hi folx,
i have a T-D1 brand software on my mda and have a e-plus card inside, so i canĀ“t send SMS nor MMS. any idea how to change this?
I get a Fawlty Towers feeling here, so go to the phone settings -> services tab & get the settings for 'voice mail and sms' from the network. Compare these with the one's you got from e-plus. For MMS go to the connection settings & create a new gprs connection for MMS according to the e-plus values & use that one in your MMS app.
Cheers, M
hi guys, i'm on O2 UK, and got the 'HTC Touch Curise' from exspansys.
i've received 2 mms which my phone hasn't downloaded...
not liking this idea of mms and sms in one folder, as when i want to check/change the mms settings just get the sms settings.
the phone automatically done all the settings for me when first turned on, grps works (normally in HSDPA), so not a generally connection problem, but were on my orbit and uni i had 'O2 active' settings which mms connected through that's not set, but as said above there no option (which i've found) to choose a connection setting anyway
has anyone else had the same problem? or got any ideas?
cheers guys
This one's a nightmare! I've been on the phone to O2 for the last three nights in a row for the same problem.
Each time I phone I'm told MMS wasn't properly provisioned on my account, but that they will do it for me, and I then have to wait 24 hours for it to work.
I can now send MMS, but receiving is a bit sporadic. It gets to 99% downloaded and then either it appears, or it just goes blank, and tries again.
So frustrating!
I know it's set-up because i've had this number for 2.5-3 years, it worked on my Exec, my Orbit, so why not now....
did your phone add the "O2 Active" settings now? and can you access settings for mms?
Hi,
I'm not in the Uk, and not on O2, but I had a similar problem with receiving and sending mms on my HTC cruise, which I bought last week.
Luckily I was able to solve the problem, and I can send and receive mms falwlessly now.
What you have to do is to enter the mms setings manualy, after getting them from your network's website. I'm sure you can also call customer's service and ask them for the settings (what you need is: the gateway no. , port no., server address, and sending limit)
go to start menu > messaging > tap and enter the sms\mms window, tap on menu at the lower right corner, and select mms options, tap on servers at the bottom, there you may see different settings names - tap new, and here you can enter the mms settings that you got from your network. In the "connect via" drop-down list select my ISP, wap version 2.0. Tap done, and make sure you mark your new setting as default.
This should solve the problem. At lease it solved mine
You may need a soft reset after entering the new settings.
Good luck

Click to collapse
Yes it did, and there's a program called "O2 Settings" or similar in the program menu which reloads the settings, which I tried a number of times.
I also entered the settings manually, but they were already all correct.
From a few tests, it seems I can receive an MMS from Vodafone but not from T-Mobile. Need to test more to be 100% sure though.
MMS has been around for years now, you would think they could get it right!
I've had a search of the forum and can't find anything related.
I flashed my S710 (actually Vodafone V1415) with Dr. Gonzos excellent WM6.1 ROM a few months back and its been fantastic so far.
My only issue is that I cannot send MMS messages? I get an error saying 'unable to send message' and they just sit in the outbox until the message fails and is moved to drafts.
I've used the HTC connection setup utility and my GPRS settings and connection work fine but I just can't send MMS messags.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks
check vodafone's site, they may changed the gateway ip and the other parameters.
I had issues getting MMS to work as well.
I am on O2 but this is worth a try:
Run the HTC connection wizard
MMS > Menu > Tools > Options
Account settings > Menu > MMSC Settings
'o2 active' (this will obviously be the Vodafone equivalent) MMS > Menu > Edit
Change the current 'connect via' to 'WAP Network'
This got mine working - I hope it works for you.
Thanks for the suggestions but still no go...
Anyone with 6.1 on contract Vodafone who could possibly share their settings?
Thanks
Hi
I have a two-pronged issue:
1. Changed my operator from Cellcom to Orange in Israel and receive a msg "The operator does not exist in the database. Please contact your operator for connecting settings". In Settings > Connection Setup I select Israel and the Orange does not appear as operator only Cellcom.Do I need to get Orange onto the Database? How?
2. Trying to access the Web and get msg "There is a problem connecting to the GPRS service in your registered home network".
Can anyone help me with these two issues?
Thanks
Brian
i had the same problem yesterday with o2 pay as you go gprs (the only option available was o2 contract gprs or other countries) you would have to manually find the connection details, calling customer support should get the details you need, then enter then through start -> settings -> connections (tab) -> connections -> manage existing connections/add a new connection
then you can edit/add your gprs connection for your carrier.
i am using 6.1 which came on my XDA orbit 2 so it might differ slightly
Been using Raphael for nearly two years on vodafone, no problems. It was a contract phone. Unlocked out of the box, flashed spl and elite rc3 the next day. also no problems whatsoever.
Now, bought another phone and let my missus have Raph. All is good and well but for the life of me i cant figure out how to add a messaging center number, since the phone cannot SEND texts. Fine with receiving though.
Whats tried:
1. Settings > Personal > Phone > Services > VMail and Text Messages > Get settings.
Result - Reading from network and then network error, reading "Cannot read settings from the network. Try viewing settings later or disconnect data connection and try again." Data connection is on, but it can be more of the same - settings are wrong for data connection. Also tried to use my wifi as data - no dice.
2. Settings > Connections > Advanced Network > SMS Setvice > set to GSM (Originally "GSM Preferred").
Other sources indicate that its HERE that should be messahing center number filled in, but there are no fillable fields apart from pulldown to change "SMS Over", options are GSM, GSM Preferred, GPRS, GPRS Preferred. And thats it...
The card i try to run is O2 Pay-Go.
I'm out of ideas. Help...
