HTC Sensation GPU Drivers - HTC Sensation

Hello
Just a thought... from the Old WinMo days HTC did not purchase Drivers from Qualcomm for their SoCs thereby gimping their phones.
Wondering if HTC might be doing the same for Sensation.
Can any1 take a look into this?
THanks

very true and good idea

Isn't that what they did to the HTC Touch? That sounds familiar.

[Q] New fast phone?

Hi,
At the moment I am using a HTC Desire and I find it to be to slow and the internal storage is to small.
Can someone recommend a fast dual core phone?
I have been looking at Samsung Galaxy s2 or perhaps som 3D phone...

This. You've answered your own question.
Maybe LG optimus 2X
My wife has gotten an Atrix 4g (AT&T), which recently got a gingerbread update. It's a beast of a phone, and quite fast.
The whole idea of the "webtop" dock for it, is just ridiculous to me though, especially since it costs more than a netbook.
*edit*
also worth note, it has 16gb built in user storage and 1gb of RAM.

I loved my Desire and never thought I would leave HTC until I got my SGSII.
Man, I looooooove my phone now
Hi guys, I know I'm a little off-topic, but not that much.
I would like your opinion on weather I should get an HTC Desire for about $330 or a Milestone 2 for about $530, or even de Defy for the same $530.
I ask because the hardware specs are very similar for the three, but i Know the desire is older.
Thank you.
Thx, I Will check the spec on them...

Total thread hijack if you ask me
Samsung s2 or sensation
HTC Sensation !!! a good one.
Samsung Galaxy S2 is at the Moment the King under the Smartphones!
Or maybe you can wait a little longer for the HTC 3D EVO.
That's a really nice piece that you can feel the 3D vision without any glasses.
Cool~~~~

Sorry about that, I'll make my own thread.
As a sensation owner I would say have play with both of them ( and look through the general sections on xda), the sensations gets stupidly hot for no reason and because the antennas are in the back cover the gsm/wcdma and wifi both have death grip issues.. as far as performance I know the sgs II is the fastest and has a better more well saturated screen but if I am no mistaken also gets really hot.... thats bench marks fast but I dont see any slow down on the sensation games play perfectly and the UI with customs roms is blisteringly fast...
hard decisions for you
Oh, I see a few more people have jumped in... Still not sure what to get... I shall look around... I not to sure about the 3d... The one I looked at hurt my eyes...
Probably will keep using my desire awhile longer... Need more memory... Need to decide soon!

The Samsung Galaxy S II has the better screen, and from what I've seen it makes better pictures. Also the battery for the SGSII is better: Li-Ion 1650 mAh vs. the Li-Ion 1520 mAh from the HTC Sensation. But the differences are not that great, and the HTC Sense from the Sensation is a great UI, and if you use a custom ROM from LeeDrOiD you can get a greater experience from the Sensation.
For day-to-day usage I would get the HTC Sensation, the Phone UI is the best out there. You may find similar apps on the market that mimic the Phone UI, but it's not the same.
And until you get your new device, try a ROM that has data2EXT. This will increase your internal storage to up to 2GB. Most HTC Desire Custom ROMs have this data2EXT option. Go here -> Desire Index - Everything Desire is here!

[Q] Is it possible to port WP7 to powerful devices like evo 3d OR one x?

Hi all great developers,
I have done some research as I always do before trying to post a new thread.
My question to all you guys is this..
Has anyone considered porting WP7 to devices such as evo 3d or some of those devices with mind boggling hardware specs?
If yes please direct me there.
If no, is it not a high time to start thinking on these lines?
Thank you guys, you guys have made life a lot better for a lot of people.

Sorry, my bad. I actually intended to say just sensation or sensation XE. My point was, the devices with dual core processors..

You should change the title of the topic ... that's pretty misleading

Good news: ICS drivers

As some of you may have seen on the portal, Qualcomm is releasing drivers for the Adreno 2xx series of GPUs for ICS. The article mostly talks about S1 devices, but does mention that S2 devices such as the MT4G stand to benefit as well. At this point, I think we'll all take any good news regarding ICS that we can get our hands on!

Ummm?
HOORAY!
Yeahh baby!!
That's real good news

This is incredible news!
Looks like someone beat me to posting this. lol but yeah this should definitely help out with ICS development on this device.
These are generic Adreno 200 drivers, and not updated Adreno 205 drivers.
While useful for old devices like N1 and Desire, I'd think they're of little to no use for MT4G, which will have the same drivers as both Desire HD and Desire S, both getting official ICS.

[Q] Sensation outdated?

Do you think the HTC Sensation will be outdated in let's say 2 years? I mean that if it will be able to play most of the games in Play Store and not become laggy...
Is it worth paying 350 USD extra to get a One X instead?
It's already outdated
I dont think its outdated already, because im planning to install ARHD and overclock the CPU to 1,5 ghz, it will be the same power as in the Galaxy S II
But with the Ons, One X and SIII about to come out it's outdated
Yes, the One Series and the SIII will sure beat the Sensation, but i think the Sensation will not be too far behind...
I may try to use magic to get those 350 dollars

Hi,
It's the same with anything.
The moment you walk out of the shop with it,it becomes outdated,as something better is already in the pipeline.
Computers,
phones,
tablets,
cars,
Hi-Fi
etc.
etc.

The denial is strong in this one.
Tell I what I had to replace my stolen galaxy s2 with a sensation recently. With the virtuous inquisition rom I actually prefer the sensation, rom support for it far exceeds that of sii.

the hd2 leo is still alive after 2 years thanks to this awesome forum...
I think that our sensation will not be outdated for more than a year...
NOW I think is a top smartphone, until the one series comes out it is still a top quality and performance smartphone...and absolutely not outdated!...
I see that we have a great support, and our phone can handle everything, the hardware is good...
I think we will be outdated in 1 year....but still supported for 2
**** the S3 will be another typical Samsung children's toy.... plastic crap... and new phones com out a lot... they get outdated probably about a year and a half later... no sensation is not outdated.. and what's the hype about the One series... for T-Mobile its pretty much the same as the Amaze....

S4G is still rockin & holding it's own for me!
the sensation is still great. hopefully the roms keep coming and devolpment keeps on going for it. i see it being good until mid 2013. then ill pick up the hotest thing thats out. but for right now, im really happy with this

[Q] Running Windows phone 8 on Sensation phones

Hi all
I really would like to run Windows Phone 8 on my Sensation XE.
I think its getting easier to run WP8 specialty after the announcement of the new HTC 8x because its almost the same as Sensation's specifications.
Am not developer but am wondering if we just can think about the idea
Thanks all.

Yeah but it uses an S4 and Adreno 225.
Yeah, I'm going to have to say there's a pretty good chance that doesn't happen Bro.

Could be why not! It needs to much work though!
HTC HD2 ran Windows phone 7 with 720p video recording! Those were glory days! Still miss my HD2's!
Windows is closed source, and distributing it would be illegal. I don't think you'll ever see a sensation running WP.
