[Q] Winamp - Samsung Infuse 4G

In Winamp, is there a way to get it to shuffle a playlist? Hard to believe that feature isn't in there somewhere.

I know this isn't the answer you are looking for, but winamp for android is not nearly as good as it is for pc. The android version is very basic.

Hey, go into your playlist and hit your menu button, shuffle On comes up in the first pop-up options

Pocket Music + quick way to load/change playlist?

Hi all,
Just wondering if anyone knew a way of loading/changing saved playlist on Pocket Music; I can't seem to find any quick way to do this.
All I want is to press a button (hardware or software)- that brings up all the saved playlist and for me to be able to select it and play.
At the moment it is a long winded process; select playlist button>load playlist> select the playlist required> press the tick button.
I currently use the PocketMusic Skin mode (as opposed to the WinAmp one) and it would good to have a single button which brings up the playlists.
Maybe there is another player to do this?
Thanks.

Question. MP3 player with Bookmarks

Hi there,
I'm playing music and audiobooks on my Htc Hd2 so I'm looking for a Mp3 player witch has the "bookmark" function like my Cowon MPplayer. The Cowon makes a bookmark every time I stop the music/audiobook on the exact position and makes a list of all the bookmarks (multiple bookmarks). It does this too when I switch it of. And it resumes on the exact location, you can pick the bookmark you want. Now I've tried "resume.cab" which is good but it does not give multiple bookmarks.
Is there a player which has this function or is there anybody who can make this feature for the HTC player?
I was looking for this exact same feature. Really frustrating to come back to an audio book after a few days and forget were you were. Core player does it but it has other draw backs.
I've just been trialling Conduits Pocket Player and that seems to be very good. It has a facility to restart precisely where you left off and it's pretty finger friendly as well. I'm not sure if it is possible to create a list of bookmarks or if it can 'remember' multiple bookmarks but I would say it's worth taking a look at.
Hey,
PocketMusic Player (I use 5.3.3 Bundle) saves many bookmarks for different Files in a bookmark list (you must set them manually)
I remember MortPlayer do the same...
Regards Olaf
Thanks
Thanks a lot for both your reactions
I followed your advise and indeed Pocket Player does exactly what I was looking for. You can make many bookmarks. It seems that PP is one of the very few who has this capability.
So as far I'm concerned my problem is solved.
Thanks again,
fred

Enqueue feature for HTC Player? Could it be done?

Hi!
I use the Music tab in Sense to play my music, because it's really neat to have it so easily accessible. There is one feature I miss, though, and I think it could be easily added. I miss having the option to enqueue(hope that's the right spelling ) the song to the Now Playing playlist instead of playing it right away. I used to make a queue of songs I'd like to hear in all my previous music players and I don't wanna give it up or be forced to use WMP. So is there a possibility any good programmer would add that feature? It would be like: short press - play, long press - enqueue. Or something like that. I would be really grateful. Thanks
P.S. Yes I know I can build playlists, but I'd like this better.
I'll be following this thread. It's the one (major) thing missing from the music player. Let's hope there's a solution.
I also miss the option to just browse for a certain folder! The album names sometimes do not match, which results in songs being catogorized several times in the album list.... A new tab would be wonderful

[Q] Nice MP3 Player with home screen and folder support?

I am looking for an Android player that is pretty simple but i do not see why its so hard to find?
All I want is something that lets me play MP3's.. that does not scan the entire device (ringtones always seem to show up and I dont want them to)
something that kinda roots itself on the SD Card in a folder like "Music"
with a nice home screen
AND
somethign that will resume the next time it's open. for some reason the media player that comes with my Captivate seems to wants me to start all over when i dont use it for 30 min or so..
simple?
thanks for the advise

PowerAMP. It's in the market, and has a really nice EQ setup in addition to what you're talking about. It's in beta right now.

thank you, Downloading and testing this now. I will keep you posted on my impression!
There is one in alpha
Try this one. It pulls data in from the music folder and allows for pause, fast forward and rewind. However it is still in alpha...
Meridian player has most of the features you are after such as Folder browsing and resuming Videos. Plus it has decent widget also

+1 for Power Amp
Player pro does the folder playing and is very simple, got some nice widget aswell
MortPlayer is another nice light alternative that meets your criteria. There is also a version of MortPlayer specifically for audiobooks that allows you to make bookmarks in your sound files.
I actually use both PowerAMP and MortPlayer: PowerAMP for general music listening and it's very pretty UI, and MortPlayer for listening to long recordings of lectures so that I can consistently come back to where I left off.

Music app that sorts: Genre>Artist>Album?

Anyone know of any music apps that go to a list of artists after selecting genre? Its the way Apple does genre browsing and I think they have a patent on it because no other music player does it, they send you to all the songs in a genre which is a joke (select "rock" and get a list of 1200 songs, thanks for narrowing it down).
The ONLY app Ive seen that does this is Player Pro, and they do it in a weird way (which lets them get by the patent, assuming there is one).
I simply cannot use a music app that doesnt allow you to browse by genre and then goes to artists, its by far the easiest way to find what youre looking for since it narrows results down so much. I only use the music part of my phone when driving so finding things quickly without looking through big lists is essential, searching by artist is too difficult because I have too many artists and the list is too long to scroll through, if it wasnt for Player Pro I'd still be using my ipod touch for music. Player Pro is a good app but Id still like to know of alternatives.
I remember there being a Zune clone floating around that wasnt allowed on the google store because it was an exact copy, is there anything like that for the iPod (I know about bTunes, its not what Im looking for)?

Try N7 or Power Amp

The MixZing media player seems to do what you're asking for, when you click on the genre section it shows you the artists, and on clicking the artits you get the albums.
