Hi,
I recently bought a desire s and I love the phone soooo much but i notices that the screen is very slightly off the centre to the left.
I can still see all the pixels and it still fully works but it bugs me a little bit if my phone is the only one like this.
So what im asking is if there is anyone else has this in any way and if not is it worth sending to Htc to repair? And also does this mean the phone might might have less durability if it is a manufacturing defect?
Maybe im just being paranoid but just thought i would check with you guys.
Thanks in advance =)

Hi I dropped my HTC Diamond/Ignito the other day and the keypad/home button fell off and dropped into a drain, with no insurance I can't send it back for repairs tried searchign the web and can't seem to find this part anywhere. Doeas anyone have any ideas where i could get one from please??
thanks in advance for your help....
Sounds like something you might have to contact the HTC Service Centre for... Ooooor u could try find a dummy phone and rip it off there. Not sure if it'll work though since that pad is touch sensitive...
btw.. can u take a picture so that we can see what it looks like underneath the button?
Sometimes i wonder about the quality of the build.... especially after reading one or two threads about the corner of the piece "peeling" off...
Hi, im going to the USA this week and i want to buy an htc sensation, the thing is im looking for any mayor hardware issues on the phone, i dont care for the low volume or the short battery life (its a smartphone....we rly need to get used to the 8 hour baterry life =P ).....im talking about things that are big like:
* Phone gettin rly hot and making it reboot a lot (happened with my htc desire)
* this rumor about the sensation having some emc issues with the camera
I know theres a lot of threads about the phone issues but what i found out were people complaining on batery life or some apps not working or mostly software issues...... like i said im trying to look for real hardware issues like the death handgrip on the iphone4, i dont want to pay for a 600$ phone that 40% of the first batch production have defective hardware.....i cant go back and get it replaced after i buy it, thats what i get for living in a 3° world country so please dont tell me to move to a civilised country because i cant
My sensation gets really really hot on the bottom of the screen where you type when in the portrait position. I exchanged the phone for another and the second one does the same thing, I can honestly feel the tips of my fingers get hot when I type(really hot). Death grip is very real, same with both phones. Battery life is ok at best. If i could do it again I would wait and get something else. Just my 2 cents. Also phone lockscreen is a bit buggy, sense restarts regularly..........
Also the bottom of the screen goes unresponsive quite regularly, same with both phones. Not sure if that is hardware or software, just so you know
hmmm, seems like the heat issues repeats itself on several forums, and the weird lack of ecm protection of the camera also.
seems like ill be gettin a samsung galaxy s2
thx for the info

I would, I think this will be my last HTC phone, they always make a device with cool features and tremendous potential but never quite cuts the mustard. I have hung in there since the tilt and I think I am done lol
I often lurk the threads of the new devices and I appreciate the brutal honesty you have all displayed.. I tend to be a bit of a lurker. I am a Nexus One owner and I COULD upgrade... but it just doesn't seem to cut it. That being said, I'd never own a Samsung device, HTC has been perfect for me since the G1. Guess I will hold out and cross my fingers that HTC manufactures the next Nexus device.
Turn down the brightness, this will probably solve the issue with the phone getting very hot. 2 days ago, mine got VERY hot where the touch buttons are located. I was quite confused about this because it had not happened before. Then I realized I had set the screen brightness to 100% because I couldn't read the screen in bright daylight a couple hours earlier and forgot to turn it back down. Reset to my usual 15-25% and everything was fine again.
I havent had any overheating or hardware issues. Havent had any problem yet. Great phone!!!!!

ok, if the heat issue can be solved by turning down the brightess im in......i mean i dont care if the sense 3.0 got bugs, they will fix that with future updates, what im worried about is this rumor about the camera taking bad pictures because it got emc leakage , seems like it does not have any emc protection for the lens....thx for the replys btw
Here are some issues:
Dust (I don't have it)
Death grip (very real)
Creaking (not such a big issue, but something that shouldn't happen on an expensive phone like this)
Lockscreen (software/hardware. I think it's software)
And some other things
Swyped from my HTC Sensation
Nothing to really complain about for me. I haven't had response issues. Although the death grip phenomenon is real, I've managed to avoid it by not covering the plastic on the top half on the device. Hopefully, HTC can come up with a new cover if enough people complain. There was one instance where, during GPS use, the metal back cover was almost too hot to hold. I believe that was due more to direct sunlight on my dashboard than the phone itself. Love the polished feel of the new Sense UI. If I could do it over, I'd prefer a Droid Bionic, but only by a very small amount. And that's only because of the speed of the hardware and Verizon's data speed/reception quality where I am. If you're looking to stay on TMO, I'd definitely recommend it.

