[Q] kernel diamant 1.4.4 - Xoom Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello i juste install the ne kernel whith succès but can yountel me box in can change the speed ?

Grab SetCPU from the Market or from the XDA thread.
It requires ROOT permissions, so give it to the app when you see the popup.
You can also change and fine tune your governor with the advanced tab. Good luck.

can you tel me what is all the speed are build in ?

Set the governor to "interactive," and you can set your max CPU at 1000 (stock), 1200, 1400, 1504, 1600, or 1700.
My XOOM is only stable up until 1504, though.

I use No-Frills CPU Control here - nice and simple.

ok thanks ,i undurstand it work good at 12000
Great job

[Kernel] [GPL] Sense 2.6.32.21 OC/UV 1.51GHZ (CFS-Smartass-TUN)

This kernel is created specifically for sense roms It will more then likely not work in it current state on any AOSP based rom
Features
Overclocked to 1.51ghz and stable as ever (for most)
added in smartass and interactive cpu freq govs
added in TUN support
compiled v4l2 as modules
many more....
for a full list of changes check the commit log here
Quirks
Smartass wont scaled below 768mhz atm im looking into it stick with interactive for the best overall experience for now.

Awesome! I'll give my feedback as to how it is working.
I did notice once a governor is selected you have to reset your Mhz or it will stay on 806 max. Also this kernel doesnt want to work with OC widget at all but works fine with SetCPU. I've always liked OC widget a little more as it uses less battery than SetCPU.
Great work so far BC your the man. Been running this bad boy and havn't had a single reboot @ 1.5ghz. Though my battery is going quick for some reason, dont know why

If you get random reboots, it means it's OCed a bit too high; just scale it back a bit and you'll be fine if that ever happens
Is this running at 1.5 all the time or does it throttle between ranges?
What is the default range?
Does the user have to do anything to enable or set the throttling?

As noted above, I'm new to OC'ing but I'm pretty sure you have to set it to the ranges you want via something like SetCPU or OS Monitor. I believe default is gonna stop at 800mhz unless you scale it up.
EDIT: And thanks Impaler for the help!

Use SetCPU and select the Mhz/governor you want to use. Each Governor "Throttles differently"

SETCPU settings

I got setcpu yesterday and was wondering what profiles/settings people are using?
I've found with the screen off if I keep my minimum clock at 100hz it will freeze so I keep it at minimum 200 Max 400.
i set a profile where my minimum clock was at 200 but i am still getting shut downs. any suggestions?
Please STOP using SetCPU. It does not work so great on 2.2 ROMs.

If u r on a custom ROM, flash a kernel like say glitterballs. Then use the Voltage Controller app to set ur OC and UV (under volt) levels. These are more stable than SetCPU.
When using Voltage Controller, set the settings as "set for now" (this sets them temporary and resets upon boot). Use it for some time, and if u r comfortable with no freeze ups, etc, u can mark them as "set on boot" to make them permanent.

Min for captivates is 100. Putting min at 400 would only kill battery faster since the CPU is at 400 instead of 100 when idle.

[Q] Trickster MOD doesn't stick.

Hi all,
I'm still a noob in android, and I would like some help with Trickster mod. I've been using cromi-x 5.x with hund's kernel and app for a while,
and without a doubt, awesome ROM, great kernel, great performance, but high battery draining.
I would like to try the latest that's kernel, I think it's v7, but with a little more juice, but I can't figure how to make the settings of trickster mod to stick.
I've set the cpu and gpu frequencies, apply them and tried rebooting with and without the grace period with the same results. Everything remains unchanged.
Can someone guide me step by step?
Thanks in advance.
Sorry for my poor English.

Thanks for the fast reply.
The kernel comes with CROMi install, so I guess it's 100% compatible.
Any leads?
Just for clearing, I'm on the lastest Asus bootloader and latest CROMi-X 5.3a.

