i am going to buy a new hd device but i am confused . which is better the htc evo 4g or htc desire hd ? I need answers with analysis . thanks
I would stay away from the hd2. its a windows phone, not that many apps, and it just sucks in general. as for the other phones, my choice would be the evo.
Just Like the last person said. Hd2 is a windows mobile phone which isn't a bad thing in my personal opinion, but it will not compete with an android phone. Especially an evo. My first smartphone was a windows mobile phone which I bought a year ago and I absolutely loved it BUT 2 Months ago I bought a cheap Android device to See what the hype was all about. And since then I've upgraded 2x. I'm now using a droidX and if I weren't in a contract with verizon I'd get an evo next. As you probably know the evil claim to fame its faster 4g network capability. But... if you want to take advantage of this it will cost you an extra 10 dollars a month from what I've been told otherwise you will be using the same 3g network as everybody else. Also 4g is only available in a very few markets around the country so if you were buying it just to get faster internet then I would definitely make sure that I am in 1 of those areas first. According to all the reviews and evo owners it is a great phone wether your using 3g or 4 g and it's definitely 1 of the top 5 phones out right now. Hd2 Probably isn't in the top 15. The hd2 Can do lots of the same things as an android phone But the apps are often hard to find and often contain and lots of bugs. The good news is 4g will expand to include the rest of the country within the next couple years. You may want to take into consideration that there are rumors that much better devices will be coming out in the beginning of 2011 and supposedly there are going to be some with dual processors. So you may want to consider waiting a few extra months before buying a new phone and committing to a contract. I hope this helps you.

guys i asked about the desire hd not the htc hd2 . anyway thanks at all
Oops. Sorry. Lol. That was 20 minutes of my life wasted on a useless post lol. At least now you have a basic analysis on the evo. I don't hear about the desire very often. I would still go with the evo.
UPDATE: I changed my mind. I looked into the desireHD, its gonna be faster and more efficient since it uses a newer upgraded snapdragon processor and gpu combo along with more memory. Plus the camera has been upgraded with a new bigger sensor improving pic quality. Also mentioned was the use of an updated Sense UI. I didn't see anything about it using 4g so im not sure about that. It doesn't have the foreward facing camera like the Evo though. Evos battery is 18% larger but the HDH is more efficient so battery life should be about the same.
NOW THAT SHOULD BE A LOT MORE HELPFUL!

lol not quite sure i understand you, my Touch HD which runs wino can run android via its sd card as can my hd2 (obviously alot faster)
Many winmo devices can run droid of some version, but droid devices do not run windows.

Some news of a HTC pyramid have appeared. It is going to have a 4.3" qHD screen dual cored running android.
Going to be on T-Mobile.
Can this phone take the HD2's crown?
Sent from my T-Mobile G2 using XDA App
It's a very level playing field right at present. Any new devices that come out now are more likely to be evolutionary rather than revolutionary.
HTC stole a march on the market and took their competitors by surprise with the HD2, but i don't see that happening again for a while.
Its a 1.2ghz dual cored.
I guess the xdas will wait for like a super phone that makes the others looks like flip phones?
Sent from my T-Mobile G2 using XDA App
Dual core, not dual cored.
We'll see how much interest it gets. HD2 got so much interest because it was available everywhere to everyone.
There are many Dual core phones coming out, but to beat the HD2, its need to be able to have different OS's on it

A international phone does have alot of advantages
Sent from my T-Mobile G2 using XDA App
Agreed XDA and DFT did it. If the rumored internals are true then I expect it will be a device that if cracked has the potential to be an actual Hd2 upgrade. I have an account upgrade waiting so I will love my Hd2 and see if this wonder hits the world or not. May make a great 2nd phone.
Maybe we've all be spoiled by the HD2, but I still don't think any currently-announced dual cores have the effect that it has like the HD2 did. Like DirkGently1 said, they've all been evolutionary thus far but none has been revolutionary...the Atrix came close, though.
Hi, im looking to buy a htc phone. and would like some suggestions as to which one?
i have previously owned a htc wildfire which i thought was too slow and not capable to run some games. However, the android software itself was great.
I have heard that the htc desire, is the next upgrade from the wildfire?
Which htc phone would you recommend priced reasonably and has a decent cpu which does not tend to run slow and is capable to run most games and apps?
any suggestions are much appreciated.
Htc evo or thunderbolt if u need a phone right now but if your in no hurry and could wait wait for the htc evo 3d
Hi, ok ill have a look into them phones.
btw, im from the uk and if im right not all the models which are available in the us are for sale in the uk?
that can be done by googling
The htc evo has great awsome dev support which allow us tons of different custom roms and themes. most of the devs that are for the evo are going to the evo 3d so the evo 3d is gonna get a bunch of great devolophers so yeah i recommend evo or evo 3d
the UK phone-market is almost identical to that of Australia. here the best options are probably the Incredible S or just wait a little while and get the market topping Sensation.
Both good phones with enough CPU power to chew through all average apps!
Desire S is great in upper end but Wildfire S is superb for medium range...
okay thanks for the suggestions so far.
ive narrowed it down too 2 phones
the htc desire hd and the desire s.
which one would you say is the better from the 2?
regards.
HTC desire hd

You do gaming. My suggestion bought used HD2 TMOUS with 1024 ROM you can do alot with this dinosaurus. The beast is considered OLD but this is one of Masterpiece of htc released. I hold IncrAPdible S now with (very sad S-ON) upgraded to 2.3.3 by htc via FOTA. But I also hold HD2 wwe version. I loved HD2. I will not buy HTC again unless they confirmed no other locked the boot-loader. I search a lot of web pages no lucks to find how to root my IncrAPdible S.
Go and get HD2, make dual boot then you can play any games you like
have great day
I have the HD2 right now. Is the Sensation worth the upgrade? There is obviously not the HUGE dev community behind the Sensation in comparison to the HD2...
Easily worth the upgrade due to the much, much newer architecture. Even locked it has *AWESOME* written all over it.
There's no development on Sensation right now, as the means to unlock it has yet to be released.
This is (along with the Evo3D) HTC's new flagship, so it's bound to have proper development in time.

