According to Koushik Dutta's twitter there are some issues with the sensation touch recovery
https://twitter.com/#!/clockworkmod/status/164780853703098369
not working yet
As of this morning about 6am EST, I flashed the new recovery and according to a recent tweet by koush there is a problem with the recovery. My experience after flashing both using fastboot and through clockwork rom manager, was that booting to recovery failed and my phone just rebooted into android. Just for the record, my phone is a tmo 4g w/ICS firmware 3.24 unlocked (revolutionary)/Hboot 1.17 running tripnraver beta001 cm9 unofficial with his crisp001 kernel.
edit...beat me to it...
i didn't try yet. is there any other info?
The problem is that the latest firmeware we pretty all use have no fastboot command
But happy to see it's in dev !
i was gonna flash it thru pg58img method cause adb is being gay but since its having issues ill wait for a stable release
Thanks for the update but ill stick with 4EXT...its the best!
Sent with my Elegancia powered ICS rom built with perfection!
No issues using the 4EXT touch recovery RC3 with the new firmware. If you need to have the touch recovery I recommend checking that out (I personally want to save my volume and power buttons).

Re flash it then fix permissions twice, that normally works

says it flashed but when i got there it was old lame recovery... got a long way to go to catch ext4 anyways... i mean koush made all this possible today but he done let cwm fall too far behind... for the sensation anyway... madmaxx is a genius and prolly gonna be a rich one if he spreads to most devices...

No, you can hboot (PG58IMG.zip) or fastboot flash it, but still won't load, at least for me anyway.
5.8.0.9 works. Just worked with koush and others on irc to test.
Yep, working for me.
Once i download this can i flash through rom manager or what? Thanks

EDIT: Clockworkmod 4.0.0.5, compiled by bkmo. Working! I've attached the image file you need to flash from the fastboot usb menu. Power button no longer functions for 'select', use trackball.
Extract the img file from the zip and flash via command line.

Anybody have a working image of CWM 3 that I can flash. I assume now that I am s-off I can jump between the different versions. However I have yet to find a flashable img file that works on our phone. Anything over 4mb will fail to flash, and every other image I've tried just hangs at the bootloader splash.

Version 2.5.0.7 is the latest one for the HTC Liberty.
Well aware. I know CWM3+ works on our phones though.
compiled by s0be on his end it didnt work for nandroid, using it as my regular, as it works 100% for me
4.0.0.4

Thank you Drowning, you sir are a scholar and a saint.
I compiled a 4.0.0.5 yesterday if you want I can up it. Worked for me. But I like the 2.5.0.7 with offmode charging best.

Never been able to get offmode charging to work on my phone until now.
Here is the CWM Recovery 4.0.0.5 built from CM Liberty source yesterday version 4.0.0.5. Fastboot flash it, it is not a flashable zip. It's nice to be able to easily test recoveries. Has anyone tried a new splash image yet?
Yep, first thing I did. I exchanged that bright white htc splash for a the dark colored one.
Testing 4.0.0.5 now, will update op.

Yup hate the white one. I am looking for an image I want now. I just compiled the rgb2565 tool to do the conversion.
You can also use NBimg, pain in the ass though. Couldn't get it to run in linux, kept erroring. Ended up using Wine to run the windows exe through terminal.
i have the nexus one splash
^--what does that look like?
Bkmo, 4.0.0.5 working, however nandroid is acting funny. Slow backups, and slow restores, but they are WORKING; so I'll throw this up in the OP.

Funny you say that, I just compiled nbimg and it worked like a charm. I have a script that uses imagemagick, nbimg, and fastboot. It converts and flashes in about 5 seconds.

Okay, is anyone else having a hard time using Rom Manager using it's features due to the fact that the MT4GS is NOT listed as one of the models. I mean, how am I supposed to enter manual flash override if I can't even select MY phone model. What are WE supposed to do???
Sent from my myTouch_4G_Slide using xda premium
we don't have an official recovery yet, so we have to use Modaco 4.0.0.9 for the time being..
WHATEVER YOU DO, DO NOT FLASH THE RECOVERY FOR ANOTHER PHONE..
That's a lil late however, I think I already did that, now I can't even enter recovery mode anymore, and when I power on while holding the volume button down. I get same message about trying to load and then it says no image. Even then if I try to press recovery I get stuck on the white t-mobile/HTC screen. Mt only option if to reboot. I'm st my wits end. Should I just Unroot and then just Root back again?
Sent from my myTouch_4G_Slide using xda premium
YES flash the PD15IMG file and start over from scratch with revolutionary and then upgrade to modaco's 4.0.0.9 recovery. There is no support for the MT4GS in ROM Manager and it's not safe at all to flash anything that's designed for another phone unless you want problems! Good luck!

There's probably an easier way. Download the modaco recovery zip, unzip it and grab the img file and rename it to recovery.img. Then reboot into the bootloader and use fastboot to flash the img. That should do the trick.

Just want to say thank you and I'm going to donate some coffee cash to you later. I followed your method of copying/transferring recovery image through terminal emulator on my phone and now it works PERFECTLY again. I think I accidentally flashed a different version of recovery for a different phone model through Rom Manager. So I learned my lesson. I also spoke with Koush yesterday and he assured me that a fix is on the way for the MT4GS, which is great to hear, otherwise, it's pretty much useless to us.

