[APP][ICS] AOSP MMS Confirmed Working!!!!!!! - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket SGH-I727

Been emailing the dev back and fourth for a week or so and he JUST put it on the market not 20 minutes ago.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.concentriclivers.mms.com.android.mms
ENJOY!!!
(You have to delete your old mms, or rename it to mms.apk.bak, or you will recieve texts twice!)
Everything else seems to work perfectly.
UPDATE 4/8: MMS fixed. FC on self picture click check market for the update. Dev is touring europe for a few weeks so there probably wont be any other updates for a bit :[
If you guys really appreciate this I reccomend donating to the dev, his paypal email is in the description in the store. For all the people who had the FC issue when deleting thread or the new MMS app where the silly attachment and send button were switched and it drove you crazy.

Awesome!
Or what you can do is in the Applications menu, disable the old MMS. It's like freezing it. Just built into the OS. I think I'm starting to like ICS more and more...

Works well thanks! Just disable stock messaging
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using xda premium

I tried it, and then when I opened a thread with MMS I received FCs.

Works great! Thanks!
Quick note, pressing on your own contact avatar/icon results in a FC of Contacts.

Might need to edit the apk's XML's to match the stock messaging app to fix that. Don't have my computer right now, so I can't do it myself, but when I was messing around on an Epic, that's what we have to do to prevent that.

Saw this in your other thread, thanks for the info. It'd be better with working mms.

still same thing..

i NEED mms, but other than that works great here

So far everything has worked great for me.. haven't had a single FC. I also have it as a system app.
Thanks for posting this!

have you tried MMS?
If so the solution may be to make a system app. will try now.
Edit, nope no change for me.

Great find man already popped it into the system/app and it runs great no fc but is there a way to make the new message icon come up on the lockscreen like the old mms did?

This is from the app's description in the play store:
* Removed some stuff about "date sent", which was causing crashes. Samsung's lame SMS app doesn't have this field in the database. I could potentially add it though. But it is not a critical feature so I just disabled it.
* There's stuff about DRM (Digital Rights Management) in the code. I presume this is for copy protected MMSs? Does anyone even use MMSs? Anyway I haven't tested anything to do with MMSs or DRM and there's a good chance the app will crash if it has to deal with any of that stuff.

Thank you for the file. I'm not saying installing or flashing this file won't work. When I have tried to use the mms.apk from another rom or phone, many times I've gotten force closes for some unknown reasons. There has been a couple of times that it actually worked without problems. Another option could be is using a third party mms/sms app like handcent or chomp. I don't know if they piggy back the stock sms program to work or not. I've read they do but I don't know how truthful that statement is. Yes, alternative programs are much larger than stock, but I'm saying it just "might" work too. To anyone trying this, good luck and I hope it works out for you.
It piggy backs for picture mail

Sprint did a Google Voice integration back in April.
The language packs are not 100% ported over to english. I would get notifications in chinese. No idea what they were for...
The menu system is completely different than android. I spent 5 minutes trying to figure out how to add my gmail account.
Anyone use the sense 3.0 style lockscreen?
I know this post is kind of random, but I used the rom for a bit, and then reverted back to my stock rooted GB rom. Would like to spend more time with this rom, and see it it would suit me on a day to day basis.

MMS Fix for Epic 4G Running ICS

Hi everybody,
We all know that ICS has made it a bit difficult to edit your APN(s). We also know that some of us have been having issues getting MMS to work when we install ICS on our Epics.
Luckily after a lot of research and a little tinkering I found a great fix that worked right away. I took the APN Settings from an Epic Touch 4g.
1. Within you Epic open your Voice Dialer App.
2. When prompted say "Open APNs".
3. Another pop up will appear, tap on the OPEN APNs message that pops up.
4. The next screen will show one single APN called Sprint tap on it.
5. On the next screen you will see the list of settings for the specific APN. Below are the list of settings that finally got my MMS working.
a. Username: Sprint
b. MMS Proxy: 68.28.31.7
c. MMS Port: 80
**ALL OTHER SETTINGS STAY THE SAME**
6. Once completed tap the menu button and tap save.
7. Reboot for good luck.
Steps 1-3 will also work for Epic owners trying to edit APN settings to use on another carrier.
Hope the info helps!
Is this more for wifi or 3g. Cause I know I have trouble sometimes. I followed your thing. Guess I'll see how it goes. Cause I don't remember when I have had mms fail for testing.

