I've searched for quite some time and have been unable to find a functional .psd file with the Droid X screen dimensions set. I found two zips but they were both damaged. Can anyone help me with this? Much appreciated.
edit: I should also add that I would like this .psd with the screens already set so that I can tell what part of the wallpaper will be on what screen/
http://www.alexandergillis.com/store/20/ at 2000x resolution, that should cover it.

Walls sized 960x800.... yeah i know the EVO resolution, but this is the correct size...same as the incredible

40ish nice walls.
Why 960x800?
"The homescreen is 800 pixels in length and 480 pixels wide. The thing is, as you swipe between the 6 other panels, the wallpaper shifts a tad bit so you need to compensate for that. 960 pixels wide should be what all 7 panels are from end to end, not just the home panel."

I think this will make a good wallpaper. It is a Solargram I made this winter/spring with a pinhole camera.
Hope you like it!
edit: I'm not sure what happened, it got scaled down to 959x799 somewhere. I'll try and fix it. (uh, yeah, lets try this again... disregard my ineptitude.)
Maybe I am doing something incorrectly, but when i attempt to take my image and select them as a wallpaper, it prompts me to crop the image and then its all stretched out and ugly on the home screen. can someone provide me with some help on this...thanks

I'm having the exact same issue, any one have any suggestions?
thanks!
When it prompted me to crop I just made the crop rectangle the size of the entire image. Then it just didn't crop anything off and looked fine.
Mine will only me to expand the box to a bit less then half the picture...so far ive tried playing with different picture sizes, but no joy. someone help, i feel like a window licker
Here are some i have
coming from the hero
I resized this picture i want as my wallpaper and even though I tried both sizes whenever I try to set it as wall paper it does a super enlarged zoomed in view as the wallpaper.
there's an app that will stretch the picture to go across all of the screens and use the full image.
does anyone know what this app is called?
I used to have it on my touch pro 2 with android.

What do you mean? Remember the wallpapers stretch over all 7 screens of Sense. So you won't see the whole image on your screen at once.
I would like to edit the crop tool in Honeycomb. I have created a template for user in the Xoom forum, but that does not help when saving possible wallpaper straight from the xoom.
What I would like to do is edit the crop guide that shows to include four more guide lines to give users a better idea of what will actually be visible once the wallpaper is cropped and applied.
Here is the link to my template to get a better idea of why I want to do this.
Xoom Template
Im not sure what file I should be looking to edit.
No thoughts or info of any kind?
There are a couple of bootanimations that I really like (ie: the bootanim from Trigger rom), but it almost seems like maybe the background image is too small, because you can see light around all sides of the screen while it's playing. But for others (ie: CM7 default, and EB), it doesn't have this same problem.
Is it a sizing issue? Hrmm...maybe I"ll dig into the zip and see for myself? ;P
Anyone else notice anything like this? And no, it's not a device screenbleed problem.
edit: Yes, the boot animations that seems to leave space around the edges have pngs that are 240x400, whereas the other ones that fit better are 256x256.
Look in the desc file, the size in there should be 480 x 800 (If I remember right)
Sent from my LG-P999 using XDA App
The desc file shows the same for all the bootanimations, 480x800...but it seems the actual PNG files need to be changed from 240x400 to 256x256. I don't understand the mechanics of it, but that's what I've found by looking at the files themselves. I'm going to bulk resize all of the files in one of the zips and see if it works.
Woohooo...I did it.
First, I extracted the bootanimation.zip. Then I used Picture Resize Genius to bulk resize all the PNG's to 256x426 (after trying numerous settings, this was the best way to fill all the space, yet keep the graphic from looking deformed). Then I used 7zip to rezip with no compression. Then dropped it back into /system/media, and rebooted...and it works perfectly, filling up the entire screen so there's no small gap around the edges that leak light.
Might mess around and start trying to customizing the animations. I love learning how to do all of this stuff.
That's weird with the image sizes, I usually must make the 480 x 800. The desc file tells it to stretch the image to fit, so who knows.
Here is where I started learning about bootanimations, scroll down below the images.
Hi there,
So i used some tools found in the HTC Section (which are actually from other devices, but anyway) and I tried to flash a new Splash Screen. The flashing itself works, but the picture is always not correctly shown. (See attachments)
EDIT: this is with every Picture I tried, png, bmp every one
Is anyone expirencing the same issue, or it would be even better, if someone knew what's wrong.
P.S. I'm a bit confused where this Thread should actually be, because it (splash screens) started in the dev section, but for me it's more like a theme
Thx

Hi,
Make sure you save it as a 24 bit bmp file, also the dimensions of the image should be 540 x 960.
It looks liek its a resolution problem, Isnt the Sensation the only one with qHD Screen?
it actually was the Resolution of the Picture, I still got it at 480x800, took one with 540x960 and it worked like a charm
Thx to both of you

depending on what picture you have, you might need to create a new one. Because the aspect ration is different.. That means, if you resize a picture with 480x800 to 540x960 then it gets distorted. If it has a simple background (black for example) then you could just add more black background to it.
The resizing itself could be done in paint, paint.net, gimp, photoshop etc.

ok thre pic that i have is 480x800 im gonna resize it to 540x960.
Ok, so I picked an Atrix 2 when I jumped ship from Sprint, and I have a question about making custom wallpapers for this device. If I remember correctly, having a qHD screen means the wallpaper size is 1080x960, but please correct me if I'm wrong. I'd like to create a custom static wallpaper out of smaller images so that when I change screens between the five available each picture is different. I can't seem to find the right resolution balance to make it happen, so I thought I'd see if anyone can point me in the right direction. I was under the assumption that if I used 216x960 pictures that it would work, but I'm having issues. Thanks in advance.
The resolution on the atrix2 is 540x960.
I'm aware of that, but if you pull a default wallpaper, you'll find it's 1080x960. I think I may have found the answer though. Apparently Android doesn't allow for separate wallpapers on each home screen using the default launcher. Only way I can find is using an app on the market. Kind of a clunky way to do it, but it's working so far.
