[Q] movie rentals from market after 3.1 - Eee Pad Transformer Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I thought 3.1 brought movie rentals any one has these working? When I open the market all I see is the apps and the books. No movies.

u have to remember this is a leaked verson , no one knows what OTA will bring yet

yeah you got a point, i thought this was the official version, which had been leaked. Also the zinio mag reader now says needs to update only after one day

It has nothing to do with it being a leaked version. The 3.1 update does not bring Movies. They were just announced at the same time. As of now only the Zoom 3g has the movie update. The rest of us proles will just have to wait until ElGoog releases it.

[Q] Google Movies

I thought that Google Movies was going to be included in the 3.1 update but I don't see it in the Market or in a standalone app. Is anyone seeing it yet?
so far google movies is limited only to the Motorola Xoom

Lost my Video streaming with ICS upgrade.

I use my Tab 7.0 plus mainly for video streaming to my large screen TVs. I even canceled my sattelite TV it worked so well in Gingerbread or 3.2. I had CNN in one click, Animal Planet, PBS, etc. I upgraded to ICS 4.0.4 through kies and the tablet took the upgrade with no errors. My unit is WiFi only 6210, US.
Now all my video streaming sites don't work. I get either a blank screen or a funny small blue box where the video should stream. I set up a chat with Samsung Support and they said that there is no Adobe Flash player for Android 4.0, so it's not their fault. I asked if I could downgrade back to 3.2 gingerbread and they said there was no way. As far as I'm concerned, this thing is a brick for me now.
Please! Does anyone know a way to use Adobe Flash on 4.0 or guide me on how to revert back to my old operating system (gingerbread 3.2) so I can continue to stream television sites? I'm not very computer literate and I'm very old.
Thanks for any help or advice.

You can still install Flash on it and it works fine... download this file to your tab and install it - http://www.sendspace.com/file/d43u2p
FYI, 3.2 is Honeycomb, not Gingerbread.

That did the trick. I already had Flash player 11.1 downloaded, but I didn't have it installed on Dolphin Browser after the upgrade. A little tinkering and I got it installed and working just fine. Thank you so much. I'm back in business.
God! I love this site. If I understood half of what you're all talking about, I'd love it even more.

Adobe removed flash player for all devices

No longer on play store?
I can't find it...

Beamed from my Senny..
I uploaded the Adobe Flash Player 11.1-111115012.apk to my Dev Host for anyone else that may want it or that comes across this thread later. It is the same apk that you would have got from the Play Store. I pulled it from my device back when Jelly Bean was first released because with Chrome being the new default browser and HTML5 being pushed so hard I saw this coming back then.

Play Store UI Update for Nexus Player! (Android TV)

Hello Everyone,
It appears that very recently Google finally updated the Google Play Store for the Nexus Player (Android TV in General). I really like the updated UI! It is much more visually appealing and is not redundant like the original was. I also feel it is much easier to navigate and search seems "better". The Play Store icon was updated as well. You can wait for the OTA update if you would like but it could take weeks I'm sure. I actually downloaded and installed the APK directly on my Nexus Player using Google Chrome.
If you have Chrome sideloaded to your Nexus Player, a wireless keyboard, and ES File Explorer, you can install it directly on your Nexus Player. (The APK will show in downloads on ES File Explorer and install just fine) Here is the link to the article and the APK link is at the end of the article. Compliments of Android Police.

Awe Im still waiting on it on mine, i really like the new look seems more stream line.
I noticed it yesterday, must have auto updated.
Still nothing in there as far as new apps. HBO and PBS being the most recent, but since I'm a comcast subscriber, HBO useless for me as well as all the other channel apps.
I was honestly starting to think that Google was abandoning Android TV. It still doesn't even compare to Apple TV as far as app selection. Seeing HBO GO official support added recently and now a Playstore update gives me hope!
I ditched my iPhone 6 for a Nexus 6 and my Apple TV for a Nexus Player. I'm done with Apple / IOS. The phone switch felt like a hella upgrade software and hardware wise. The TV switch honestly felt like a downgrade though...
I don't believe they'd abandon it. Google just partnered with several TV manufacturers to use ATV as their smart TV platform. As the install base for ATV gets higher, the apps will come.

The Play Store doesn't show many apps, but you could access the Play Store through a web browser and see that there are other apps that are compatible with the Nexus Player or Shield TV that you can install on them. Once installed access them through the Sideload Launcher.

MXQ Android TV Box & Amazon Video

Afternoon all,
Just looking for a bit of advice, I've recently bought a MXQ Android TV Box which I hoped to use on our main tv for Amazon Prime Video. I've installed the apk from the amazon website and logged into my account, I can see all the tv and films on offer although when I click to play the file I get the usual orange circle and then the screen goes black and I get redirected back to the choose a video. Seems to work file on my Samsung Tablet and Justop windows mini pc.
Any tried Amazon videos with one of these recently? Any help would be great.
Cheers
Dave
Looks like the trailers are working fine
I have had similar issues with the recent versions of the Amazon video apps. I began to think they just want their fire TV to dominate the tv. I now use a older version of their app side loaded from my 6 year old Sony goggle tv blue ray player which i never update.. It basically gives the Web site for the interface but at least it works. You might use yor Web browser and save the amazon video page as a bookmark on your desktop.

Tried dolphin, Firefox & Chrome to play the videos with no luck on the website. Same as you now though I found an old apk and installed that which plays the videos from the website. ?
I too have the same problem with Amazon prime video on my MXQ. Did anyone find any solution
Same here
Any news about that, i have the same issue, the app installe dcorectly, but when i run the stream .. it says that the app encounted some error.
@RG GEIGER , @DaveG46
What version of the old apk did you find?
Sorry @neffly27 I've since switched to the fire TV cube which has its own set of limitations but happy so far. Anyway I'm not sure of the version of the app I used on my mx box but it was years ago from the original goggle tv on a Sony DVD player.
