does it reboot

the o2x with lg's own software reboots quite often and the g2x is basicly the same phone; so our main question is: how is the software acting? Does it auto reboot, does it black screen or is it worth of the hardware? share here
in case something went wrong please add the following:
- baseband (version as printed in the screen)
- using USB debugging (yes/no)
- rooted (yes/no)
- stock charger (if not specify output v and a)
- total uptime (rounded up in days/hours)

I've had it for a few days and it haven't rebooted once.
baseband: M6600A-SCAUTNZ-2.0.9720T 1 [MAR 27 2011 10:00:00]MP:TRULGE_08.09.02R_MDM
yes debugging is active
not rooted
stock charger
8hrs and 36 mins of moderate to heavy use.
It did get extremely hot while charging it with the Nexus One car dock charger. Had to pull the battery and let it cool off.

This too scared the crap outta me when I read the o2x had this issue but I've had mine for over 24hrs heavy use and I can honestly say wow
No lag
No reboot
No problems
BTW all stock
Waiting for a good g2x rom

if it has a reboot proble,, im going to have to get the sensation, i guess.
someone should post up their own review.. im so bored waiting till wednesday that i'm refreshing youtube to see if anyone has uploaded anything g2x related lol.

I've had mine since the 15th. It'a a complete beast of a phone. My Nexus S went on Craigslist within an hour of playing with the G2x. If there's anything specific you want to know, any benchmarks or comparisons, just ask and I'd be more then happy to share...

I have my fingers crossed.

well it did freeze on me 2x, had to take battery out, but its great! it froze when I was looking at my contacts and second didn't wake up from stand by.

How long have you had it?

I hope this issue is gone with the g2x. Cause ill pass if so. Eager to hear the reviews before I get mine wednesday. This phone looks awesome so here's to hoping.

What is the G2x like as a phone. Such as call quality, clarity of call, volume in head set and also volume in speaker phone. also GPS. Any and all info or help you can give is most appreciated!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

The G2X in the T-Mobile store i work in has had no problems at all. No reboots or lock ups. Pretty much no issues. Plan on getting this phone on the 20th.

ive been searching google/youtue for anything G2x related... and all the links are purple no new blue ones on good =(

original pre ordered G2x problems: decent Bleeding/reboot every few days
2nd G2x: HORRIBLE how can i say this better ..... FUGLY BLEEDING
3rd device on its way: possible bleed maybe reboot issue/wifi problem....?
4th G2x:......... maybe if the third one sucks
5th G2x...... i hope not
but yes im keeping it/them even if i have to exchange it for the next two years
alot of support behind the phone and a great community!

no returns for us
luckily i still have 1 discount left which i'll use on the sensation or the GS2. then my discounts reset in october.

Definately keeping it. I guess I was one of the lucky ones. I have not experienced any of the reported issues. My screen does have a slight bleed, but not highly noticeable . I already rooted and flashed Eagles_blood rom. Its only a matter of time until more roms and custom kernels are realeased, then we will really see what this phone is capable of.

I bought the phone yesterday knowing that I had 30 days to make my mind up on it. While I've only had the phone for a little over 48 hours, so far all is good. Yes the screen bleeds but its not as bad some peoples. Frankly I dont often watch video on my phone nor do I use dark wallpapers so the only time I ever even think of the bleeding is during boot and when I check this forum (lol). No reboots yet, OS is faster than any phone I've ever used, and contrary to my expectations HSPA+ actually does provide a noticeable boost. What I'm monitoring closest now is battery life. So far it seems to be at least on par with my Vibrant which is something I can live with. Loving stock Android also. If things keep up at this rate I wont be taking it back in 28 days.

Well gingerbread has a black notification bar, so if you have issues with the top corners like i did you might change your mind about the bleeding being ok.

I've checked screenshots with black toolbars and it wont be an issue for me. I keep the tool bar hidden anyway so the only time its even visible is if I have an app open in which case im focused on the content of the app not the notification bar. I'm sure there will be tons of themes with light notification bars anyway.

I have a black notification bar right now and the bleeding isnt noticeable.

today i returned mine, i miss it already but the battery life was unacceptable, been using it for 10 days and it got slightly better, not to forget the backlight bleeding and the various bugs here and there.
Im going to pick up SGS2 once it's available here, although i despise the touchwiz but thank god we LauncherPro

I unfortunately had to exchange my first one for a new one. My original would randomly think the wired headset was connected when it wasnt. This rendered the phone basically useless. Plus no one else in these forums talked about a similar situation. So I exchanged mine for a new one. So far its good. Fingers crossed!
I wish everyone that decides to pass on the G2X for the sgs2 or sensation the best of luck! Coming from Sammy's first real attempt at trying to run with the big dogs, the VIBRANT, I can honestly say that while its a decent device to get started with in android, it leaves much to be desired. At the time of its release the galaxy s line had the best hardware then too. But that didn't mean sqaut in real world performance. Those things laughed at us everytime we opened the app menu!
Look at all the time people like SUPERCURIO put into voodoo, just to make that thing be half the phone it could be. And dont even get me started on updates! Froyo? Froyo? Did you say Froyo? I had froyo before it was even a wet dream in TMO's eyes here. If it wasnt for some great DEV's pulling together on that thing and making it what it should have been in the first place, I, along with half the people that bought a vibrant probably woulda nailed our genitalia to the floor in a burning building.
So you guys get a super duper AMOLED screen phone that you still cant see in the sun! Talk about how AWESOME that screen is inside the house. Go ahead, take it in, love it, embrace it! Your little injection molded plastic-ey POS may sound like the next best thing, but this guy read the book and bought the t shirt! #SAMSUNGNEVERAGAIN!
Just wait, you'll see. And BTW good luck with that htc boot loader, sensation fans. I'll sit back and watch from the sidelines with my #CYANOGENMOD G2X!