What are you trying to set it to? You have 1.8 (or is it 1.6GHz) on performance and and 1.3GHz on balanced and 1GHz on PowerSaving. This is what I set the CPU profiles to in the rom.
I'm not sure trickster can change these.....

Wow...now I'm nervous...the Master has spoken
Before all, thanks for your great job on CROMi-X :good:. You rock man. I wish Asus could keep up with you.
For now I'm using hund's kernel and changed balanced to 1400GHz with is app. Like I said before, it runs great, but battery pays the bill.
I've tried _that v7, but sometimes it lags on some apps. What I would like, was to set it, also to 1400GHz, and see how it behaves with speed and battery.
In my experience in balanced mode hund's kernel is a lot faster than _that. Maybe because _that in balanced mode varies between 1200-1300GHz.
On the other hand _that is more battery friendly.
But every time I've tried changing it with Trickster nothing happens. Can Trickster do the job? Or it's not possible?
Thanks

I don't think that's kernel oc's the same way as hunds. You can go down but not up in trickster. The limit for balanced is 1.3 so you can't get to 1.4.
I have an idea though
Copy the cpu3.sh to cpu2.show in /system/etc
Then use trickster to knock the frequency down to 1.4. That should work

Both files live in the /system/etc folder. You will need root access to do it.
Rename cpu3.sh to cpux.sh and then rename cpu2.sh to cpu3.sh and then rename cpuz.sh tp cpu3.sh. That way your balanced mode will now be performance. Then trickster can move the freq down

I know it's personal to you, but overclocking the Nexus 5 just makes no sense, it runs smooth as it is already, and I'd suggest to just change the CPU governor to performance and up the amp from there, you can use kernel auditor which has a lot of options.

Question Poco X3 Pro Kernel

Hi,
Gpu overclock is my reason to root poco.
I'm new to this I want to ask if KonaBess works with Poco X3 Pro ?
I know that works with 855/855+ and anybody tested this ?
Is there Kernel for Poco X3 Pro that increase Gpu Freq to 700-800 Mhz for gaming ?
Overclocking to 700Mhz is useless for me, because GPU from SD860 has 675Mhz as max. frequency.
And yes - messing with KonaBess cause reboot under heavy load.

NOM_L1. I was curious how much we can get from stock voltage. And the answer is: 690 Mhz.
Can we increase voltage on Poco X3 Pro to OC like 750 Mhz ? How is possible that someone is overcloking 865 to 905Mhz ?

You need to know that how much hardware using voltage on some level, "it's not only gpu that you measure". Example cpu will use more voltage if it's freq is maxed, and your TFT/IPS screen Will use some voltage to if brightness maxed.
So if you use NOM_L3 on GPU, please calculate other hardware to successfully measure "hardware used resources voltage" for overclocking.
You need to install some battery measurements like accubattery or something to get value of current MaH used by devices and do overclock step by step to migrate NOM_L3
Mine works if cpu is downgraded from 2.4ghz to 2.2ghz, and with lowest screen brightness to do 850mhz on snapdragon 855
I think that gpu is tzlocked at 692mhz. Sadly so this is max freq from 855+/860 which we can get.
Maybe modifying kernel will unlock this.

There's a kernel in the Telegram group.
• Performance improvements (No, it's not a gaming kernel)
And a probably related ROM
Also read what never00miss said in the reply, might even work on stock kernel.
Well, from my experience, that kernel definitely does not overclock, however, it makes the phone run really smooth, especially on custom roms. You can try doing it yourself (oc), or wait for gaming kernel. However, i dont see the need in overclocking this phone, really.

I don't need OC either.
Smooth, issue-less, and good battery backup longevity is enough.
Hi,
Yup tested on mi 9 miui 12.5. Works perfectly fine. In a few days I'll try undervolting a little bit.
Yeh but Mi 9 happy has 855 not 855+/860 so Gpu can be overclock up to even 850 MHz with no problem.
