Maybe try talking to them to change that policy? Requiring empty SMS is a really stupid idea ...
Did you try the usual alternative SMS apps (Handcent, GO SMS, ...)?

Sure you can, if by empty, you mean a visual empty body.
There will always be more information sent through the air than you can see.
OP: Try sending just a full dot or something and see if that works.
If that doesn't work, 'GO SMS Pro' lets you send spaces. It's a free download in the Market.

i got a real emergency. i entered vital info in the sms stock app in the body text field. i didnt send it. i thought it would be saved automatically. after a while, i open my phone.. its gone. i need to know if i can somehow retrieve this text from a log. is there a log in a file on the phone? even though i didnt send it, there should be a log. PLEASE help me with this... its VERY VITAL! thank you!!

It only saves in drafts if you force close out of it, or back out. If you delete the actual text then it deletes it. He was misleading. You can stop the trolling. Thanks!

Been emailing the dev back and fourth for a week or so and he JUST put it on the market not 20 minutes ago.

Everything else seems to work perfectly.
UPDATE 4/8: MMS fixed. FC on self picture click check market for the update. Dev is touring europe for a few weeks so there probably wont be any other updates for a bit :[
If you guys really appreciate this I reccomend donating to the dev, his paypal email is in the description in the store. For all the people who had the FC issue when deleting thread or the new MMS app where the silly attachment and send button were switched and it drove you crazy.

Or what you can do is in the Applications menu, disable the old MMS. It's like freezing it. Just built into the OS. I think I'm starting to like ICS more and more...

Might need to edit the apk's XML's to match the stock messaging app to fix that. Don't have my computer right now, so I can't do it myself, but when I was messing around on an Epic, that's what we have to do to prevent that.

Great find man already popped it into the system/app and it runs great no fc but is there a way to make the new message icon come up on the lockscreen like the old mms did?

This is from the app's description in the play store:
* Removed some stuff about "date sent", which was causing crashes. Samsung's lame SMS app doesn't have this field in the database. I could potentially add it though. But it is not a critical feature so I just disabled it.
* There's stuff about DRM (Digital Rights Management) in the code. I presume this is for copy protected MMSs? Does anyone even use MMSs? Anyway I haven't tested anything to do with MMSs or DRM and there's a good chance the app will crash if it has to deal with any of that stuff.

Just tried this as well.. FC'ed when trying to MMS.
Latest update of the app fixed this for me! Seeems like I had to come off of wifi for it to send. But I may have just been impatient.

Hey guys, I downloaded this app. I was just wondering if there was some sort of Trial period on it, because it says Swiftkey 3 Trial.
If I remember correctly it is good for 30 days. I bought the paid version and honestly I am not that impressed. Prefer stock Android keyboard.

I think it's a seven(7) days of the trial. I've bought this app when it was SwiftKey not x, beta 3, or 3. It's a great keyboard and if you purchased it back when it first came out you would be impressed of how far it has come. The predictions are great once it learns the way you text plus it has themes and the languages it supports because I use English and Spanish at the same time and one keyboard for this is great no need to switch to English and then back to Spanish. So try the trial period and see what you come up with.

Thinking about paying for it, but it keeps losing the preference as default input method. A few times it would just stop working in the middle of writing an SMS. You could hit any key you want but nothing happens; the cursor just keeps blinking until you leave SMS and then try again. I am not sure if it's the app or the ROM (AOKP).

Hi guys, recently I updated my s2 plus to 4.2.2 and it's amazing but....the badge number doesn't change on the facebook app and the email app as well so, I cleared the badgeprovider.apk data and now does't show any badge number on the facebook app but in the email app show but not change. What u guys suggest me to do ???

I think he meant push notifies, numbers that appear on apps' icons like Messages, Facebook, Email and so on when "a news" (like facebook's notify) arrives..
However Bilal did you try to replace the Badge.apk with an original one (directly from ROM's zip I mean)?? Maybe when you cleared datas you corrupted something... nevertheless I don't know if it works or not because I don't use this service often, so proceed at your own risk... for this reason it's better to be provident doing a nandroid backup before replacing that because this kind of replacing can cause bootloops...

Nice to see the Gear S2 gives the ability to at least reply to messages with the dismal s voice, pre defined or keyboard ?
But you cannot create a new message only reply to an existing received message on your watch.

I think it's dependent on file type, resolution and size, but haven't managed to prove this yet.

Noticed that pictures will only show when there is only one message in that particular whatsapp thread. Once there is more than one message, images stop appearing on the Gear S2.
