Look at the white line infer the 4 right on the edge of the adverscreen.. Would you exchange it?
Definately. It's not a pristine product, right!?
Without

ounce
of
hesitation
That's bad, replace it asap.
I don't even own your phone and I want to punch it.
Take it back.

This can happen to any phone.
To the OP: YES!
I would definitely exchange it!
Go for it!
Consider this: the fact that you had to ask at all may indicate that the problem is not so severe as to warrant an immediate YES! from yourself. You needed group consensus to push you toward a decision that obviously didn't bother you terribly.
There are two paths, padawan. Accept that nothing is perfect, and that what you have is completely bearable and won't affect the quality of your life one way or the other. Or continue forth and

At least the YES! men above will bear the costs of your transactions as well.
I believe the fact that T-mo and friends have such a lenient return policy hurts all of us in the long run.

Its a defective product, most likely a crack in the LCD itself. How can you even tell him to keep it, god knows the underlying causes to such an obvious problem.
This is not a dead pixel, its a crack on his LCD.
Why would you tell him to keep a defective product is way beyond me, but I have a solution to your TMO cost problems, how about YOU buy from them the defective crap that is send back to them, its a win/win

Verizon told me that they can't do anything about it, and they can't replace it too. What can I do?
is there any place I can go to buy a new body shell for my phone?
**Update**
I found this site, and they are saling HTC Touch CDMA OEM black housing w/ digitizer
http://cnn.cn/shop/touch-cdma-black-housing-digitizer-p-2377.html
do you thing it will work with verizon phone?
You may not be able to use it with Verizon, but you can always check. Don't feel bad, your not the only one with the bad housing, it seems there was an entire shipment of these with bad housing. There is a sticky thread over at PPCGeeks with a bunch of people with this problem. Mine hasn't yet, and I pray everyday it doesn't! But, Verizon is giving you BS, I don't think they want to take responsibility for it, I'm sure tons of called with the complaint. My suggestion would be to call, and get to the highest supervisor possible and then give your complaint to them, stating others have the same problem. Also, if you have insurance, it should replace, but try to get the new one free of charge, since it's a defect.
you see, when I was at there store and they called they told me that they NEVER received and complains about this phone has any problem (NEVER) I told the Manager that they are some people having the same problem, they told me that they never see one and Verizon they don't replace it but if I want I can buy another one and pay full price for it! ( I will never do that)
Personally, I hate going directly to the store, too busy, and way too many "techs" that have no idea what there are talking about! Sometimes when I'm there I just want to pull the Touch out and say hey look I have GPS!!! Anyways, your best bet is to call the 800 number. Anytime I needed anything I call customer service, have them note my account after resolving the problem, then walk in the store with no problem at all.
I will do that first thing in the mornning! thanks for the info.
No prob! Just make sure you throw some anger in, of course, without being directly rude. I always give the, "I paid a good bit of money for this device and you can't do anything for me!" Always seems to work well! Good Luck!
Good news! I'm geting a new phone in three day as replacement. I really did not say a lot and the girl how is helping me was very nice. we talked for 5 mins and I got my new phone..
**UPDATE**
wow, I have my new phone and I'm running OMJ's ROM , I have GPS, WM 6.1, and JAVA.

I'm not sure how many of you have heard it but a user was on a call and his droid 2 exploded and some of the glass cut his ear causing a hospital visit and 4 stitches. As a Electronics Engineer I doubt anything except the battery could cause such a explosion. But I'm not very knowledgeable on the LCD etc and to what the potential danger is for explosion.
I'm sure this will hit main stream media by tomorrow and if it is proven to be accurate and true, this is going to be a big hit for Moto and maybe cause for concern of others using the same possibly defective hardware.
Here is a video of a news clip. http://www.the33tv.com/videobeta/919e261e-2d3d-422a-bc61-f3c62612039c/News/12-02-10-Cell-Phone-Explodes

After some more investigating on Google I think this will turn out to be a fraud or scam. I can't see how the explosion could have came from the inside of the phone with enough force to crack the screen and the phone is still working. Most of these rare instances are related to the battery exploding. If this was the case the device would not function at all.
I suspect this guy damaged the device put it up to his ear and made it cut himself and try to make people believe it exploded.
We will see???
...I dont know what to make of that story. It seems to me that the screen is intact making and "explosion" kinda not possible. It sucks that this day and age we cant just take someones word on what happened but face it, the worlds full of people trying to get rich quick. Cant say that this is what this couple is doing...but looking at the phone, seems more like he dropped it and now wants a new phone for free.
I dont know..I suppose Verizon can release to Motorola his call records under a courts order and that would be the first step..see if he actually placed a call at around that time.
The other thing, If I was in my driveway and my phone explodes on the side of my head I am not going to leave my house and travel to my wife for her to tell me what happened lol, I am going to go inside my house and look in the mirror to see what the hell just happened to my head..thats just me though I guess?
He had to have smashed it in his pocket and answered a call thereby cutting himself on the glass.
considering that the Moto Droid line uses Gorilla Glass it really makes me wonder how the hell that happened without destroying the phone. one of my buddies who drives for another company accidentally ran his D2 over and the only thing that was still good was the screen. my guess is this dude is pissed about Verizion dropping the D2 and releasing the D2 Global with better specs and is trying to get out of his 2 year contract and get a payday on top of it.
he must've been overclocking the sh!t out of that droid2 3.0ghz maybe seriously who do you sue verizon or google whoever it is i'll say thanks for the riches ya dig.
I own a Droid 4 and recently dropped it, cracked the digitizer, and replaced it. Now my touch screen is only detecting these thin horizontal lines on the upper half of the screen. I'm wondering if it's possible that I screwed up the phone on disassembly/reassembly or if it's more likely that the new digitizer is defective.
Has anyone seen anything like this before?
Thanks,
Alex
P.S. The attachment is a screen shot of my phone running an app which detects points sent by the touch screen/digitizer and records them.

