I am starting an encyclopedia and would like the community's help. Please, contact me if you're interested in helping. I'm wanting to get the following information for each device. What started this was when I needed to unbrick and re-root a friend's phone... took forever and all over to find the info. Here's what we need:
How to root (Windows, Ubuntu, Mac, Z4Root/Gingerbreak/Other) One-clicks are OK if they work, manual methods welcome also!
How to unroot (same as above)
The device's specs.. what carrier, etc... (though I can probably get most of this)
How to perform a system restore (SBF, ODIN, etc..) We need to get a valid link for the required files.
You can send these to me via PM's or word docs/google docs @ [email protected]
I would appreciate it, and I'm sure the community would as well. I will be spending all my free time devoted to gathering info. Thanks a ton! Any one who helps will be rewarded with mentions and adshare, etc... when everything comes together. If you're not interested in that, it's fine, just tell me and we'll at least mention you. Thanks!

I’m not sure how this will be received here on XDA but figured I’d try.
I would have asked k0nane this but seems he went MIA after CIQ info went public.
I’m offering to pay $50 (via paypal) to anybody that can give complete and easy to read instructions to the XDA community on how to remove CIQ manually on the skyrocket (AT&T). The instructions should be easy for anybody to follow, and not require a custom rom or kernel. Requiring root is fine. Money will be sent ASAP after verification of instructions.
I’m looking for instructions.
Instructions can include replacing files, editing files (things that are easily done with adb etc), command line stuff, and so on.
I have seen that there are lots of others looking for the exact same thing as me so figured the $50 was a good bounty hopefully.
Mods: if this post was a big nono, I’m sincerely sorry and you can remove it and please accept my apologies.
this post will be reserved, assuming somebody comes up with instructions they will be posted here..

You might have to move this thread to the general section, or q&a. Mods will do it if you don't. Also I just learned the hard and very embarrassing way that you can't offer money up front and donations are solely for work that has already been done.

Rest assured that the developer community here at XDA are already hard at work finding ways to strip CIQ. It will come.
I believe a relative attempted to install via oden, A Verizon based module on this phone using odin. I am so unlearned about the android os that I do not know the terminology even to use here. Not complaints but just info, I am now victim to two arsons and thus homeless and rebuilding and so little time this is first chance I have had to post about this in some time.
I am not very adept at finding articles here so would appreciate any help any can provide.
I wish to and will learn all there is to know about Android some time in future and will master most of it except programing.
For now any help with any post or articles or what have you would be appreciated as well as any live help should someone so care to provide
You are welcome to PM or email me as well. [email protected].
If I am allowed to post this, I would consider paid help as well. If not allowed to post any part of this or if in wrong area, please help me correct my actions.
Thank you all in advance.

Hi,
Here is a thread on returning your device to stock with Odin, http://forum.xda-developers.com/not...mware-firmware-kernel-modem-recovery-t2942937
And as far as wanting to learn about Android and the things found on XDA, my only advice is to read read read. There is a lot of info out there, just search on terms or procedures you are curious about and read through the search results.
For your device, you can start with this thread to learn more about it... http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-4-verizon/general/guide-to-note-4-wip-t2939288
You can ask questions there as well!
Good luck!
Ty, Darth. Sorry for my noobness. I cannot seem to locate in the reccomended thereds, any thing about USCelluar phones or any link to any Rom, Kernal or what ever it is called. I do now know odin was improperly used and possibly a verizon upload was made to the phone and then on panic odin was ran and all possible options tried like flash tlock partition and any other options except pit.
I have not a clue where to start to fix it. I have been reading but if I seen any possible solutions, I missed them. Can someone please point me to some factory iriginal files for the USC NOTE 4 and some knowledge of how to use them? If some other files would work, where verizon or what have you, glad to try that to. The phone in question has never been on line or assigned any phone number since new. Not sure that matters. I do not mind messing it up further or experimenting to learn or help devs if any needed.
Thanks
Gh
I suggest then asking about your device here, http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-4/help/noob-friendly-question-t2866810
But I will tell you... Reading and research is a part of this hobby. Without doing a lot of that, people end up with big problems usually.
Here is the main note 4 section, I recommend reading through some of the sticky threads in the general and Q&A sections. Those are the threads at the top with a thumb tack symbol beside them. :good:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-4
After you've read up and know a little more, then I'd worry about roms and whatnot. And any further questions can be asked in the first thread I linked in this post.
Good luck again!
I am confident in only big solutions. I thank you for your kindness and patience. I am only sorry that I do not know a rom from a kernal or a brick for now. I regret, I am not smart enough as well to follow the links so well or derive from then when I can. I do have unbreakable tenacity however and never lose a war due to it. The outcome for me is obvious but the time frame not so nice to me as I will not have time to read much for some months and now seek a quuick fix for a quick fix of feeling human again, for now. Any advise for a direct link to some adb and fast boot drivers? Seems this may be the sutipn and not odin for now. Seems I need to get what ever the file is called into the phone or files to recover to as mine goes to recovery every time but then losds the bum files it has stired. Would be nice to know how to idenify the files but all in good time.
You will need to ask in the threads provided. Xda Assist is here to help navigate the site, not for support.
If you have no time to read, and want things done quick, then I suggest to you that your heading down a risky path... And your device could suffer.
Also, XDA is a place to learn and share... Without doing your part here, meaning reading, you will have trouble getting people to help.
Thanks, and thread closed.
I read this is the place for noobs, so, I got myself into a FRP LOCK on my Galaxy Tab A6 sm-T280. I use the tablet strictly for flying my drone for surveillance around the rural location where I live. It was having some connectivity problems, so I rooted it to hopefully get enough horsepower to run the DJI Go app. That didn't work so I did a wipe/factory reset, had a problem with the password, and here I am.
I am researching, and gathering the required tools to fix it.
I finally found some guides that are basic enough for me to understand.
I found numerous sites to download the stock rom, but not sure which ones are safe. Suggestions? Also, I am not sure about the country code for the firmware. I am in the USA, and I don't see it listed anywhere. Does it matter? This android stuff is all new and confusing to this old man. I am determined to get this tablet fixed, and would appreciate any and all advice. Thanks, Gary
edit: Will this rom work? : T280XXUOAPL1 using XAA for theCSC? Is xaa the default/generic for U.S.A. ?

