On my G2x, 8mp images were 3-8mb. On the Sensation, they are like .8-2mb. Why so small?

Higher compression Not happy with the quality?
Images are more crisp than g2x I wouldn't worry about size of pic

Did you take a picture of this same view, maybe Sensation are using higher compression then SGS2.

Why does HTC still have their phones compress photos soo much? It's it to save storage space? Does anyone know?
They should know there are some people who will trade off for a bigger sized photo with better quality..

sensation video performs very choppy on lowlight!!!!!!
Yeah. I'm pretty sure its a Sense thing. My EVO, and my buddies ThunderBolt does the same thing. It's kind of like the night mode on Samsung phones.

Any comments on the pictures though? I want to find out if the image compression on the Sensation is really as bad as the engadget review chalks it up to be.
Sense uses a weird compression. My EVO took much better pictures on firmware compiled directly from source code.

Can someone confirm how big are the average size photos on the Sensation?
I am using the Pyramid Rom from the Sensation on the DHD and photos are coming out at an average 4MB and was wondering if this was normal on the Sensation?

Biggest one I've had was around ~2MB.
I was wonder what phones are similar to htc sensation.
Hardware wise ofcourse.
Hardware wise the sgs 2 is better as it has 1gb ram and sensation has 768mb ram..and both have the same screen size and processor

No, um not like "this is better cuz of this".
Just looking for similar device to maybe try to port a miui. But no idea if that even matters.
Closest phone to the Sensation is the Evo 3D. Both are basically the same phone but the Evo 3D is a 3D phone.

Actually they have the same 540x960 qHD resolution as well as the both screens being 4.3in and Super LCD.

The upcoming Mytouch 4g slide for tmous has the same guts as the sensation. I believe it sports a better camera though.
Hey anyone else find that the sensation is faster with a lower resolution due to it not having to redraw/upscale apps?
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using Tapatalk
didnt even know that was possible, is that what you have done? and if so how?
Not possible afaik
I used a free resolution changer from the market place
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using Tapatalk
Though it does make some from of the native app/programs look funny - so there's definitely a trade off there

You guys can try this. I haven't tried it since I'm not rooted yet.
After changing resolution go into spare parts, unchecked compatibility mode, reboot.....and apps will appear correctly

That negates the whole point of having a nice qHD resolution screen.
Not possible afaik
Will give it a try
Reason why I went with this phone is b/c of the higher res.

Why buy this phone and then change the one thing that makes it so special?

Can we safely assume he changed his density and not his resolution?
Our resolutions rock a lower density. I love my insanely small text that is super clear!
Something interesting when you change the density to 200 and load up the new market in landscape mode. Looks and works just like my Xooms market. I can't wait for ICS!

Anyone else just getting ridiculous refocusing while recording? Any tips? The recording seems a bit of a let down compared to my HTC Amaze.

In low light environment, yes the auto focus is not robust and sometimes I have to manually tap the screen to get the video clear. In bright light, it's fine. I have never used Amaze so no comparison here but I am overall happy with my one s's video shooting capability.