Bump
Firstly - please don't bump your own threads, and certainly not until at least 24 hours have passed.
Secondly - The reason for you not getting a reply is likely due to the fact that XDA is actually supposed to be a "Development" site, not a "Hardware" site
Thirdly - The likelihood is that you either;-
a) bought a cheap, eBay special digitiser which is not fully compatible
b) didn't get the connections right on install
c) broke something else inside the phone when you dropped it
Start off by taking it all apart again and rebuilding it, if that doesn't work then decide if you want to spend more money buying another digitiser or just ditch the phone and get a new one.
P.S. Why include a pointless poll for this thread?
P.P.S. Not sure why, but you have made two posts and XDA shows you as only making one. Strange.
That is classic yo, made my night. Well I was just checkin in here cause I couldn't find a more appropriate forum. I figured someone might know something, but yeh sorry bout the bumps. Although it did get you to respond, hopefully I didn't break something. I don't think so because everything on the phone works perfectly, I even fixed the little headset speaker. After much arm pulling I finally convinced the company to give me a refund, we'll see if a new one does the trick.

Hello.
It kills me to admit that my brand new $ 1200 surface pro has some light bleeding around the botton right and right areas of the screen.
Ive looked it up a but and it seems that this was an earlier issue so I actually didnt think there would be a chance I would end up facing this problem. I havent seen any complaints throughout may-june.
Here are 2 pics:
First one is with the place lit at the boot screen.

Second one is with lights out, black image on full screen.
They are both with brightness at 100%, but it really doesnt make that much differene if it's set to 50%.
What do you guys think? I shouldnt be expecting those right? I know that people had much worse bleeds once, but that was before.
I also dont want to keep exchanging till I get a good one, that's too much of a hassle. So if you tell me that all of them are probably be the same I wont exchange.
It bugs me that such an expensive device would present this kind of irritating and ugly problem after 6 months in production.
Warranty claim. Your entitled so why not :/
The thing is im visiting canada right now, and thats where I bought it. The store is called future shop.
Im still within the 14 return/exchange period.
And now im seriously thinking whether I should return it for good, keep mine or get it replaced, hoping the new one would be free from defects.
Get it replaced under warranty. At FutureShop, ideally, but any Microsoft store should replace it no trouble. That's definitely a defect; the backlights shouldn't be *visible* in that way at all.

But what if the next one is the same or even worse? Isnt it likely that he whole batch sent to the sae store would have the same production issues?
Test it before you take it home, get a refund if they can't provide a non-defective model? Leaving aside the fact that it's highly unlikely that an entire production run has a visually obvious defect, this is Consumer Electronics 101. Hell, it's Being A Customer 101. If somebody sold you a defective toaster, you'd take it back under warranty. If somebody sold you a defective Ferrari, you'd take it back under warranty.
I agree. Keep asking for one till you get one that satisfies you. You paid for it, so you deserve to get a fully functional product.

Thanks guys. You encouraged me. The thing is Im aware how most stores behave when such things happen. They will start to make things difficult, creating excuses and so on and on. I hate that.
Also, could you give me some ideas on how to test it for light bleeding in a bright lit store?

request to take it to a storage cupboard?
Here in the UK if a shop starts being awkward normally just just whip your phone out, make it highly obvious that your searching for the trading standards number, perhaps going as far as almost pressing the dial button and then they'll usually give in but from what I hear the US equivalent of trading standards are useless so shops might ignore the same threat.

You're right. That's why I always buy from stores that have great customer service. Microsoft store and apple store at good examples. They just replace it till you're happy
I've had issues like this with my ipad back when I had it. Its not normal and you shouldnt have any trouble getting it replaced if you take it into the shop again. They should know about these things.

I think I saw last time I saw this come up the general consensus was that this is just ordinary lens flare. Its a reflection of the light on the lens. Its annoying but completely normal.

Probably yeah, the sun was really bright but i never thought this would happen..
It's plausible that it could be the situation here lol
I'm not used to have such a good phone and think everything it's a problem [emoji23]
I wanted know if other people experienced the same and it was not a camera problem for the good of my heart lool
I understand. The phone is a huge investment for a lot of people so they tend panic at anything that they perceive to be "not quite right".
I wouldn't worry to much about it though mate. These phones are made to ridiculously stringent standards so the likelihood of there being something legitimately wrong with your phone is slim unless you're insanely unlucky.
You'll see a few complaints here and there about any phone online but you have to remember that for every person who writes about a complaint or issue, there are tens of thousands of others out there with a fully functioning device who are never going to post about their positive experience.
