Lost 4g with OTA EE4 update - Verizon Droid Charge

My path
AB 4.11 -->Rooted ED1 (via odin) -->ED2 (via OTA) --> EE4 (via update.zip)
Verified EE4 listed in about phone, and 6 signal bars.
Started over, this time path was:
Rooted ED1 (via odin) -->EE4 (via OTA)
Verified EE4 listed in about phone, and 6 signal bars.
Still NO 4g AT ALL. toggled between CDMA and LTE, restarted phone countless times...
I need help please.

Update:
4g works in other places, no longer works around my neigborhood.
Before the update I had 4 bars of signal and 4g. After update i have 6 bars of signal but no 4g.
I was averaging 4g dl speeds of 12-25 mbps/sec, now i can't get it at all at home.
I guess I'll find out after work, but I wonder if I needed to get to a primary 4g area to have the roaming/tower list updated, if this is the case, it may work when I get back home, since it works on 4g closer to the city.

Nobody has a clue?

You gave people 4 hours at the beginning of the work day to answer, maybe they're doing something more important, like you know, working?
Have you considered calling Verizon? If 4G is still working elsewhere, then there isn't much anyone here can do. Maybe they are playing with the towers in your area.

4 hours is an eternity on these boards... LOL
Point taken, just freaking out a bit. I'll contact verizon tomorrow if I still do not have 4g in a previously strong 4g area.

For starters, EE4 only gives us 5 bars
I don't know if it fixed much though. Seems the same, sometimes worse. GPS didn't change, gooooo Samsung.

Good catch...5 bars...
Has anyone got the one click call-back feature in call history screen working? Doesn't for me, just acts same as usual.

If the one click callback is the phone icon on the far right, then yes. I don't remember how it used to look.

Yep, that icon, when I click it it does not call, instead it brings you to the contact screen for that person in which you have to click the "call" button.
I am absoluetely on EE4 as verified by using settings-->about and presence of 5 bar signal meter.
If you click that phone icon, does it actually place the call for you?

I'm on EE4, and no, this does not place a call for me. You can, of course, just press name and swipe right to call, or left to message.

Thanks for the swipe info..I didn't know that!
However, the EE4 update clearly lists:
"Easily return calls within the call log entry by pressing the phone icon."
So I guess there patch has bugs, or is incomplete.

That is the message I get when people send me pics or videos from certain phones. I click on that message as if to download it manually, but it pops back up with the same message.
I have tried to reset the phone, clear the messages, have sender re-send......nothing works.
Is this a known bug? Do I have a setting wrong?
no this is not a bug. you must have the data connection ON to receive an MMS. then you could turn it off when you received the message.
I receive text messages no problem. I do not receive picture or video texts, I just get the above mentioned message?
Reset the phone, checked all setting, updated PRL and Profile.............STILL wont work!
Update:
I can no longer send picture messages either!
I had the same problem tonight then it went away. Maybe a brief issue?
Sent from my SGH-i937 using Board Express
This has been going on for a week.
I just sat on the phone with Sprint (whose customer service has gone downhill faster than Joe Paternos career) customer care, tech support, and finally escalations.
Tried to send refresh notices to the phone, we re-did all the updates (profile & PRL), and finally sent me some sample picture texts, still nothing!
Any thoughts from the great minds at XDA?
You have to have cellular data ON you can not get pic/video over wifi for some reason. so go to settings -> cellular -> data connection = ON

And you have a data connection? Like you aren't in a dead spot for coverage? Is your phone one that is sold by your current carrier? Do you have a custom ROM on it? If yes perhaps restore it to factory. If that doesnt work I am out of ideas. I had this problem and found out its becuase I had cellular data turned off (battery saving trick I use)
EDIT: You don't have ICS on do you? Or if you did but don't currently, try turning it on then off again and see if that helps.
All stock, bought from Sprint, still on Sprint. No custom ROM. Cell data is always on as I get loads of texts from work. This is killing me because my job also sends me a lot of picture messages, and I have been having to have them email them to me recently.
What is ICS?
Internet Connection Sharing
Hmmm.....where do I find that setting? I dont remeber changing it, but.........

I dont have that option under settings.
Lots of others including one called internet, but on internet sharing, and no ICS.

[Q] CM 10 issues

Hello,
I would like to know if anyone is experiencing these issues after flashing to CM 10 (nightly or M2) and if you are experiencing them have you found a fix.
1. When I am in a 4G LTE area my service drops and keeps switching between 3G and H+ but it never picks up LTE.
2. It takes a really long time to send a MMS.
3. Screen times out when typing in the quick reply box for texting.
Thanks in advance.

Hmm, it seems kept only getting 4G the other day regardless what I did. After reregistering my network (Settings -> More... -> Mobile Networks -> Network operators -> AT&T) now every time I text it would go 3G/HSPA+ then back to 4G so I though that was normal.
I don't get any lag when I'm texting anyone. and when I go to quick reply it screen doesn't time out.
This is on the 101412 build. I did reinstall my stuff last night to get the new gapps 101112 but I doubt that would've made any difference.
I would try re-registering your network and see if that helps any.

I just re-registered. I'll wait for a few hours to see if I notice any differences. Hopefully that'll fix some of my issues.