Your going to love all the mods you're going to have to do to get rid of the iphone lookin, battery hogging, hope you know how to root, because it will still run in the background and control everything. So yes, they dont like to release kernel code either.
Please dont take my ramblings as the spoken word. Sammy might surprise us and throw us a bone. But remember if you get one update thats all you should expect.
And for the record, HELL YEAH! I still have a sour taste in my mouth from that fricken phone!

Eaglesblood rom has black notification, and you barely see it. I see it a little in youtube, cwm and bootup. But only in complete darkness.

Review in a bit, but the season eats g2x alive ..... Gonna be my new home for a while ...

Ditto, Had a g2x and traded it (had no issues except for minimal screen bleed. I still have another one but it's at LG for repair rma due to excessive screen bleeding) Really am loving the sensation. The G2X is faster for sure, but we shall see which is faster once we get S-off and root and a vanilla android rom Once I get my G2X back from LG I think I will switch between the 2 for a few days then the g2x will probably become my business line phone. I'm on flex pay and here is the strange thing.. with my g2x it let me forward my VM to google voice, with the sensation it doesnt. I read that flex pay customers are barred from using conditional forwarding so not sure how it worked on my g2x and not on my sensation.. smh

If you happen to get that weird black box on the lock screen, place your finger where the circle would normally be and flick up. It'll unlock the phone without a battery pull (don't know if you saw my topic on that on moco).

I am on my third Sensation and so far this one has been quite good. I have a G2x which I really like as well and also a Vibrant (that I thought I would always keep) and if the Sensation continues to perform flawlessly I will sell my Vibrant. There is just something about the Sensation, I really do not know what it is, but even though the G2x is faster at this point and seems smoother to me, I just keep picking up the Sensation. I hope that s off comes very quickly so we can see what this phone is really like!!!!!!!!!!!

I dont have G2X, BUT I use to have O2X which I think is similar phone, with some dimension different and signal processes only. Anyway, I ditch my O2X due to its poor design body, and its crap software UI..I'm not deny, O2X is faster compare to sensation, but I could not stand it when I hold in my hand and play with its UI...Grrrrrrr!!!!!!
+1 also dont like its bleed display!!

Smash welcome to the dark side lol. And to answer your question, no I'm not having any issues loading large sites. I tried engadget (full site), cnn, and a couple others and it loads fine on or off wifi.

I'm going to jump on this thread instead of making a new one... Just returned a family member's G2x for it being the most buggy production phone I have ever seen, shame lg.
Anyway, looking at the sensation as a replacement, anything a huge issue? The g2x had such a software rebooting problem it was absolutely unusable. Just want to make sure software and hardware are working fine for most people...

Notification lights

Would it be possible to make the hard keys flash for notifications considering the fact that we don't have a real one?

It might be possible, but I don't know how useful it would be. Those lights aren't very bright so you can only really see them in a dim environment. Some people have been using NoLED from the Market.
I don't really find myself needing this, and don't see where I'd find it that useful, but I've never had a phone that had notification light, so it may just be a matter of not understanding what I'm missing.

My last three star phones have had one. This is the only thing I don't like about the charge. It's not a huge deal. I have good eyesight, so the dimness is a non issue.

Full answer is there is nothing as of now, and it would require a dev with the time and the inclination to work on it, if it is indeed possible. For now, NoLED is the only real solution if you really want the notifications.

There is a guy named neldar in the Samsung galaxy forums that has a modded kernel with backlight notification enabled and you download his app from the market to control it. I tried to put him in touch with imnuts about getting his code and mixing it into his kernels. I'm not sure what the status of that is. I don't actually know either of the guys but neldar said he could provide a patch for dev who wanted to build bln into a kernel. I would love to have bln and am also disappointed that Samsung left that basic led notification out of their design.

Will have to check that app out. My wife used to have all phones that used to have a light. That way when at work she can have her phone silent but see when a notice comes in. One of her only complaints about the charge so far. That and the GPS issue.

Glance is another free app - turns on your screen for a few seconds when you get a notification.

Hidden LED for notifications, yet?

Say what you will as to whether or not this device needs a notification LED (for me, personally, it would be of amazing assistance at certain times of the day), but I'm curious if any custom ROM and/or tool has figured out how to make use of the LED as anything more than a charging light. Last I heard, nobody had figured it out. A few custom ROM pages list the option, but nobody can confirm that it actually works, and I feel like those pages are more or less just copy/pasted lists from the same ROM for other phones. Anyone hear or figure anything out, yet? I'm loving the phone, but for my usage this is starting to become a major annoyance. Thanks!

According to lightflow it does have a white led, but no other color. I couldn't get it to light up during any tests. I just got my phone tiday though, and I haven't done any tweeking yet, so I'm gonna go root it, get eerything situated, and give it a better shot later. I do wish it was able to do more than white only, though. The does sort of defeat the purpose of led notifications a LOT.

The notification led doesn't do anything unless it's plugged in. No one has gotten it to do anything else.

That's just a link to the same Moto X & E LED app the other threads are pointing to. It's mostly enables the LED for charging.
