Hi,
I got a DS with T-Mobile branding. S-offed it and debranded it with the original HTC ruu. Then today I installed the latest update with Arabic language and rooted it after that. But after doing a factory reset I wasn't able to choose German as my default language. Only Arabic, englisch and French was possible. Is there a way to get all the languages back without a reflash.

hi all,i need to flash an htc sensation cause it doesnt have the italian language in it,i would like to know how to do it and which rom could i use
thanks a lot in advance
Wrong thread, please use the Q&A...
Also, if your phone is locked and you bought it in Italy it should have Italian language..
You can try morelocale2 from market or install some custom rom..

I think that italian language is included in all the roms, however you can try MoreLocale2 before modding your phone; it's free on the Market.
so i can just grab this MoreLocale2 from the market, directly from the phone and try and install it and see what happens?
thanks i will give it a try
guys i did as u suggested and it works great, just one question though,i went to the settings just to make sure that italian language also appears over there and still there is no italian language, language is selected inside MoreLocale. can it be a problem????
is it better to flash a new rom with italian language or i can just keep it like this?
thanks a lot in advance

Just flash a New ROM, insertcoin is a good place to start

If you don't want to install a custom rom, just keep MoreLocale on your phone; otherwise, choose a rom and just flash it!
EDIT: Temporarily removed as there are some fundamental problems with this approach. Sorry!
I have put together a quick tool to change the keyboard layout used on the ChaCha. If you're having problems with the keyboard after flashing a custom ROM, this tool may help.
Stop messing around with pushing and renaming keyboard layout files.
Requirements:
Root.
Intact keyboard layout directory. (re-apply your ROM if you've messed around with the keyboard layout files)
Chefs, feel free to include this in your ROMs, but please make sure the Market link is set up, so users get updates.
Market link: http://market.android.com/details?id=mobi.celton.chachakeys
If it doesn't work for you, and you want to help out by reporting a bug, please include the ROM version you're using (and a link, if possible), how you unlocked the device (HTCdev or XTC-Clip) and whether the device is S-Off or S-On.
Nice! Thank you for this very useful app!
The Chacha section it's alive again since the bootloader unlock on the htcdev
I'll test it when I get home.
awesome

Thanks, that certainly gives me a clue. For this app to work, the keyboard layout files must be untouched. If you're using the azerty version of the ROM, they probably have been messed with a little bit.
I have an idea for detecting and handling this, I'll give it a go and make a new version later this weekend.
Thanks for trying it out!
Awesome work mate!
Congratulations!
As a side-note, I think you should also take into consideration the CIDs for each device, the SuperCID set by XTC when S-OFF'ing (which afaik changes your keyboard to EU) and CWM (that also modifies your keyboard layout).

Original European ROM. Unlocked thru HTCdev and put CWM recovery and root.
Same problem on the CM7 Rom. It tells me that there are some keyboard layouts missing and doesn't work.
hi,good job.
will you upload it again???
Hello. Yesterday I unrooted and s-on my sensation, because I have som dust in the screen. For it, I used germany's Vodafone RUU, due there isn't a RUU for Vodafone Spain (my country).
Some people from Spain told me that using that RUU from Germany was ok, but something confuses me: when I try to search for OTA's I get this message:
We have determined that your phone may be running a modified version of its system software. For your protection, we cannot update your phone. Please revert your phone to the official HTC system software to update your phone. If you did not modify the system software or would like help reverting your system, please contact us via the support section at www.htc.com
So, I want to know if HTC will see this, or if they'll refuse to change my screen. I'd also like to know experience of others whose country hasn't got a leaked Vodafone RUU, and your experience.
Thank you all
Anyone?

so when you decided to leave stock rom and go custom.... didnt you make a nandroid backup like ALL the threads insist ? If you did you could restore it.
Or brick the device completely and say that a dodgy OTA upgrade caused it (no recommended)
EDIT: Wont a European RUU be good enough ? or a stock Spain RUU, It doesnt have to be carrier branded to re-validate warranty...Just stock

First of all, thanks for your answer. I didn't make a nandroid because the phone was bought already rooted from internet. I don't think so about the stock debranded ruu because they have the info that my phone was Vodafone branded and if they see a stock Rom they'll see I've manipulated the software.

