[ROM] [2.3.3 GB ODEX] nivROM v0.99 (Stock-ish) - EVO 4G Android Development

Good afternoon everyone!
This is a quick version of the new OTA 4.22.651.2. It is based on the odexed dump xHausx provided here. He also has posted the newer radios at the same location.
I have some plans for it in the future:
- Fix 3g/1x indicators.
- Deodex for theming ease.
- 4-in-1 reboot mod (from SNQ-)
What I've done so far is:
- Added nano text editor.
- Added sysro / sysrw command lines (to make system read/write or read only).
- Added A2SD (DarkTremor's method).
- Added Run Parts (init.d support for scripting).
- APKs are zipaligned.
At this point in time, there's not much improvement over the stock ROM, but I plan on doing some more optimizations and small tweaks in the future.
If anyone is wondering -- this will very likely remain a stock-ish ROM with ease-of-use tweaks applied. I'm not personally big on theming.
Thanks go out to:
- xHausx - for providing the base to use.
- XDA-developers forum - for having a place where smart folks can congregate to create awesome ROMs!
- Developers here in the EVO section - An inspiration to all!
- Everyone who tests and gives feedback on this ROM.
I'm welcome to any suggestions or questions on how to improve the ROM!!

All right then I''ll try it
Ok thanks, I'll give it a try tonight...

That is eugene's ROM.
I tried both, eugene's and kingsklick, and honestly i think kingsclick is more smooth.
But again, they are still in the beta state
I need a tester for a 32A patch on these ROM's, pm me and we will discuss it.
Is there a possibility that you gives your launcher that look :
I don't know if it's easy to do, just asking...
The patch created by ahmgsk works on both eugene and king hero 2.1 roms. I agree king's is more smooth but there is no wifi on both.

Are you using the 32A patch?
In that case, that is why Wifi ain't working on the ROM's.
I can confirm that Wifi is working on both without the patch.

I guess we will have to wait for that.
The ROM ttran released with that skin is about to work on these ROM's, but i will keep it in mind
Thanks for that. Don't hurry, all we need is a smooth and stable ROM, in first step.
Ok, just installed.
I had htc.gb FC when gmail tried first sync. Same with sync of Exchange.
I got sync problem with Agenda in Exchange. Should I desible Agenda's sync ? (and e-mail too ? if it's only for contacts...)
Edit : Market is weird. Some paid apps work, some doesn't appear in sarch results : I can't get Pure Calendar. Calendar HTC widget is not included, so I don't have any calendar widget on this rom ! Very bad point for me !
Edit 1 : com.htc.launcher.RosieUtility FC when trying to add HTC widget.
Edit 2 : No SD Card access, only debugging mode. Sorry, I'm done, back to ttran001's rom...
Do this ROM work with RA Dream v1.4.0 as recovery image?
it wont boot up. It goes to the HTC screen and gets stuck there. Like the light thats moving through the HTC text stops and it does nothing. I updated my radio and spl from the links do you think that messed it up? Cuz I have been flashing different roms for a while never had this issue before. and yes I did a wipe. I didnt format my sd card partitions but i am trying that right now so i will update my post
Havent tried the rom, gona wait for something a bit less beta before i try. But thanks webghost for getting this on the sapphire forum.
It seems all the interesting roms for 32b are on the dream dev forum, and unless you check there you would never know about it.
New version of ROM out, updated topic.

If he has something he wants to contribute he is more than welcome to do so. As with anybody contributing, the changes will go through a review process to ensure the integrity of the ROM is not compromised.
The goal is to have a clean and stable ROM.
I dont think any dev is excluded.
Im sure if anyone wants to help they will be happy to receive the help.
I for 1 am really glad to see this occur.
Over the past few weeks the development on Eclair has been amazing but the problem has been they all seem to have different features or lacking of features/speed & stability.
I am really looking forward to seeing what grows out of this.
Awesome Chris.
Im guessing this is the CM Updater app that we went through today?
If so...Awesome...It's working ?

Exactly what Chris said. Everyone is welcome to contribute. If you want King's ROMs (he isn't one for joint releases) then he has a 2.1 ROM available on XDA. Personally, I would love to see all the developers get involved with this project. That is what this ROM is trying to accomplish.
im still new to the G1/Mytouch scene here, but I havent visited another website in the last 4 days, due to all the great ROMs and contributions here!! this just tops it off, this is a real GOOD idea

Notification Menu Power Control Widgets for Sense - 3.70 OTA (How to Change them)
By creating a pipe delimited list (|) of widgets in a one-line text file named widget.txt, and dropping this file into the '/system/customize/' folder on your phone.
So, say you want your power control bar to contain 4 widgets for 4G, Wifi, Bluetooth, and Sync. You would create a one-line file using the following syntax:
Code:
toggleWimax|toggleWifi|toggleBluetooth|toggleSync
Note: there CANNOT be any spaces between each widget defined, and the pipe delimiter is only placed between each instance, but not at the beginning or end. The syntax has to be EXACT, and case must match EXACTLY. If you have an error in your list, the slot / position where the error exists will result in an empty slot on your power control bar. If you fubar it bad enough, you'll probably bootloop your phone, so please use caution and check your work.
Once you've created your file, again, named widget.txt, all lower-case, using adb, push to your phone (the following commands assume your widget.txt file is in the same folder where you are issuing the adb commands):
Code:
adb remountadb push widget.txt /system/customize/adb reboot
For your reference, when creating your 'widget.txt' file, here is the complete list of available widgets with correct syntax that you can copy / paste into your file (don't forget to pipe delimit them):
Code:
toggleWimax
toggleAirplane
toggleAutoRotate
toggleBluetooth
toggleBrightness
toggleFlashlight
toggleGPS
toggleLockScreen
toggleMobileData
toggleScreenTimeout
toggleSleepMode
toggleSound
toggleSync
toggleWifi
Thanks goes to JsChiSurf for this mod

Everything Works, I can't test 4g but it is based off a stock ROM. I have 345mb free after installing all my apps (and I have alot of aps) with a2sd running. Seems very stable no force closes, and seems fast with stock kernel (which I am going to change) I mainly Mashed my theme in a stock rom and changed rosie with drop down widgets, different fonts. Nothing super special just wanted to share. Plus I'm in the learning Stages. Once I get a better grip on Java I hope to do big things.
Runs great ith BcBlend Kernel

any infos on what's the purpose of this rom? i mean, we have a bunch of dhd gingerbread official rom based roms, some aosp roms and other. what makes this rom, i mean the used base, interesting?
please, don't take this as offense! but i have no clue what the benefits of a mytouch 4g port are.

What guide did you use to port, Im trying to port to the desire hd, but getting bootloop. I used cm10 as base, do I need to use aosp as base?

No....you're using the correct base. It's probably in the overall port somewhere. My guess would be a library file or two if it's making it into the boot animation.
The basic procedure that I use to port is the same one Mattlowry posted HERE. It's the method Strapped365 uses & he taught it to us. I WILL say that over time I've discovered a few nuances that need to be included in the process that I do as a habit when I do one now. I know my success rate has gone up since doing them but that still doesn't mean they are absolute necessities.
Start working from there and later I'll make an update to Matt's guide for everyone......
Links are now working again.
