Hello,
I would like to know if anyone is experiencing these issues after flashing to CM 10 (nightly or M2) and if you are experiencing them have you found a fix.
1. When I am in a 4G LTE area my service drops and keeps switching between 3G and H+ but it never picks up LTE.
2. It takes a really long time to send a MMS.
3. Screen times out when typing in the quick reply box for texting.
Thanks in advance.

Hmm, it seems kept only getting 4G the other day regardless what I did. After reregistering my network (Settings -> More... -> Mobile Networks -> Network operators -> AT&T) now every time I text it would go 3G/HSPA+ then back to 4G so I though that was normal.
I don't get any lag when I'm texting anyone. and when I go to quick reply it screen doesn't time out.
This is on the 101412 build. I did reinstall my stuff last night to get the new gapps 101112 but I doubt that would've made any difference.
I would try re-registering your network and see if that helps any.

I just re-registered. I'll wait for a few hours to see if I notice any differences. Hopefully that'll fix some of my issues.
Thanks

Haven't had this phone very long so I know nothing about the radios. Not sure how much of this matters but I'm on i9020t, currently at&t but soon tmobile, east coast/appalachian area, running JellyB-tsm (4.2.1). Thing is, I went and flashed one of the five I downloaded and it worked so I moved on, now I'm getting bad calls and wifi problems.
Different but related problem, see post 3...

Re: [Q] Most recent radio?
Just flashed the latest radio on the sprint model. It increased my call quality and wifi issues I was having.
Read through the radio thread I know some of them help in some areas but make other signals worse.

Alright so here's my recent issue. Just switched from at&t sim to tmobile sim. I entered the apn settings straight talk says I should and I'm getting excruciatingly slow data. I stumbled across a few different settings for tmobile apn and none of them even gave me a connection. I'm about to start flashing radio after radio to see if anything works but if someone knows something else that might fix it (ie working apn settings) let me know.
Sorry this is so big but upload isn't working here.

This is where I got them but it doesn't really say much about them.
9020a and 9020t have different radio hardware
they are not interchangeable
...so i would ASSume neither are the sim cards
fwiw
Please check IMEI label under the battery for your actual phone model.
An i9020a won't work on 3G 1700 band, you are getting 2G GPRS data speed (the little G on signal icon)
Apparently I'm just not in tmobile's 3g network, didn't even occur to me considering every other major provider works great here. I also didn't realize that just the G symbol was 2g or it probably would have clicked. So anyone wanna trade a 20t for 20a?
And both sims worked, but with the at&t card I only had an edge connection.
Thought I put this here, in case someone has the same issue.
Just got my Orange UK S4. Orange also run a 4G network called EE, and my phone is EVR ie EE network coded.
My contract is NOT on the 4G network, since I didnt need it.
My first attempt at using the internet connection (away from wifi) was a download of a 1.5meg PDF attachment in the email app, and it was ridiculous slow, like it took 5 mins
Also the browser was not responding or downloading data at all.
So had a brain wave and went into network settings/more networks/mobile networks/network mode/ and changed from 2g/3g/4g, to "2g/3g"
and this solved the issue perfectly.
I think the problem is that in the 4G mode, the phone keeps trying repeatedly (like for every packet) to connect in 4g, and gets rejected by the network, so downshifts to 3g or HDSPA for downloading one packet, and repeats the whole merry cycle...
Hope this might some confusion for others in the future.
More likely that the phone was camped onto an Orange 3G bts initially. By swapping network type selection you forced it to pick up a tmobile site....remembering that tmobile and orange share each others networks now under the banner of EE.
A lot of orange sites were never that fast anyway, even worse now the join with tmobile. They are relying a lot more on the tmobile 3G sites.

On T-Mobile here and switching LTE off makes absolutely no difference to my speeds :/ Ran a test with LTE on and off and I get 10Mb on and off.

OP here!
The first download was crazy slow, 1000 times slower than when I was on the pure Orange network, but it seems fixed now, and on my new rom flashed yesterday, it seems ok.
Completely agree about the orange/EE service at present. It has become terrible, I think they are shoving all subscribers onto one network, and its becoming harder to make a call without it dropping etc... And this is in West London!
Hi All,
I got my Nexus 5 few hours ago (after trying out the Nexus 4 but not feeling it) and have been setting it up the way I want it, and then about 30 minutes ago its stuck on edge and i ve switched between 4g and 3g but no luck, i've restarted the device as well no luck. I have a friend who has a Nexus 4 who had this issue a while ago until it self resolved after a few days but I don think I can cope with just edge connection.
Is anyone else having this issue and what can I do to resolve this or what advice has anyone got for me.
Thanks in advance (made me realised once again why I stuck with HTC)
i have the same problem, any idea's?
Try entering *#*#4636#*#* in to the dialler, going to phone information, scrolling down and changing the network type to another one.