I would suggest you go for the Samsung galaxy s2 unless you are a die hard htc fan
I had a hero and HD7 and thought I d jump ship and see how samsung phones work
Quiet happy , won't say its all goody but you can easily update to new firmware without the need to root via a software called ODIN
Already on 2.3.4 and never been happy..
Also I think the camera is slightly better than sensation
Just my thoughts
If possible go in a store and play with them both, you may get a bit of any idea of which one you fall in love with

TMobile USA doesn't have the S II yet unfortunately, and to be honest, I'm not sure if they're even getting it. I could get it off NewEgg or eBay but from what I hear, all I will get is Edge, not 4G.
In a few months this phone will have a lot of roms. No need to change.

GSII isn't worth it without 3G. If it were on T-Mobile then I would say get it instead of the Sensation. I know I will hang up my Sensation if it ever gets to T-Mobile.

I don't have HD2 or owned one, so i don't know if it's big upgrade. Maybe someone else can answer that. But the Sensation and the EVO3D are the 2 new flagships of HTC. So there is a good chance there will be a huge community, and a lot of roms and other stuff for both of them.

Im not sure about the GSII but everyone knows about the Hercules. It might have a 4,5 inch display and a different chipset but nobody is really sure yet. Its actually rumored to have the Adreno 220 which will probably be a lot faster than it is on the Sensation due to the ****ty HTC drivers and not having a UI with useless eye candy.

Maybe so, but it all depends on how u use the phone. If all the apps and games are still running good, why upgrade. That would be my thought. It's all personal.
But if you want to upgrade, because you want to download stuff a second faster or load apps/games a second faster, or whatever reason, this phone will be a nice upgrade.

Yeah, I mean the HD2 supports 7 meg HSDPA, but I usually get about 2...The thing that attracts me, is the better camera, and dual core CPU.
I was using an Android flashed HD2 up until I dropped it last week and shattered the screen. I had ordered a new digitizer from fleabay but when it arrived it was damaged so I got impatient and ordered a new Sensation instead. I just got it today and, even though I was more than happy with the HD2 and had no plans to upgrade, I have to say I'm very glad I did. The HD2 was is a very awesome phone but after using the Sensation it now feels like it was v rough around the edges. The Sensation is silky smooth - and that's while we're still running on stock!!
I say upgrade. You'll not regret it.

Thanks for the input. And with TMobile planning to upgrade nationwide network speeds, maybe it's not a bad idea. Part of me still wants to wait to see if I can get the Galaxy S II...
Decisions decisions....
I've gone from HD2 > Sensation. Got the HD2 as soon as it came out.
The Sensation is fantastic...a huge leap from the HD2...obviously much faster/slicker...much nice to look at and hold, screen is so much better than the HD2 it's not funny.
Development will come soon
Which phone do you predict will have the most support?
I predict it will be the Galaxy S3, for the time being, Galaxy Nexus is the most supported phone from a development perspective.
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using XDA App
the HTC tegra 3 Device i suppose
From what I have experienced with my previous Tegra 2 phone is that NVidia are not open source which means they don't give out their source making it harder to develop.
Don't get me wrong though, Tegra is super powerful but developments wise, not so sure.
For these reasons I will say that Samsung might get more development support in 2012.

Its literally the most supported phone (and best phone) in the world.

Absolutely right! HD2 is the most supported phone ever with 5 different platforms (windows mobile, windows phone, android, ubuntu and meego). So u say galaxy nexus? Are you crazy
I also had it and sold it to buy a sensation. It made me taste all these different os' with only one phone. Absolutely the best phone ever.. Thanks HTC and XDA
Excluding the HD2, I'd go for the GS3. The Galaxy Nexus will be well supported too.

Yeap, assuming that Samsung keeps innovating and assuming that they use their own processor and keep releasing their code source which btw, it is most likely a yes to all of the above , I think it will be the next big phone for development and consumers.
Samsung reputation in the mobile world went really high in 2011 and for what I have seen HTC and other companies could see themselves losing a lot of loyal customer if they don't step up their game.
Anyway, I don't deny the fact that the HD2 had been and still is one of the most supported devices but I am also stating that the Galaxy Nexus has the most active development going on at the moment.

Samsung Galaxy Note
For the following reasons:
Decent spec.
screen real-estate.
it's Samsung.
the kind of person who is going to buy that kind of hardware is likely to be passionate about it and probably going to want to make the best out of it (e.g.: Devs)
just my 0.02$.
I was not aware the HD2 had so much support, but it's pretty much guaranteed that the Galaxy Nexus is and will be a safe bet. That said, I had the GN 16Gb, and I was not impressed with the hardware, at least from a cost standpoint. I switched back to the Sensation, half the price for very similar specs.
