Suggestion for Q&A section

I have noticed that moderators are frustrated with questions posted in this section, and I thought I would share my take on why this is the case and a little suggestion.
I think one of the reasons why people don't go to the Q&A section is because of its very title "Q&A."
When we go anywhere to get help (AT&T, Apple, nVidia, etc), we are often first redirected to their Q&A page, which is often NOT helpful (we've all had this experience, right?). So, we've developed a habit or subconscious avoidance of Q&A, thinking that it is not where we can get "real" help but rather a page that contains information that is too basic.
Now, I am not saying our Q&A section is like that. However, the title Q&A is associated with this negative experience we've had, so that makes it less likely for us to go there if/when we want real help.
So, my suggestion is that we use a different title for that section. I don't know what would be a good title, but maybe we can brainstorm here to come up with a good name for it?

Yea, I also noticed that the current Q&A section is not very well-organized. I mean, if you go there, the first page is filled with a bunch of stickies. That's not very user-friendly. It made me wanna just close out the page rather than reading down too many stickies.
Instead, they should create one sticky that holds lists/links to those stickies organized by topics.

+1. Something to consider.

I definitely agree the Help section is a better name.

I would call it support.

Ya that's my opinion too.
BTW, I changed that op and title on that other post, cuz after RE reading it, it sounded much more incendiary than I meant.

You can't really blame them as they've put up with people who thought they were too good for the rules for so damn long. We'll ignore the fact that when you first show up in the Infuse forums, there's a forum labeled Q&A. Common sense would dictate that maybe questions should go there.
So you already showed a lack of common sense by skipping over a forum plainly labeled Q&A for all the world to see. After running blindly past that forum you ended up here in the development section. I mean yeah you really shouldn't be tossing random questions here but I could see how it could confuse you, here you see TWO CM7 threads, wow you hit the jackpot!
But once again instead of taking a minute to check those posts out, instead of using the handy dandy search tool up there ^ and instead of at least posting in one of the other CM7 related threads, you decided to say **** IT to common sense and created a brand new thread for your question.
You aren't special, the question has been asked and answered elsewhere, go forth and find the answer you seek.

I would have hoped that after 46 posts you would have some idea of where to post things, but I guess not. Ya, it was a sarcastic (yet funny) reply, brush it off and move on.

i mean cmon dude. its a question. if you connect the dots, it can easliy lead you to the Q&A... i do not see one bit of android development here... development of flaming is freaking blossoming though.

Oh but he's too good for the Q&A section... He needs a thread in the busy development section all for himself and his most important question!

our devs who left left for a better phone with better software support that isn't held back by that carrier since it can have software ported from the international version but they each may build one last rom when att drops gb, mikey is still answering in his thread and he and gtg both indicated that they may give it one last shot when the official gb drops. also entropy is still here, though he also got a gs2.

dude it's the internet, dont be so sensitive. oh and ask a mod to move this to Q&A never mind just ask it to be closed. when you get to Q&A you will se that there is a cm7 Q&A thread already there, plus closing this will stop the flaming.

[RADIO]UCLI3 Modem

Not sure exactly what this is. I just found it submitted to DevHost. It's the new radio for the skyrocket. just the radio. I looked around, didn't see anywhere else to get just the radio to flash over UCLF6. Note: This is not mine, And it has not been tested.

I can think of 3 reasons:
1) It's already posted in the sticky in this forum
2) I'm wary on anyone posting something in the Dev section and announcing that it's completely untested. There are exceptions, but those are usually reserved for known devs (in my mind)
3) There was no work done by the OP. He found something on dev-host and just posted it here (see #1).

Instead of arguing shouldn't we give our opinion how good is this modem. A lot people throughout the forum have concerns regarding the performance on the ROMs, which I think it has play fairly well in most of the ROMs I have tried. (Skyjb, slimbean, cm10, miui, orthus 7, xperianceAOKP with this modem.

That's not a bad idea. I know, I've been running it for a few days. I seem to get a bit better service then I did when I used UCLF6 and it like switches to WiFi a tad faster, if that's any correlation.

[Q] Skyrocket Launchers??

What is the best launcher to use? I want one similar if not as close as you can get to the stock UI of TouchWiz.. I miss having the stock UI, it was an amazing experience, i never used and external source / a different launcher. I'm also running a custom rom NAME: Sky-JellyBean-4.1.2) Update 11.4 ((Base T11-(11/10/12)) GS3-Touchwiz--Vs--CM 10

I gave you exactly what you asked for in my first post, a thread that outlined people's opinions about the different launchers. If you want the stock launcher, go back to stock. You won't find one exactly like it anywhere. All of them have their own benefits and negatives.

I said, I AM LOOKING FOR A LAUNCHER THAT WORKS FOR MY ROM.
To clarify i want to ask if there are any launchers out there, that are in beta. I like beta versions of launchers.

You inferred nothing you asked about launchers as in app used to replace homescreens and stuff you need to figure out what you want first kid

What ever. I'm done talking with you when there are people that can actually help me.

All custom launchers work for all ROMs.
The only launchers that might or might not work for a given system (framework-dependent) are skin-specific launchers - TouchWiz/Sense/Blur/etc launchers.
I guess you need to learn to read and appreciate the advice you've been given.

...all launchers work with all ROMs. If, for some reason, a certain launcher won't work with a certain ROM, it'll be stated in the ROM thread. Even if you grab a launcher that's incompatible, the worst it'll do is FC you back to the stock launcher. Read the launcher thread and try a few out.

Thread closed. If you want to find ROMs, head to the Development section and look at them. It's as easy as that!

We all wanted hangouts and SMS unification if there was one feature I'd love to have it would be quick reply pop up in hangouts , I'm currently using 8sms as my default app. I just hope a great Dev comes out with something similar

Doesn't belong in original development and should look in themes&apps or use the search option.
