Its not on your coverage map Verizon, but thanks So anyone around here, check your phone
They announced it as a target market for end of the year expansion, but to be on so soon? Hmm, I'll check when I go to Allentown this weekend.
Yup im on it right now... Speakeasy has me at a clean 40mb down, 20 up LOL...
This makes my cable look like a toy!

tether it to your computer and give an accurate number... the buffers on a cell phone give false reading ... our probably around 15 down and 6 up which is still fast as hell
ha, this thread made me turn LTE back on to see if they had flipped anything here in Raleigh, NC. But they haven't.
ha they turned it off again lol... bastards. On all day and boom went off
I'm here in Kutztown, was going to check. Since you said it is now off, I'll just keep my 4G disabled...
What part of the Lehigh Valley, if you don't mind me asking?
Also, on a side note, for those of you in non-4G areas, wanting an easier way to disable your 4G, there is an app that easily does it for you. Its called Phone info, and it is free in the Market made by a company called "[email protected]" Enjoy.
I'm in the scranton/wilkes-barre area. Wtf verizon. If they get it, so should I! LOL
Edit: see it's off now. Maybe it's coming sooner than we thought

Verizon did just add the Bethlehem, Allentown, Easton Leigh Valley area to their list of cities getting 4G, if they turned it on this is great news. I am in Clinton, NJ half the year, it's the middle of nowhere but 4G is a few miles from my house to the east, and Easton is just like 20-30 minutes to the west, maybe 15-20 miles. If the 4G spreads east and west to meet up by May I will be very happy.
Sweet! I'm in the Emmaus area. Going to check it out soon.

I am also here in the Lehigh Valley more specifically Bethlehem and I also saw that 4G was available through my Thunderbolt however at night my phone no longer showed that 4G was available but this morning my phone is showing that I am connected to 4G again.
Getting 4G today in Allentown but not last night in Emmaus. Will try again tonight at home.
Awesome. I have yet to notice any 4G. I live on Bethlehem, but I work out in fogelsville by rt 100. Where in Bethlehem did you see it?

Im getting it throughout bethlehem.. all the way from southside up to wegmans. Its blazing! Just wish they would keep it on lol... yesterday they turned it off around 7pm. I frowned.
Most likely they're just doing rolling tests to see if there are even people connecting to 4G and to make sure the network is stable.

Im in south Bethlehem and going through speedtest.net the website I was seeing speed around 30 down and 5 up. However my Thunderbolt no longer shows 4G it stopped showing it around 2:50 today
30 MB down, that is just sick speeds. I live in suburb of Boston and my brother in law brought his new Thunderbolt over to my house to make me pissed, he did, I'm getting about 5.5 MB down on my rooted and loaded Nexus One and thinking that was pretty damn fast he showed me that Verizon's new 4G was in fact on in my area showing about 2-3 bars inside my house and he was getting a whopping 16 MB down and some crazy # that must be wrong. Very impressive phone, I will have one by tomorrow evening. $30.00 for unlimited data is a fantastic deal. Outside he was showing 4 bars and something like 20+ MB down. Unbelievable. Absolutely fantastic device, HTC and Google make the best phones IMO.
Sadly No sign of 4G here in Bethlehem today even though there was 4G yesterday and tuesday
I had 4g yesterday in Easton, but not today!
I'm in Kutztown/Reading. Anybody else having an issue with their 3G data around here?
Did anybody notice their 4g LTE come on in Raleigh for about 15 minutes thhis afternoon, then go back off??
No clue. I'll be in Raleigh next weekend, be cool to check out 4g if it's running then. I'm in Fayetteville, we're supposed to get it summertime

I didn't see it but I was at work in zebulon not at home in the afternoon. That'd be awesome if they bring it up in the next couple weeks. Very exciting to hear.
I was in the Verizon store yesterday and they said Raliegh will be getting it next then here in Greensboro in June or July !!!
3G here in Raleigh this morning, but interested!
No LTE today, but around the same time as yesterday I had major data drops
I got 4G for about an hour in North Raleigh 3 weeks ago. Didn't see any last night, but I wasn't on my phone too much *shrug*

I have been getting 4g lte in all day today in Raleigh over by Brier Creek. Also in Durham on hwy 70 between I-85 all the way to Brier Creek. It is fast...the fastest I got was 21.5 down and 5 up here is pic to prove it.
Any 4G today in Raleigh/Durham?
Thanks

Not today so I guess it was testing...but I am thinking we should have it by the end of the May.
I just read the article in the news&observer paper this morning...
Verizon will activate its high-speed LTE wireless network in the Fayetteville-Lumberton area on Thursday. The technology has demonstrated speeds up to 10times faster than the company's current 3G network
So hopefully Raleigh isn't too far behind!!!!
Thanks
I saw the tweet too...hoping that Raleigh is going to get it...we were on the original list...kinda crappy that this "technology hotbed" is behind lumberton and wilmington
Just a note to Raleigh folks, turn your 4G radio on. I've got solid LTE signal in zebulon!
ok, looks like I lied. Walked outside and the 4G LTE icon popped up. Guess it's too weak for me to get inside at my office in Garner. Only 1.5-2Mbps down so I'm guessing they're still fine tuning things.
LTE in Durham and Chapel hill
I noticed it on yeasterday for about 15 minutes then it went off.
Ya, went back off after half hour.
Didn't see raleigh on the list for June that came out today...what's up Verizon??

