Clockworkmod 4.0.0.5 fastboot installation - HTC Aria Android Development

EDIT: Clockworkmod 4.0.0.5, compiled by bkmo. Working! I've attached the image file you need to flash from the fastboot usb menu. Power button no longer functions for 'select', use trackball.

Version 2.5.0.7 is the latest one for the HTC Liberty.

Well aware. I know CWM3+ works on our phones though.

compiled by s0be on his end it didnt work for nandroid, using it as my regular, as it works 100% for me

Thank you Drowning, you sir are a scholar and a saint.

I compiled a 4.0.0.5 yesterday if you want I can up it. Worked for me. But I like the 2.5.0.7 with offmode charging best.

Never been able to get offmode charging to work on my phone until now.

Here is the CWM Recovery 4.0.0.5 built from CM Liberty source yesterday version 4.0.0.5. Fastboot flash it, it is not a flashable zip. It's nice to be able to easily test recoveries. Has anyone tried a new splash image yet?

Yep, first thing I did. I exchanged that bright white htc splash for a the dark colored one.
Testing 4.0.0.5 now, will update op.

Yup hate the white one. I am looking for an image I want now. I just compiled the rgb2565 tool to do the conversion.

You can also use NBimg, pain in the ass though. Couldn't get it to run in linux, kept erroring. Ended up using Wine to run the windows exe through terminal.

i have the nexus one splash

^--what does that look like?
Bkmo, 4.0.0.5 working, however nandroid is acting funny. Slow backups, and slow restores, but they are WORKING; so I'll throw this up in the OP.

Funny you say that, I just compiled nbimg and it worked like a charm. I have a script that uses imagemagick, nbimg, and fastboot. It converts and flashes in about 5 seconds.

HELP!!! Clockworkmod not flashing properly Brainmasters ICS and Linux Ubuntu 11.10

I flashed latest clockwork mod after installing brainmasters ics tweaked. When i noticed my mms wasnt working i decided to re flash another rom but when i booted into recovery it got back into fastboot mode and tells me "no boot or recovery img"
I have re flashed all versions through rom manager but they wont stick. I tried to push it with fastboot and my computer but my Ubuntu 11.10 wont recognize my Ns4g. I installed all the android sdk, adb, and fastboot files but when I type ./adb devices its doesn't come up with my device. ./fastboot flash boot recovery3101.img doesnt work either. 1st. post in the correct section. This way you can get your answer quicker and you're not annoying everyone.
2nd. Find yourself a WINDOWS PC and install android SDK and all drivers for your phone to be recognizable. Then follow one of the posts in here to flash recovery.
You could also install ROM manager from the market and use it to flash recovery through it but its always good to have a proper SDK setup for this type of emergency.
This has happened to me before and I have fixed it by flashing the latest cwmr multiple times.
Try using a different USB cable if your com still doesn't recongize it.
PS now I use twrp and i like it a lot better

I didnt see any other NS4g section. Sorry bud.
Would flash image gui work well to flash twrp?
When i use rom manager it says successfully flashes rom but then i reboot and get the sane no boot or recovery img. I dont have access to a windows pc...
Can a mod please move this to the nexus help section?
As stated, reboot from and get rom Manager from market. Try reinstalling recovery or scroll down and there is an option to use older versions and flash an older version.

Im okay with starting over but I cant even get my computer to recognize my NS4G. I'm using Ubuntu 11.10 and I have Android sdk and fastboot on my computer but when I boot my phone into fastboot it isn't recognized by my computer. All "./adb devices" or "./fastboot devices" brings up is nothing!
If I can get my Linux machine to recognize my phone I would gladly return to stock unrooted and start over.
Flash twice in rom manager. See if that changes anything. Don't reboot between just one after another. Also, in rom manager hit menu and clear download cache before you try flashing.

I've had this happen to me several times. The problem happens any time I use an app (i.e. Rom Manager or Flash Image GUI) to flash a new recovery.
The only way I've been able to resolve it is to
1. Flash cwm 3.1.0.1 with fastboot
2. Go into recovery and flash cwm 5.0.2.0.
3. DO NOT update CWM when relaunching Rom Manager or like app.

As of this morning about 6am EST, I flashed the new recovery and according to a recent tweet by koush there is a problem with the recovery. My experience after flashing both using fastboot and through clockwork rom manager, was that booting to recovery failed and my phone just rebooted into android. Just for the record, my phone is a tmo 4g w/ICS firmware 3.24 unlocked (revolutionary)/Hboot 1.17 running tripnraver beta001 cm9 unofficial with his crisp001 kernel.

i didn't try yet. is there any other info?
The problem is that the latest firmeware we pretty all use have no fastboot command
But happy to see it's in dev !
i was gonna flash it thru pg58img method cause adb is being gay but since its having issues ill wait for a stable release
Thanks for the update but ill stick with 4EXT...its the best!

