoring issues android has(better displays, gpu, cpu, larger stock OEM batteries,ui,etc) hopefully ICS and jellybean really step up to provide the ultimate android experience without having to charge our phones every 4-6 hr's lol

I am using eaglesbloods latest and using morfics elp kernel. I only get battery life like this when I'm in good service areas all day fyi. When I install a rom I really like, I erase the entire phone, reformat everything literally, then load the rom and kernel from USB mount in clockwork mod. I feel its best to have a completely clean flash. Then I charge the phone to 100 and calibrate battery stats. Some days I get battery life where I'm at 20% at 20 hours, others much much better. I'm always using the phone moderately. When I first read tthis and checked I was at 60% at 20 hours. Tried to post a screenshot bur it wouldn't work ... def. not pulling your left though. Also the only thing I sync is email every half hour. I uninstalled Facebook because it always runs in the background... makes me uncomfortable.

Anker or Mugen???

Probably already debated about this, but my question are 2 specific batteries. The anker 1900mah Battery, or Mugen 1800mah. They're both slim. But I see most people here only talk about the Anker, but nobody mentions the mugen. I bought the mugen supposing it's better quality, but really haven't seen a dramatic increase in my battery life. I probably haven't tuned it properly since I only let it discharge to 10 percent.
Although I need feedback from other users. Is the mugen better than Anker? Is anker better? Or are they almost equal??? Please help.
One more thing, would the 1950 slim Mugen battery for the sensation work for this phone?
i got the anker but will eventually buy the mugen too. i don't like the anker not having a temp sensor and requiring quite some force to get in.
also, the actual anker's mah is between 1700 and 1800mah so don't be fooled by the claimed 1900
You honestly are better getting the Mugen, better quality, its just more money which i didnt have at the moment i bought the ankers.
The sensation battery should work if im not mistaken.

Oki, ordered one ;-)
ok so it's been a couple days, been tuning the battery and so far its giving me 12 hours and around 20 min before it reaches 9 percent battery life so it is an improvement over stock batteries, just not what I expected. Although I am a heavy user, I'm using a not-so-battery friendly rom (cedde's Mytouch Lite) and it does get me through the day right. plus where I work, signal drops dramatically, must be the building structure, so that probably affects the battery.
Overall I am satisfied with the battery. I'm switching roms and giving some others a try, I'll keep the thread posted for anybody that might be curious on buying this battery.
Well!
It's been a couple days, I already broke in the battery and after many tests, I am impressed =]
At first I wasn't getting the results I expected but after a couple of recharge cycles and battery stat wipes, It's giving me what I paid for.
Being slim batteries of course you're not going to get insane battery life, but they definitely get you through the day without needing an outlet.
I'm a heavy user, I use Whatsapp, Live Profile, Go messenger for facebook, occasional skyping, twitter and of course texting. I make about 5 calls a day and work in a building with poor service. Check my facebook and news every now and then and open pandora for my daily commute. My phone never gives me less than 12 hours everyday. Not to mention I use my phone as a hotspot at home and sometimes at work.
So if you're looking for good quality batteries just to get you through your daily hustle and don't want to add bulk, and don't want to have to be switching batteries everyday (like the ankers!), this is most def the battery to get. It's worth the bucks.

Skyrocket went to cell phone heaven

Well my trusty and beloved Skyrocket finally gave up the ghost due to a busted power button. I didn't want to return it again for another one as the call quality wasn't ever very good lots of people always complaining that they could not understand me. So I went and got me an HTC One. I quickly found out after getting it that it didn't come with an SD Card slot.............ARGHHHHH! And I also cannot use an extra battery which I always carried with me on the Rocket. This phone seems to be much better behaved battery wise after a day of using it but I will reserve judgement until I fully charge it and use it for a day. I am going to use all day tomorrow and see how I like it and if it doesn't measure up (probably won't) I am returning it for a GS4 or maybe wait for the GS4 Active if I have time???
