every time i connect my phone to pc and chose usb drive, setting profile ( app) disappear and my home page icons change to android icon. can any one seen issues like this ? please advise.
I would suspect the ones disappearing are installed on your sd and as such are not accessible when the card is mounted.

Make sure your default connection type isn't "disc drive". To do this, do the following:
Menu-->settings-->Connect to PC
Set it to charge only or anything other than disc drive. You can also have it ask what type of connection to make everytime you hook up to your computer.
Thanks guys. it fixed it.
I connect a digital camera to my Note 10.1 (jelly bean) using a Samsung USB connector. The USB device is detected and a window opens with the contents of the device. Works great. When I'm finished, I tap the USB icon to safely remove the device. Later, if I reconnect the device, the USB Connected message is displayed, but no window with the contents opens. The file manager doesn't list the device. I can't get to the contents of the device unless I reboot and try again. This is repeatable.
Is there a way to reset the USB connection, find the device in "My Files", or get to the USB contents without rebooting between uses? Thanks for any ideas,
K.

You may have to re-boot the tablet.
Correct, rebooting works, but is that the only way? I hope not.

Try to connect the camera to the adapter first then connect to the tablet. I've had the same issue with some other devices and that fixed the problem.
I have the same problem and i get around it by running USB host diagnostics app. It an app from chainfire and its free on the market.

Thanks. I downloaded the USB app and I'm still having the same problem, I'll keep trying. BTW, turning the USB on before connection made no difference.

Problem solved. I uninstalled Avast Mobile. Now, I can reconnect the USB as many times as I want and the file window opens up each time. This is the behavior I expect.
Thanks all.

"USB Device Connected
The phone's battery is being used to power the connected USB device. To save battery, please disconnect the USB device when not in use."
This notification keeps popping up whenever I connect a USB Flash drive or anything to the micro usb port. This happens even when the battery is 100%
My phone supports OTG and the drive works but its really frustrating because that notification keeps popping up.
When I click ok it goes away, but pops back after few seconds.
How can I stop this notification from popping up every few seconds ?
Please help

That sounds like something in your battery/battery saver options is telling you to remove it.