I had exactly the same problem, the only thing that ended up working for me was installing Goomanager and doing it from there.
Menu > Install OpenRecoveryScript. This will install TWRP, and worked a treat for me.
I've noticed that when you first do the fastboot flash recovery that when you adb reboot into recovery, or even manually boot into recovery, it won't boot into it the first time. It will after you try again though. This has happened on 3 One X's so I know it's not a single phone specific thing.
Use TWRP, but don't be lazy and do it from the app, it didn't work for me, and just doesn't feel as reliable as my trusty adb commands. If you need help on what commands, PM me. Only three I used, without a hitch.

Flashing a recovery from fastboot is not being lazy. There's actually more work involved than installing from an app. I think you have it the other way around.

Are both recoveries able to install the same roms? or are some roms only able to be installed through CWM or TWRP?
i'm assuming they both install the same way, so all roms should work regardless. It's just that rom threads say "install using clockwork", but i guess that's just a common phrase now..

yeah install using clockwork is common language for use recovery, since cwm is the more well known one.
Just as an opinion, TWRP looks better to me, because its not all just clicks and such, TWRP you slide to confirm, you can flash multiple .zips one after the other (Useful for AOSP roms where you need GAPPS, and if you change the kernel like I do) etc.
Also, as stated before, its an official recovery on our devices, so we get full support should bugs arise.

AIO VZW M8 Developer Resource Thread

Allright kids...with the release of a firewater S-OFF method for the VZW M8 apparently around the corner...I got a little antsy. I noticed we have no resources available when we do get the ability to play, so I decided to go ahead and put together a few things for those of you who will undoubtedly follow and want to start cooking your own ROMS.
Here's what I've got for you:
STOCK ROOTED/DEODEXED/BUSYBOX/INIT.D ENABLED/DEBLOATED ROM
So obviously, I can't test this yet. But I'd be astonished if it didn't work. This should be a fully rooted, fully flashable stock ROM you can use once we have S-off and a custom recovery. The boot.img has been modified to fix system write and add init.d support for all your scripting pleasures. All apks and jars have been deodexed and zipaligned.
In short, you should be able to use this for whatever creations you want out of the box once we are unlocked and running.
(not working yet, files for dev purposes only ATM)
ROM DOWNLOAD
Kernel Source
VZW-SPECIFIC/BLOAT APPS
This will be a separate .zip including all the stuff that just makes the ROM big and clunky. Devs can choose to re-add these to the ROM, but I will not distribute the bloatware with the stock ROM. If you want to grab an extra 500MB of crap...have at it.
DOWNLOAD HERE
COMPLETE PARTITION LIST
A full enumeration of the partitions on the VZW M8, along with their names. Useful for creating update scripts.
Gdoc
CSV
STOCK RECOVERY/HBOOT/BOOT IMAGE
Because when you play, you sometimes need to fix things. Very possible I will upload a full dump as time permits, but for now, here are the basics should you screw something up once the doors are open...
Recovery.img
Boot.img
Hboot.img
Hopefully, this will not be seen as a placeholder thread. I've got the stock deodexed/rooted just about done...I just need the proper update-binary to make it usable when we have the ability to flash stuff. I will be keeping this updated with goodies as they are to be found.
https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0B0OpOqUNqeKkWXI2S0RScmM1S0k&usp=sharing
Here is the link to the full directory of resources that I am uploading to in Drive. The stock rooted is about 72% uploaded, and the apps package will follow...but I'm lazy and feel like taking a nap.
Apps are not a flashable at this time...but then again, that really doesn't matter because we can't flash anything yet. They're just there to be added to the base ROM to make it the full system dump. Once we can actually flash, I will begin cataloging which apps can be further removed without any detriment to the system.
I really look forward to the M8 S-Off. I think this is the phone I will get my hands dirty with.

CM is having a new fstab layout for a number of devices. One of these changes include a by-name partition support (instead of say mmcblk0p33 called as "system"). you need this recovery to flash CM from today, and probably all 4.4.2 ROMs soon
That's the major change...other than that: adb fixes (big issue for me while trying to pull kmesg logs for Sense 6 building :fingers-crossed, LED fixes, dual core support, fix of backup and restoration of encrypted backups

I haven't tried. I know adb works now though so I can guess that mass storage will too

Tried flashing, then tried booting both versions directly from fastboot and neither will completely boot for me. All I get is a flashing TWRP splash.

I guess I could try that. I'm fairly certain I've got the latest firmware and hboot, but its worth a shot

I did what Jose mentioned in the Pacman Kitkat thread as the fix to this--"Note: If after installing the recovery, it will not pass the screen TWRP
Restart and boot normally (system), then with any file manager to delete this "/sdcard/TWRP/.twrps"
It worked for me, and I had the same flashing TWRP screen issue as you.

It is for me, you could try uninstalling the currently installed driver on windows and reinstall it.

I tried to uninstall and re-install the drivers but no luck for me to enable USB mounting in TWRP 2.7.0.8

Go back, one page.
I flashed this today and now my internal SD card doesn't mount. I'd be grateful for any assistance.

All you needed to do was read the last few posts in this thread for suggestions on what to do.

I flashed mine with Flash GUI Image. It worked flawlessly and TWRP is super smooth and stable. I couldn't use fastboot because my phone can't be recognized by my PC.

I'm sorry timmaaa, I'm not sure what you mean. When I use a file explorer on my phone, it says my internal storage sd card is unmounted.