Great news for the people of Colorado Springs, Colorado. 4G has hit different parts of the city. I was driving up at have hit 4G twice. 4G is still spotty and will be released to the entire city, with an official release by the end of the year. You can find 4G coverage in parts of Briargate (locals will know this area) and parts of downtown. I only had 4G for a matter of minutes, but after being with Denver and messing around with 4G I am very excited to have LTE in the area.
I'm jealous. Where I work in Northglenn (about 6 miles north of downtown Denver) I had 4G for a good two weeks but it has disappeared.

Tough to hear man.....it will be full blown by the end of this year! Good Luck!
I have 4g everywhere I live here in scottsdale/cave creek/phoenix, AZ
I'm in az as well I notice their expanding here really fast

That's what I'm hoping too.....its just around the corner and I am surprised Colo Spgs, is getting it so early.
I was under the impression that VZ stated in an official release (prior to the TB release) that COS was getting 4G in the first half of 2011. So I'm not so sure we can call this early...but I'm excited to see it fully implemented.
From what I hear from a buddy, Ft Collins is just about to be turned on full time, hopefully both cities get flipped on together. Wish Verizon wasn't so "hush hush" about proposed dates.

I read the recent PR release and nothing was mentioned about my area. I'm in Southern Indiana near Louisville KY. Louisville has had 4g since Derby but recently 4G expanded about 6 miles north of the river in New Albany, Clarksville, & Jeffersonville Indiana!
Anybody else see unexpected 4g locations?

They included Fremont, OH with the Toledo, OH upgrade. It's not officially on yet, but it is on. I don't know how much of Northwest OH was covered with the upgrade for sure though.
Been covering Penn State here for a while, never reached my house though. Recently however I've been getting LTE in the mornings at home, so they're expanding here somewhat.

They officially added Tallahassee, Florida awhile back but I rarely see 4g here. I get it at my house and a few restaurants and that's it. I've seen the 4g icon while driving but as soon as I park it normally drops to 3g. This really pisses me off because this is the only reason I left my X for the Thunderbolt.

It's nice seeing these "unofficial" additions to coverage. This is one thing I have to give Verizon props on, network expansion. They are aggressive about it. They may be shy about approving/certifying phones but they know how to build out a network fast!

maybe it's on, but they don't want to announce it because they are still testing it.
there is always the other side of the coin as well, like he originally announced markets that still have no 4g...yea I'm pointing the finger at Raleigh/Durham
Maybe the most densely populated state could get some... NEW JERSEY!?!? "why would we want to cover the most people? " silly Verizon...

I hear you. I live in Greenville, NC. You can imagine how sad I was when I saw they announced 4G for Greenville SC, not Greenville NC. As someone who is in Raleigh/Durham area a few times a month, 4G there would be nice also... but no, Wilmington gets all the 4G love. It's only because VZW has corporate headquarters in Wilmington for our area.

They're rolling it out, just unnanounced. I've had LTE in Whippany, NJ (Morris County) for a couple of weeks, and have it as well in most of the surrounding areas.
I'm in Toledo right now by the GM Power train plant and no 4g here. Soon I hope
in Toledo too, no 4g yet, i hope soon though

Don't forget Fayetteville. For some reason, Fayetteville got 4G before RDU. I found this out as I was driving down to Savannah. I picked up my phone and it said "4G LTE" while I was driving down the I-95 Fayetteville bypass, and I was like, "Huh?"
I live in the Raleigh/Durham area, and I'm originally from Winston-Salem. The latest I got from VZW is that RDU should get 4G by the end of Q3, but who knows if that's going to happen. Last I checked, the Triad was still on the list for 2011 4G, so hopefully that happens too.
I just noticed I'm now getting 4g/LTE in Austin, TX on my TBolt downtown. We haven't been in any of the notices for getting 4G yet. Anyone seeing this?
I havent had any luck at my place on 620/2222. I drive around town for my job in the morning. I will be all over downtown. I will see what happens

Hmm. I switched my network over to LTE only and only get red bars.
In fact, the only time I don't get red bars when LTE is listed is when I select CDMA+LTE/EvDo.
Then again, I'm south of Austin in Buda at the moment. I'll check in north Austin tomorrow when I'm at work (183 & Oak Knoll)
Hm. My prior reply hasn't shown up yet. Odd.
Anyway, I found information regarding 4g in Austin:
Look at news..vzw..com/news/2011/08/pr2011-08-22o.html (remove the double periods. I can't post links yet, but this is legit info)
YAY!
Odd that Austin was never mentioned in any of the earlier roadmaps yet its one of the most techie cities in the country. At the moment im at 2222 and MOPAC and no 4G, but at least this is good news.
I had no luck today. I was in Lakeway, CP, Downtown, 6th street, south austin.
wow, i always just assumed you guys had it. Temple/Killeen has had 4G for MONTHS.

Awesome man, I live in Boston and am going to be moving to Austin and I was wondering when it was going to move in!! Thanks for the update!!
It seems to have gone live early, im getting 4G right now in west austin and got it all the way during my commute (SE to NW).