Dear XDA-developers, readers and other people!
I have a Sensation (Vodafone NL Branded) with software;
Android Version; 2.3.4
HTC Sense Version; 3.0
Software number; 1.50.162.2
Smallband version; 10.56.9035.00U_10.14.9035.01_M
The phone is S-Off (Revolutionary) but still has stockrom.
Superuser is installed (can not uninstall it).
No i would like to install the OTA update i received from HTC/Vodafone;
3.32.162.11 (302.59MB) - Android 4.0
When downloaded, the phone is preparing to install and restarts.
For a second i see the progressbar and than i only see a droid with an warning sign.
Why can't i install the update?
Please help me.
I have been reading forums for 4 day's and tried things like recovery software, but it did not work.
I am a noob, so please make it in easy language!
Thanks a lot!!!
I'm not sure about the Sensation, but on the Desire when you S-OFF with alpharev, your new hboot is protected. To fix this you have to install an unprotected hboot.

Thanks!

Firstly and most importantly if you have Su installed you are rooted you can not install ota updates whilst you have a rooted handset
The only thing you can do is download the official stock European ruu here
http://db.tt/OWcAvh1S
Follow this thread to change your cid to unbranded one
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=16140388
Connect your phone to your pc make sure USB debugging is enabled and follow the on screen instructions this will remove root from your phone but it will remain S-off
Once installed you can check for updates and install ICS

At the OP, do you have the stock recovery or a custom recovery lime Clockwork Mod Recovery? If you have a custom recovery then tho sis why you can not install the official update. You must have the stock recovery.

Frank, so you have S-OFF and are rooted but still on a stock ROM. Do you have a custom recovery installed, like ClockworkMod or 4EXT? If you do, then you need to go back to stock recovery in order to be able to install OTA updates.
You also havent mentioned if you are receiving any error/warning messages during installation of the update. Knowing what you're seeing on the screen could help in determining a specific course of action.
Hi Guys!
I have installed a unbranded (stock) Rom and after that my Sensation didn't find ICS OTA.
So i downloaded the ICS Rom from XDA and installed.
So i'm on ICS now, but will not receive stock updates OTA.
And not on my stock rom, because i didn't make a backup
Thanks all!

You can download the official RUU of the stock ROM for your Sensation and then connect your Sensation to your computer and run the RUU. Go to here to download the RUU. I suggest you download the one that says " RUU_Pyramid_Vodafone_IT_1.45.165.1_Radio_10.56.9035.00U_10.14.9035.0" as it looks like it is the most recent RUU. You will probably have to do a OTA to get back to the 1.50.162.2 ROM you was on. Remember this though the RUU will make your Sensation S-on again so you will have to S-off your Sensation again after you have installed the OTA back to the 1.50.162.2 ROM. If you do not and you flash the ICS OTA then it will change your Hboot and Revelutionary is not compatible with that Hboot yet.
Edit: If the RUU I suggested is not the right region for you, I think it is for Italy, then look at the other four Vodafone RUUs. Two of them are for France, one is for Germany, and one is for the UK. But you may have to do more than one OTA to get back to the 1.50.162.2 ROM so you can get the ICS OTA if you have to use any of those RUUs
How can I add languages to htc one s??
the phone came from switzerland so it does not have croatian is there a way to add it
Thanks

This is interesting, I use stock JB rom, in language selection I don't have Romanian language, but if I use my old Titanium Backup of country/region, poof my phone has Romanian language selected and working.
Of course If I select English again, Romanian is all but forever lost!
You have to change the CID to your specific region, then do an update with a RUU. A RUU for JB is still not available. If you are still on 4.0.4 you can change CID, then update to JB but only if you have S4 processor.
Thanks!!!!
