Use Skyfire or Opera Mobile 11.
You can even put in custom user agent on the latter.

Change UA Agent

Hey guys. I'm trying to change the stock browser ua agent by using the about:debug thing. But I can't seem to find it. can some one help with this?
I'm running cognition 4 if that matters.

Use SGS Tools and download the browser in there. It has UA string options under settings

Roms

I know this probably isn't the right place to be asking but I've been having trouble finding answers. I'm currently on CM7. I'm trying to find other roms that allow you to set the custom user agent. Any ideas?

Are you talking about the browser useragent? You can change that in most 3rd party browsers by looking through their settings, or in the stock browser by typing "about:debug" in the address bar (without the quotes), hitting Go and then changing the useragent in the browser settings.
For mms actually.

Browser question

OK, my wife has a kindle fire and she is able to switch her web browser to where it won't show mobile sites but full web pages. Can we do this? I've looked but can't find anything. I'm fully stock with ics.

Type "about:debug" into the browser's address bar and hit enter
Click the menu and enter settings.
Go to Debug and change the UAString to desktop.
This method is universal with almost every android device.

Also on menu is 'request as desktop site'.

That didn't do anything but the second one I was able to find. I guess I never noticed it before. Thanks!

Request desktop site will not display the desktop version of all sites by default.
Changing the UAString in settings does....
If you hit enter after you type about:debug then hit enter, nothing noticeable should happen. It will however give you the debug options in settings where you could change your UAString setting to desktop.
Once you close the browser it will clear your debug settings, but you can activate it again by typing about:debug then hit enter and it will immediately load your prior debug settings.
If it doesn't work for you then your doing something wrong.
I use this on the Xoom and my Android phone since the "request desktop site" option doesn't work for most of the sites I do business in.

I see! Here's how you do it:
Type about:debug in the adress bar. (nothing seems to happen but it does)
Go to settings and the last alternative, it probably says something like debug (my tablet ain't in English).
Set the UAString to desktop (or whatever you prefer).
Hope this do the trick for you