Looking for ROM for perm rooted evo shift

I really do not care if it is butt ugly, I just want a ROM that works with the phone's features:
examples that I can think of:
USB -- able to connect to PC as a usb drive
WiMax -- able to connect to the Sprint WiMax network. That is why I bought the phone in the first place.
3G data -- it is so slow that if it doesn't work I really dont care
built in keyboard -- if that doesnt work what is the point of having this phone?
bluetooth -- I have an A2DP headset that I want to be able to use for music & phone calls
i need it to work with the GPS / Navigation software
i would like to search and get apps from the Market
So far I have tried the following and they do not meet that bar:
Evervolv nightly 10-26-13
Evervolv release 3.2.0.p1
CM 7.2.0
This phone has been out forever, can anyone point me to a ROM that does this?

I have been working with SupremeSense XII for the past few days:
Somewhere in the rooting process, my data profile settings got messed up, but the ROM let me update my data profile and that is all taken care of.
So far, I can report that Wifi works as expected. So does 3G.
I have not had the chance to test the WiMax yet, because even though I am in the "best" coverage area I get zero bars of signal in my apartment.
(Added the folloiwng 10/31/13) Last night I was able to connect, get an ip and open a webpage on WiMax while I was at work. Outside here at home the signal says poor??? I walked all around the building, and it never changed. (end of new info)
I was able to pair with my old phone using bluetooth and transfer over all of my contacts. I haven't had a chance yet to use my headset.
Although the Supreme Sense ROM has an option to take screen shots by pressing the power button and home button simultaneously, I am not coordinated enough to do it. aScreenshot seems to be working fine for that.
I was able to get a voicemail widget on the main screen but it does not seem to show if I have any messages waiting.
I was able to put a missed call counter on the main screen, but I have not missed any calls yet to see if it works, lol.
I have a gmail counter on the home screen and the unread message counter works great.
SMS Unread Count installs but it crashes when I try to put it on the home page.
I like to have a different ringtone for any calls that come in that are not in my contact list. I was able to easily accomplish this using Group Ringtone Lite.
I have the phone underclocked using SetCPU.
WiFi Ruler and WiFi Power saver work like a charm.
So, thank you very much for the advice! The only thing I have thrown at this so far that doesn't work is SMS Unread Count!

Mobile data connection freezing problems - G930F

I bought my S7 less than a week ago and I notice something odd happening with my mobile data connection.
When I'm using 3G (Mobilcom-debitel_Vodafone/Germany), my connection is consistently laggy. Every action that I require connection for takes a couple of seconds to be executed, if executed at all. For instance, click to download an image/audio/video/etc in whatsapp, it takes 5+ sec to start the download; open the browser, takes 5+ sec to load the page; open Deezer, takes 5+ sec to start loading the data... and so on. I notice this problem since the first time I used 3G on the phone. Everything is up-to-date and I installed the phone from scratch, app by app, no backup/transfer from other phone. On my previous S6 I didn't have this problem.
Some information that might be useful:
- I use 3G/2G (auto-connect), no LTE/3G/2G
- I'm usually with BT/Wifi/3G enabled at the same time, not necessarily connected to a device or network
- The data icon keeps the up arrow on, but the down arrow off until I actually receive data and the request is processed
- If I try to turn off the mobile data connection/put in airplane mode, it takes the same amount of time for the connection icon to disappear (5+ seconds)
Is it a known issue? Anyone with the same problem?
Try to restore your phone. helped me with the same problem.

Just checking: you know that the phone is brand new, 2 days old, right? Just checking... Also, since the first time I went outside to use 3G I noticed the problem.
Did you have this Problem by using WiFi only?
2nd Option is run a Speedtest (Ookla) to Check the ping.

I did it already and there are no problems there, as you can see below. 3G speed on my plan is limited to 21mbps.

On a side note, I did a reset of the network settings and apparently it got better. I'm still testing it, can't say yet it's fixed, but I noted some improvement for sure.

As I posted, resetting network settings was apparently a solution, but this morning it was clear that something was still pretty odd.
I will consider starting from scratch. I'm so lazy, it takes a long while to config the whole phone again, but apparently it's worth a try.

"No signal found for mobile networks" Nougat update bug?

Has anyone else been having this error???? Never happened until I updated to 7.0, the phone will say "No signal found for mobile networks" after sending a sms, when CLEARLY in the screenshot I am still connected to 4G with full bars. Only way to bring it out of it is if I make a phone call to someone, then quickly hang up.

My signal was a little wonky after I first updated, but seems too be fine now.
im having the same issue. its only after i reboot the phone or full shut down and power up. making a phone call is the only way i can start sending and receiving text messages. Not sure if it has anything to do with me being on Total Wireless? I have done 3 or 4 full wipe and restores some through the phone and 1 through Odin via the new Nougat tar file. still doing the same thing.
I am on TotalWireless as well. In Mobile Network Settings I have to use Global Mode in order to have full functionality of Calls|Text|3g/4g Data. Using LTE/CDMA mode I have 4g Data and can place phone calls, but I can't receive calls or send/receive texts.
After setting Global Mode and rebooting the phone you should have full functionality. If you don't, customer service may need to reprovision your phone, or delete and re-add it back on your account. If you do have to deal with Total Wireless CS, I would highly suggest using chat.

Downgrading back to QA1 fixes the issue so i doubt its a provisioning issue with Total Wireless but maybe i will give them a call, thank you!