I don't have this device but, you may be able to obtain what you are looking for within one of the following threads that's specific to your device.

Good Luck!

I DO NOT provide support via PM unless asked/requested by myself. PLEASE keep it in the threads where everyone can share.
Thank you Ibuprophen,
This one did the trick : https://forum.xda-developers.com/sho....php?t=3589415
I've looked at a dozen different download sites, and this is the only one that shows the United States for the country code. I've built my own computers, worked with windows, and a bit with linux,, but this android stuff is eating on me. But with help from folks like you, I think I can get where I need to be. I hit the thanks button on your posts and the op. Hope you have great weekend, you've helped to make mine a WHOLE lot better. Gary
I installed Wine on my DarkROM and it never requested root from Magisk. Because of this, access is denied to all Wine files, and the Z drive appears empty. Is there any way to manually give Wine root access?
Edit: I've looked for many sources over the past few days. The majority of the issues of this style are with Pixel devices, and the ROM I'm using is Pixel based, but so far I haven't found much help in them.
Moved this post to the right section of the FORUM. @iiPostMaster you might get more help
Thanks @SREEPRAJAY. I realized some of the info I'd posted was incorrect, so I've edited it. Hopefully this will help bring in more support!
Bumpity dumpity.
I forgot the forum rules said I could do this, so I've been waiting around sadly in hopes of reply before I thought to read them again.
Bumpity dumpity.
Still in need of assistance on this... Anybody?
Bumpity dumpity.
Forgot to bump for a few days, but still need help. (Not quite as important to me any more though, since I found out that ARM devices can only run up to Windows RT apps.)
Bumpity dumpity.
Any assistance at all? Still looking for help here... (At this point I'd even accept another app that can run exe files, like Exagear Strategies, as long as there's some kind of full tutorial I can find. [Most tutorials out there aren't detailed enough and don't explain how to use a gamepad and/or keyboard/mouse.])
Bumpity dumpity.
Haven't touched this in a while, but still looking for support. Any takers?
I'm no dev, but i've come to be decently familiar with these devices.
If it's bricked - and you're arriving at having "looked everywhere" for a fix to no avail, DO NOT HESITATE to post your problemo. I may be able to help and would be glad to take a whack at it.
(A description of what went wrong, how your brick came to be would be helpful in solving your particular case.)
You should get a response from me pretty quickly in the Telegram
But definitely post here as well or give a link to your existing "need help" post if you already happen to have one.
If not bricked - maybe looking to see what other cool things can be done with these. Especially if you didn't know that these tablets are essentially mini pc's.
You could very well install Linux (Lubuntu | as Ubuntu runs like balls)
or even Windows (less practical .. still haven't gotten the drivers totally figured out .. but pretty neat nonetheless).
Creating backup firmware .img's - Also if you're unbricked a VERY useful thing to do would be to boot a Live Lubuntu from USB and create backup .imgs of each partition using the "dd" command. THEN, you'll have a working firmware backup for yourself and/or others who may need some stock imgs! With the very lacking amount of stock firmware to be found for these devices, making backups with this method would be very cool of you and helpful to everyone!
(Assistance and clarification can easily be given wherever needed!)
@CornholeOS_x86
Please read THIS before posting further. In fact it would be better if you read the entire Rules and start to follow them always.
I hope that you will be providing your help on XDA openly and not via third party sites and PMs.
Cheers!
Apologies, I shall.
I only mention TG because assisting would be much easier in a chat environment. Is there an allowed alternative or would the Discord serve this purpose? I mean not to break rules.

I'm confident that you didn't and don't intend to break any forum rules, and I really appreciate that you confirm this. I'm also convinced that you agree that XDA members won't benefit from any - although well intended - assistance or support that is provided outside of XDA by whatever social media.
This is one of the reasons that and as an exemption to the last bullet of rule no. 5 of the forum rules (which my esteemed team mate @TNSMANI linked in his post above) we only grant developers the privilege to provide references to their social media in their own development threads.
I hope I was able to clarify your question.
