Hey guys, I downloaded this app. I was just wondering if there was some sort of Trial period on it, because it says Swiftkey 3 Trial.
If I remember correctly it is good for 30 days. I bought the paid version and honestly I am not that impressed. Prefer stock Android keyboard.

I think it's a seven(7) days of the trial. I've bought this app when it was SwiftKey not x, beta 3, or 3. It's a great keyboard and if you purchased it back when it first came out you would be impressed of how far it has come. The predictions are great once it learns the way you text plus it has themes and the languages it supports because I use English and Spanish at the same time and one keyboard for this is great no need to switch to English and then back to Spanish. So try the trial period and see what you come up with.

Thinking about paying for it, but it keeps losing the preference as default input method. A few times it would just stop working in the middle of writing an SMS. You could hit any key you want but nothing happens; the cursor just keeps blinking until you leave SMS and then try again. I am not sure if it's the app or the ROM (AOKP).

Somebody just posted the same issue in the AOKP thread, must be a ROM problem.

...Btw, anyone else having problems with keyboard? When it's opened and the phone locks and then you unlock it, keyboard won't write. I have to restart app to get it working. Mostly has happened when using SMS. I think I can reproduce it so if any savvy tries it and doesn't happen then I could try and get a log. Maybe this is an issue, maybe it's just me...

"I don't have that problem" is counter-productive. If you don't have a solution just don't contribute tvotony
I mean, it could help point you in the direction of where the problem is originating . But yeah, I've actually had the same problem. I thought it was just Swiftkey bugging up at first.

My swype app works well as a tap keyboard but no longer registers swyping. Anyone run into this? I believe i have the latest beta. Tried a reboot with no success. Will try a reinstall later...
Sent from my droid incredible from xda app
Try switching away from swype as the input method then back.

the newest beta.. 2.44 has some weird registering system that enables swyping- so it only allows those you are registered with swype to use it. I dont think anyone has posted a way around this..so people are using 1.61 till a workaround is found..

I'm using Swiftkey X, I bought the keyboard.. man I knew that when the beta ended I would NEED to buy it, the predictions and keyboard layout are fantastic! I should go on XDA premium and send this message just to prove a point but whatever

Yea I really like SwiftKey x, i just think that amazon will have it as a free app soon, so I don't feel the need to buy it now. What about the people who purchased the original SwiftKey.? Do they get left behind?

I don't think these special codes are something from Google/Android or they would work on other phones. I think these are Samsung-specific dialer shortcuts so any non Samsung-based ROMs will not have those dialer shortcuts in there.
Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

I like that the new update has the ability to hit the Thanks button at least. I always felt like a jerk thanking someone from the app but not having the ability to hit the Thanks button.
Don't use pm much so not an issue for me...

New version is a lot nicer... I had an issue with it duplicating My Favorites.... easy fix... just go to Manage Applications and for XDA app, clear cache clear data... then reopen XDA. Sign in, then set your preferences and favorites... all should be good.
Its strange when i apply dark theme ....always force close when i enter in posts.
Someone having the same issues?

Seems ok in my limited testing. I always found the prediction engine in SwiftKey to work the best, having swipe just makes it better. I was going to try the tablet version on my Nexus 7 but I guess the download site is swamped as it couldn't connect. Most likely because guys like you are posting it all over XDA...
been using it all morning so far so good
Odd... In some cases it won't let me swipe.. Like the main search on the xda app for example..

My first install was awful, it installed, but the prediction boxes on top weren't working. I uninstalled it and reinstalled and it's been working fine ever since.
Although, I think it predicts words better if you actually type the words. You can't select the word you wanted to type if it guesses the wrong word

I don't like the fact that if it got the wrong word when you swipe, you have to backspace over all of the letters. I think the stock 4.2 keyboard will delete the whole word if you backspace once. It might be an option though, I haven't looked that closely yet. Other than that, no real issues. Haven't decided if I'm going to stick with it or not, even though I bought it.

U just have to hold down the back button to delete the whole word, or back up one space in order to get more suggestions..

I've only used Swype as far as having something to compare it to...and it seems faster to me. I also like the prediction better than swype.
I don't type often(I mostly swipe), but when I have used it for typing it seems pretty fast....a little lag now and then.. I also do NOT miss the glitches in Swype, such as not spacing automatically in the browser and other apps...this has been good for that.
Keep in mind it's a beta, and as fast as the previous version is, I'm sure this can only get better...they've already got a great start..
So its been a week. Flow works pretty smooth for me but I did notice that the prediction needs a little work. But all in all I see a solid keyboard app worth using.

Has anyone else experienced the inability to search from within a website using flow? For example, using Chrome or Google search if I navigate to xda, rotten tomatoes, imdb or android central(those are the sites that I've tested on) I can't search from within that specific site. After I switched back to SwiftKey 3 I was able to search successfully. I haven't checked the forums over at SwiftKey yet so that will be my next step. Thanks

Google Reader sharing to Facebook doesn't allow the use of flow swiping. Hope they fix that as I'm sure there are other instances it won't work.
