[Q] Google Movies - Eee Pad Transformer Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I thought that Google Movies was going to be included in the 3.1 update but I don't see it in the Market or in a standalone app. Is anyone seeing it yet?

so far google movies is limited only to the Motorola Xoom

[Q] movie rentals from market after 3.1

I thought 3.1 brought movie rentals any one has these working? When I open the market all I see is the apps and the books. No movies.
u have to remember this is a leaked verson , no one knows what OTA will bring yet
yeah you got a point, i thought this was the official version, which had been leaked. Also the zinio mag reader now says needs to update only after one day
It has nothing to do with it being a leaked version. The 3.1 update does not bring Movies. They were just announced at the same time. As of now only the Zoom 3g has the movie update. The rest of us proles will just have to wait until ElGoog releases it.

movie rentals

Hi - google Market on my skyrocket doesn't show movie rentals
I don't live in the US currently but my payment methods/account are US based
Is there a way you can think of or heard of to enable movie rentals ? maybe a good alternative ?
Thanks

TV Episodes through Google Play

Has anyone tried to purchase TV episodes through the Google Play store or through the Play TV & Movies app? I noticed that when I search for TV episodes in the play store on my One X, no TV shows are returned in the search results. I also noticed that if I select a "featured" TV show through the Play TV & Movies app, there is no option to purchase a TV show episode. I contacted Google Play support about this and I have an open ticket, but I'm wondering if anyone else has seen this issue on an AT&T HTC One X?

have you installed the play store apk that came from jellybean? You need that.
Thanks, I didn't realize that I need Jellybean(or components thereof) to purchase a TV episode from the Play Store though. I'm not sure how that makes sense for Google to cripple the ICS version of the Play Store. Google is saying that anyone who doesn't have Jellybean can't purchase TV show episodes?

[Q] No HDMI out from Google Play

I have a Canadian Xoom running the US 4.1.1 Jelly Bean. I recently rented a movie on Google Play and tried outputting the video my Sharp HDTV, LG TV and Asus Monitor via the HDMI and nothing works. I get a red X.
I know that this is an issue for Tranformer Prime TF101 users. However, I have previously rented movies and not had an issue prior to moving to 4.1.1.
Are other Xoom owners having the same issues?
Thanks for your help.
Please post all questions in the Q&A section. Thanks!
Thread moved.
Anyone?
Here in Brazil we don't have Google Movies yet but I think it's an update problem, send an email to Google or check their bug list (if there's some), but if happened to you after 4.1.1 update and happens with transformers users too, maybe it's an update problem here it's working fine watching videos on YouTube, and movies with BSPlayer (no subtitles though)

Chromecast - anyone working on a way to play local videos?

Hey guys, I wanted to see who all here has picked up a chrome cast and what your thoughts are on it so far?
I really dig it, quick connection and ability to play things with no noticeable degradation or lag. And with HBO Go and Hulu Plus both coming soon it is going to be really nice.
One issue though that I have found is that the previous version of Google Play Movies allowed you to play locally stored videos on your device through the app. With the update to work with Chromecast this option is removed even when trying to do it on your device only so you have to use an external app such as the gallery or MX player etc.
Any word or people working on creating a cracked version of google movies or a work around to allow other apps to chromecast?
Read somewhere that clockworkmod and someone else have done it or are really close. Check Chromecast development

Koushik Dutta's Aircast
Koushik Dutta is still working on it. Still in beta and will self destruct after 2 days but it is a amazing start

This may be irrelevant now, and if so I apologize for the waste of time, but I have found that if you open the video files in a Chrome tab, they can be cast that way. At times it can be a little inconvenient, but I think the video/audio is pretty good.