Does this setting persist through a reboot?
Also, I'm on Sprint and having a similar issue with being stuck on 3G. Does anyone know which setting if any will give priority to LTE? It seems the phone only operates on LTE when I choose "LTE only" which is really not what I want to set it on permanently. None of the other settings seemed to give any favorable results. Thanks all.
I think I wrote LTE a few too many times.

Hi all, I have the same problem, the dispostivo get stuck in 2g network - edge.
For me to run, switch to WCDMA only with *#*#4636#*#*
It is a very annoying bug, it has happened every 4 or 5 days.
My Nexus 5 works on EDGE or LTE, but will not switch to HSDPA any more. Software is 4.4.4 Any ideas?
I tried factory reset from recovery, still the same.
Flashing the android l radio improves o2 network reception in the uk
I tried this and it keeps changing back to the setting it had before .. Do I just back out after changing it or do I have to click something else ?
[SOLVED] Can't make a call. It disconnects on its own while showing the message as that in the screenshot that I've attached.

(On LTE). Doesn't work on 3G as well. On 2G, it's fine. But I'm not satisfied.
Current ROM- CM13.0 Unofficial by sultanxda.
But this problem has been there on every ROM I've tried. This problem was not there when I was using a 3G SIM. I've tried switching 4G SIMs but the problem persists. Please help! I want to use LTE and make calls together without changing the settings each time. The signals remain there the rest of the time but it gets disconnected as soon as I make a call. FUN FACT- SMSs work fine. Note- This isn't a ROM problem. I've called the technical support but they just don't know how to handle ****. This is very disappointing.
I'm using an Airtel SIM (India)
Thanks!

Where in India? I use Airtel 4G and never experienced this issue.
BTW, I am from Bangalore.

In Faridabad (NCR). I just don't know what's wrong. I've tried almost everything.

Airtel doesn't support voice over LTE. But your network should be automatically switching to 2g when a call is made and then back to 4g after the call. There will be no data access during the call except for WiFi.

Try going to a place with a good signal and doing a network scan and select airtel manually instead of automatic.
There's a tower right next to my place, so I always have full connectivity. And I've already tried selecting Airtel. The problem still persists.

If you know how to flash custom baseband/modems, maybe you can see if a different one can fix the problem.
If that doesn't work, then a factory reset is the last resort.
Nope, tried that as well. I perform factory reset every now and then.

Well, I forgot to mention that the issue got resolved automatically after a few days. I don't know what actually fixed it. Maybe jgcaap's ROM, or a complete wipe. But it was fixed. Weird issue.
The fact that our Nougat update got a bit late was annoying. The update was released and them feels were amazing..
However, at this point I am about [.....] < that close to throw my phone across the room... every single time I lose not only my WiFi connection but at some times even my cellulair connection...
This has never happend on either Lollipop (5.1.1) or Marshmellow (6.0.1). My phone has never been rooted and is up to date according to the last Samsung updates. I am currently running the latest 7.0 build (NRD90M.G920FXXUE5QE8), Security patch of May 1, 2017.
Some screens to show my issue:

}
As you can see, the first show no cellulair connection but a working WiFi...
The second shows the other way arround, no WiFi but a working cellulair connection. Both screens are taken tonight a few minutes apart.
I have tried:
- Reboot
- Wipe cache
- Forget and reenter WiFi
- Safe mode to exclude apps (but even in safe mode both connections will fail at some time)
I have performd a factory reset just after the OTA update and I haven't changed anything special within my phone, haven't installed any extra apps.. So I am a bit lost.
Anyone else with this issue?

I have the same issue. Not really sure what to do. I'm thinking of just taking it to the Samsung store and trying to get it replaced.
Did you find any solution?
Sounds like your data keeps bouncing from hspa to LTE and back. Whenever it does that it can be disconnected for more than a minute. Make sure you don't have download booster on and maybe lock connection to one type. Wcdma or gsm. Other than the usual crappy s6 signal it has been worse on mine since nougat aswell.
