Don't know if you guys visit your tegra zone app but there's a video in there that demonstrates kalel and also somewhat compares its capabilities relative to a dual core.

If I buy a Tegra version of a game will it work on the Optimus 3d?? OMAP4 is more powerful but is it compatible?
You can play the games on any modern android phone, Motorola Milestone onwards.
The mileage you get will vary with the processor your phone has.
The games should run better on the 3d due to the chips superior processing power. (Quadrant 2700ish)
Just grab the game from the usual Market, instead of the Tegra thing, to be on the safe side.
If i recall correctly, the tegra zone is just a showcase of the games that show off better gpus like the tegra. once you click download in the tegra zone app it takes you right to the market where anyone can get the same download without tegra zone. The tegra zone is just a way to get news and organized game info.
NVIDIA and Qualcomm seem to get all the love when it comes to processors for Android devices. While these are powerful processors, we can’t forget about our good old friends from Texas Instruments (TI), whose processors are very capable of running all your content. To prove this, Texas Instruments has just announced they are the first to partner with Netflix to run the Netflix HD app coming to OMAP 4 Android devices.
Netflix HD will be able to stream your favorite movies and TV shows at 1080p at about 30 frames per second. The OMAP 4 Netflix certification will support Android 2.3 Gingerbread. But according to TI, support for other Android versions is coming this year (probably Android 2.3+).

Some weeks ago i was thinking in a Motorola Atrix to replace my old HTC Hero.
It's a good device but after some questions...

If you want to play H.264 high profile movie, DO NOT BUY Tegra2 based devices.
common 1080p(BDRips) are MKV(Container)+H.264 [email protected]~5.x+DTS/AC3 audio.
Tegra2 have hw limitations to play H.264 High profile.
My recommendations are
1. SGS2 : 1080p/1080i(it can de-interlace with HW)
2. Sensation(or Dualcore Snapdragon equipped devices) : 1080p capable but some shutter occur when you playing high bitrate movies.
3. Galaxy Tab(7inch) : can play 1080p
MKV container and DTS issues can be solved with Diceplayer.

My question now is:
How do OMAP 4430 'handles' MKV 1080p High Profile/high bitrate?
I've read that 'theoretically' OMAP should be better in 1080p decode that Samsung Exynos.. Is this truth?
Another question...:
Someone knows the difference between OMAP 4430 and Galaxy Nexus OMAP 4460 ?
Cpu i think it's the same.. probably its the mhz on PowerVR SGX540 right?
yes.. Droid Razr will be my next phone.
Thanks in advance.

Diceplayer does not support OMAP4 yet.
Samsung's video decoder implementation is much faster and powerful than TI's implementation. Samsung want to use Exynos to their TV and Settops. So Samsung AP's video decoder accept all of H.264 profile & level.
Exynos and Hummingbird support Zero copying rendering. it is much faster rendering than OMAP4's V4L2 overlay rendering.
Thanks for your help Juami..
That means that diceplayer dont run on android's with TI OMAP4?
Galaxy Nexus have a OMAP 4460.. i guess there will be support for OMAP in [a near] future right?
About OMAP4's V4L2 overlay rendering... is better then the rendering/decode engine on Dual Core snapdragons [HTC Sensation/ Sensation XE]?
Thanks
Can the full version of Chainfire 3D improve the graphics quality or performance of the Galaxy R ? I know that it's mostly used to allow non-Tegra devices to run Tegra-only apps.

As you already know its only for non-Tegra devices we don't require ChainFire for playing any games. I don't think it would improve graphics any further.

it can decrease quality of graphics so if u use chainfire on tegra, game graphics will be lowered so that it will work smoothly (we dont need it as we have thd games which uses all tegra gpu cores and delivers awesome performance)
I also think that the galaxy r has very good grapichs.

Sent from my GT-I9103 using XDA
Chainfire also allows games to be run at a higher quality and allow anti-aliasing .
Also , if you have the relevant shader plugins you could play games made for other graphics hardware
This was sent from a Galaxy Ace. Problem?
I don't think there's a need for chainfire
In Galaxy R its already a tegra chipset. i don't think chainfire would improve it more further.....

Chainfire remaps the Nvidia API graphics driver calls to the OpenGL standard API. I don't think Nvidia has a very different set of instructions (and developers won't hassle) and this set would be based on OpenGL as well.
Using Chainfire on the i9103 would simply force the game to use the standard 3d acceleration path, with performance relying on the graphics chip and its driver. Probably the difference will be none. Maybe a couple of misplaced effects.

I have misplaced effects on my Ace's Adreno 200 . But that's because this is only for 1Ghz+ devices , it still works well though

So i know the tegra 3 processors can handle 720p mkv files with ease, so i was wondering how does the texas instruments omap 4470 handle them? I heard this new processor in the BN Nook HD+ is supposed to be faster
thank you for moving it!
I am going from a nexus 7 to a nook HD+ and i heard the 4470 is on par or faster with the Tegra 3. I just want to make sure i can run my 720p mkv videos after i root it
thanks!