Where on my SD card am I supposed to stick the "recovery.img" file so that FASTBOOT will see it? I am having no luck finding/loading the IMG file....
I got it figured out. NEVERMIND =)
1) Download MoDaCo's recovery to your computer.
2) Download the Fastboot binary for your computer.
3) I'm assuming you have ADB set up on your computer, so type in "adb shell reboot bootloader".
4) When your phone is in the bootloader, type in "fastboot flash recovery */path/to/recovery.img*" and then "fastboot reboot".
5) You should be able to boot into recovery now.
Thank You Sir. I had already figured it out. I felt so stupid when I did too... It happens though... I guess I should have read more.
Yea I did this by accident once, flashed the MT4G recovery through Rom Manager. I suggest just go ahead and dont install that app at all, you cant really do anything with it anyway since most of the options are unavailable unless you flash CWM recovery through the app. Also, if you are using Unity Rom, CWM reads your device as a HTC Sensation, so dont be fooled. Once you flash the 4009 originally you should be good, if you accidentally flash another phones recovery, none of your nandroids will work

First of all, this is not my work. I only compiled it.
This is the usual ClockworkMod recovery, compiled from the CM7 sources with additions/modifications by j_r0dd. What I've done is only to compile it for the Sensation. For details, check out the link to j_r0dd's original thread for the Nexus S.
The credits go to Koush for the recovery itself and to j_r0dd for the modifications. I've only tested it quickly on my Sensation, and it seems to work.
j_r0dd said:
This is based on the latest CM7 source which I modified for myself. I take no credit for the recovery whatsoever, but I will take all the blame for my mods . We all know this is Koush's hard work. Just some things were driving me crazy personally. First was the confirmation menu. I really got sick of scrolling through all those "No"s just to flash something, so i changed it for me personally and just thought I would share. I also created a proper wipe menu. I got sick of some wipes in the main menu and the rest in the "advanced" menu. I made this more Amon_RA like. See the attached screenshot for my changes. That change has led to a few others by me. flash with fastboot or flash_image. THESE ARE NOT IN ROM MANAGER. Also if you have an issue with this take it up with me NOT Koush.

Rearranged wipe menu to avoid accidental factory wipes
Added "Reboot Bootloader"
Moved SD Card partitioning into a function of its own for both int/ext SD card
Merged 5.0.2.6 sources from CM7 repo
Added a menu choice of ext2/ext3/ext4 when partitioning SD card
Merged 5.0.2.7 from CM7 repo
Off-mode charging works.
Disclaimer
These recoveries are compiled using the latest commits from koush, j_r0dd and others. That means they haven't been thoroughly tested and might have minor/major issues. I take no responsibility for any damages this thing might cause, but most things should work as intended. If you want something guaranteed to work, I think you should stick with one of the older versions.

Yes, it should. Try turning off your phone completely, then plug in the charger. The light should indicate amber while charging, green when fully charged and off if offmode charging is not working. Please test it on a battery that is around 50% full.

That zip is only an zip with adb and fastboot files, and recovery included. with the simple how-to.
Edit: flashed myself. Testing it now.
Well, if adb fails, put this zip file in the root of your SD card and reboot into bootloader (select "Bootloader" from fastboot) and it should automatically flash it. I don't use this method myself, but it should work.
Let me know how it went.

Yes, it is. It's actually mainly a mod to the menu structure and some other small things, nothing that should change the CWM 5.0.x.x compatibility.

I never had and issue rebooting into recovery from the power menu or from within 4ext I have not tried.it from boot loaded but the other 2 ways do not work....what I did last was flash Anthrax rls5 its possible I flashed bad kernel...but my phone info.says instill am on bricked kernel so I dunno that the last thing I did before I noticed the issue....
I made sure 4ext is updated and Su binaries are up to date I'm on the lasted ordroid anyone have this issue before?
I tried to boot into recovery from bootloader that's a no go as well it just shows the black sensation screen then it skips past recovery back to the sensation screen then it loads back into the the Rom like its suppose to....

The only only thing remember doing is deleting a script I was using to keep both cores running out of the init.d folder and I booted into recovery after that flashed Anthrax kernel I think it was rls5 from the infectedrom site
When i realized it didn't flash over my bricked kernel I attempted to go back into recovery that when I discovered the issue however the reflashing of 4ext seemed to fix this issue I been flashing and tweaking for sometime never had that problem

Yes.. Wait for 10 minutes max.. If it's not booting then.. You need to flash boot.img of the rom seperately from fastboot but that process requires pc access.. Or try this.. If not booted.. Go to recovery again.. Then enable smartflash again and immediately flash the rom.. Without doing any wipe.. This might work

This is normal for Smart Flash, the device will boot to the splash screen then flash the boot.I mg then reboot again but all the way nto the ROM on the second reboot. Also I know you can flash splashscreens and recoveries via Terminal Emulator but I am not sure about the boot.img. From what I am do know about Android I am thinking you probably can not but it is worth a Google search.
Ok, so I downloaded the Elegancia Pegasus, I went into 4ext recovery, did a super wipe, turned on smart flash, installed the rom zip, did not reboot but enabled smart flash again, and then installed the rom again..(reason for this was I was thinking maybe it installed a new 4ext)..I really dont think it did though, but still stuck at the white htc screen...I may have to just do this from a computer...weird thing is that Elegancia sense 4.x 3.1.0 flashes just fine, but i imagine thats because that Boot.img is not getting written over by the pegasus one..any other ideas?...the ext recovery I am using is the stable most current release btw..thanks everyone...Dirtylarry