Interesting. I just noticed this today when I couldn't see an mms in an otherwise awesome CM9 RC1.
I just installed HandcentSMS and that worked, but I prefer not having the extra apps. I'll try this over the weekend.

I believe it only applies to 3G since the APLs are only used as network identifiers by mobile devices.
Interesting. Where did you find the info?

The first three steps were from another post i found through a Google search (Dont ask, i unfortunately dont remember). Once i found out how to access the APL in ICS it was just of matter of finding the APL info for another Sprint phone (in this case a Galaxy II) and entering that info in my Epic's APL.
this was one of the main reasons i installed TPR, may have to switch back to ICS, if this fixes the MMS issues!
Very interesting. Now I need to receive an mms to test.
One thing I noticed was after following all steps, a lot of other information was populated in the Sprint settings when I went back to look.

Wanted to give out a BIG thanks for this fix
I installed CM9, RC1, and had issues sending MMS. Was unsure if it was the towers in San Diego, as I was just visiting,or the phone, but as I has some extra time, I went so far as to do a full wipe and reload of CM9 RC1. Still, over several days, was unable to get a MMS to send 9 out of 10 times, no matter what I tried, while plain text messages went right away.
I rebooted my phone, tried sending a MMS, and it stuck on sending. Gave it 15-20, and even rebooted. Still stuck at sending. I deleted the message, made this fix, rebooted, and tried to send a MMS again, and the MMS sent right away
huge thanks for this! works like magic.

I too can confirm that this works to solve the MMS issues on WIFI. However, be careful; when I rebooted after applying the fix, my phone tried resending all of my past MMS messages. It really bogged my phone down, and I had to delete them in order to stop it from happening.

Would this fix work on a phone flashed to Boost Mobile?, the MMS issues is one of the few major things keeping me off anything CM9 related...

[REQ] stock moto blur SMS & MMS

Greetings, I am running scv7 here and its OK.
The one gripe I have is the mms is broken. Has some one out there ripped the stock MMS and SMS from the leak? And compiled it to a apk?
Also sorry if this is in the wrong section. I did not want all the noob posts in Q&A running this over.
Thanks so much!

Does MMS work on GoSms or others? Or does it not work at all? Does your carrier use separate APN'S for data and MMS?
It works with 3rd party SMS apps. I really hate extra application and I enjoy the ics /moto stock SMS application.
Can I just get that app? Is there a way to system dump it? This is something I don't know.

Okay so it's not an APN issue it's a bug with the MMS app in SCV7. You SHOULD be able to rip the APK from the leak, don't quote me on that as I am basically talking out of my rear end since I don't have my A2 yet, tho there is no harm in trying and the worst thing that could happen is Android wont install it. This APK is from "Blur_Version.55.28.37.MB865.MERetail.en.06", it probably wont work but try it. If it doesn't work, someone who is on the leak can try to rip the Messaging.apk or MMS.apk using Titanium backup or something similar, it should be in system/app. I'm getting my A2 tomorrow but can't promise if I'll install the leak tomorrow.

MMS on official LP

so looks like VZW has left out or over looked (not like they didnt take their time on this update) to include the required MmsService.apk
Without this some, if not a lot of third party SMS apps will not send MMS, Google's hangout and Google's messenger app for example.
By installing this, flash it, extract it, or just install the APK. (if you dont have root this is the only way) This WILL fix the issue

Believe me...I do too, however with the stock sms app if a group message come in, clicking the notification take you to the individual sms thread for the person that sent the text, not the group chat, which in of itself was enough to drive me crazy.

From my understanding LP on vzw took away the ability to edit the apns which I would imagine you had to change to get all the tmo stuff working.

I'm stock and rooted while my wife's is stock. We both upgraded to Lollipop and was/is using Textra before the upgrade and continue to use it without an issue. I've sent and received MMS without hiccups.
Are we odd ones out or is there some bug that I'm not experiencing and could possibly find a fix on my phone to share with everyone?
