Help editing the Xoom wallpaper crop tool. - Android Software/Hacking General [Developers Only]

I would like to edit the crop tool in Honeycomb. I have created a template for user in the Xoom forum, but that does not help when saving possible wallpaper straight from the xoom.
What I would like to do is edit the crop guide that shows to include four more guide lines to give users a better idea of what will actually be visible once the wallpaper is cropped and applied.
Here is the link to my template to get a better idea of why I want to do this.

Im not sure what file I should be looking to edit.

No thoughts or info of any kind?

Skin Creation - TGA Transparency Help

Hi All,
I am trying to create a skin for phoneAlarm, however the one biggest problem I'm having is creating a transparent/semi-transparent tga file in photoshop. I am fairly new to photoshop and have tried googling, but can't find a idiots guide how to do it. I know I need to do something by creating an alpha layer but not sure what.
I am trying to create a top curtain similar to the ones used in S2U2, but just as a seperate file which can be used to overlay a background image.
Could someone either post an idiots guide or point me in the right direction.
Many Thanks

Changing Launcher2 wallpaper gallery...

How do I properly change the wallpaper gallery? I have been pulling the Launcher2.apk apart and replacing the images with properly sized replacement images. However, I have to keep them named the same as the images they replace and I can not add or subtract the images. Can somebody point me in the right direction to adding and subtracting the wallpaper images and naming them as I please? I assume they are xml edits, which I have no idea how to do. The more help the better. Once I feel like I have a good product I will post the results here to share with everybody.
Thanks in advance.
Edit: I'm stupid and didn't read your post right. Disregard.
Search out "Advanced Launcher" in the G1 development thread. Irrenhaus somehow devised a way to add wallpapers uniquely named to a .txt file in /assets. How he did it it, I don't know. I'll attach the most recent copy I have. Hope this helps.
DON'T GO PUTTING THIS ON YOUR N1, PEOPLE...FOR RESEARCH PURPOSES ONLY!!
BRB.
Doing research.
** EDIT **
I think I found it. Going to give it a try. Will report back with results. This is the one I think it is.

Ugh... Still looks like xml edits if I am reading everything correctly. I am not sure I want to get on that right now. I guess I have to do some more research...

Making your own mods

ok im sorry if this is posted i have been looking all day on XDA and other forums nothing so far. im trying to learn how to make my own mods im not looking for a step by step guide but more a point in the right direction to some of the programs that are used maybe the file names and types (i have my own image editing program) just looking for a little help i guess. i am trying to make my own slider right now if you have any useful tips or anything please help me out thanks in advance
So you are looking to modify the images? If so this is not so much a mod but a theme. Changing the graphics is one thing but to make an actual mod like Cookies HomeTab or MaxSense, takes modding the actual file structure and the writing of code.
So if you are looking to just modify the graphics and theme of the phone look into modifying manila graphics. You want a program like CFC_GUI. This will allow you to download the manila image files and see there size and upload your own. You will still need something like GIMP or Photoshop to make your own image into a png of the proper size. You can also use a program called Mode9 to resize the size of the image allowed in a certain spot or even it's location all together. There are other things you can do and this would be getting more into modifying manila.
thank you! yeah im more thinking about themes i will let the pros handle the heavy stuff i have photoshop and Jasc PSP so thanks this was a lot of help i will look for that program.
Here is a post that gives a pretty good description on how to edit the graphics.

[REQ][widget] picture frame mod

I'm after an interactive version of the stock android picture frame, one that will enable me to jump to the picture's location in gallery.
I know htc has this in their sence, so it should be possible to port it. Unfortunately I don't have the dev skills..
Can somebody help me out?
Regards

It's not what you requested, but I use Desktop Visualizer to make shortcuts of all sizes to apps with my images.
As for a picture frame mod, it'd be great if pic frames could be placed with any sizes chosen and have many shortcut options, instead of only apps like I do with DesktopVizualizer.
thanks mate, its a great app.
Unfortunately for my purpose the original image has to be edited to get the photoframe...
I'd like to be able to change photo as I please, so this might be a bit cumbersome for my use. On the plus side, it can be set up to link to anything such as quickdial or text, and that is nice...

[Q] Making custom wallpapers

Ok, so I picked an Atrix 2 when I jumped ship from Sprint, and I have a question about making custom wallpapers for this device. If I remember correctly, having a qHD screen means the wallpaper size is 1080x960, but please correct me if I'm wrong. I'd like to create a custom static wallpaper out of smaller images so that when I change screens between the five available each picture is different. I can't seem to find the right resolution balance to make it happen, so I thought I'd see if anyone can point me in the right direction. I was under the assumption that if I used 216x960 pictures that it would work, but I'm having issues. Thanks in advance.
The resolution on the atrix2 is 540x960.
I'm aware of that, but if you pull a default wallpaper, you'll find it's 1080x960. I think I may have found the answer though. Apparently Android doesn't allow for separate wallpapers on each home screen using the default launcher. Only way I can find is using an app on the market. Kind of a clunky way to do it, but it's working so far.