Hi all,
I am relatively new to these forums, and currently own a desire hd, but i have been offered an upgrade to the Sensation.
Now i may bite there hands off at this chance BUT they are after a £100 security deposit, ( Orange uk btw ) so i cant order untill thursday morning.
What are the pro's and cons's if any about this phone?
Thanks.
***Gawsh i cant spell im that excited lmao!!, Thread title wording is wrong it should be Getting, Not Geeting Rofl****
Now we have S-OFF and the like it's definitely worth getting - OK you'll have all the Orange crap pre-installed but that's easily remedied. Just download the RUU for warranty purposes and off you go!

Hmm ok, Need to find a buyer for my htc desire hd now. ;0)
came from the inspire (desire hd). I wouldnt' have switched, if i didn't make a good deal trading the inspire for notphone, then selling that pos to get the sensation. It is a great phone, but not sure if i'd pay $150-200 extra to get it.
Well I came from a HTC HD2 and I have to say i am very pleased with my Sensation. The speed that the device works with is great and i am still totally stock. The HTC Sense 3.0 does not cause problems with major lag like Sense has been know to do. The 4G speeds are awesome, well when I am in a 4G area at least. Matter of fact the speed I get with a 4G signal is better than my home WiFi speeds.
I do recommend you give the, "[LINK TO FIX][UPD 29AUG]Touchscreen Not Responsive" thread a good read, and the, "[FIX] Touchscreen issues (related to screen's grounding)" thread a good read. Both of these threads are on the known touch screen issue of the Sensation that users are having. I myself had the issue, and had it very bad to I must say. But thanks to both of the linked threads I was able to solve my issue and relieve the great frustration it brought me.
All in all though the Sensation has been a great device so far. My wife and I both have one, although she never has experienced the touch screen issue like me. We both enjoy or phones very much. Hope this gives you some insight.
I would personally say don't get one.. its got issues with over heating. the power button wears out rather quickly.. dust under the screen. Signal issues with the cellular and wifi ariels being in the back cover how you hold the device effects strength.
I would suggest going for what ever the upgrade the sensation with (hopefully they will learn by the mistakes)
I woke up to my first phone smelling burnt to never turn on again.. the heat from the cpu damaged one of the dual flex cables that run down from the pcb at the top of the handset to the pcb that holds the cpu and other components.
The replacement phones's power button wore out but didnt have the issue with loads of heat when using a custom undervolted kernel and with scalling enabled.
the replacment came back from repair and this time they didnt even change the power board PCB all they done was change the speaker on it so its on its way back to have the full PCB replaced (and probably with the exact same revision board that will eventually fail again)
I have never had so many issues with one sodding phone... s-off is the only thing that makes this phone any good.. IMHO
Just a quick question regarding the HTC Sensation.
Got mine last Saturday, already a happy rooted customer using Android Revoloution HD!
Just got a slight issue with the build quality, I'm not even honest if you would call it that? If I squeeze the bottom left of my device between my fingers with minimum force there is a squeaking of the case and device moving together. I know this isn't such a major problem, but for a phone that i'm going to be having for the next two years it isn't ideal. I regard my Sensation as the 'Lamborghini of Phones' and my comparison is that 'If I had a Lamborghini that squeaked every time I pressed the breaks, I would certainly return it.' So the question is, is this a general fault I will find with ALL Sensations, or am I one of the unlucky few?
Thanks Guys!
Naah, you aren't the only one. I am pretty sure other have it too, and I am one of them.
had the same
i just clicked the backcover off and clicked it back on with a little force and now its gone
Pretty much all Sensations have that squeaking noise due to the nature of the backcasing.

Thanks for the replies, guess it saves me bugging Orange for a new phone. Bad design if you ask me, would have been better if they designed the casing to come off like the Mozart!
Hi all,
Got a desire which was working perfectly fine on stock, but sudenly the screen got dark, showing only negative colors.
Attached some pictures (not much to see).
anyone has faced a similar problem?
Understand that this is hardware related (I restored to factory), and will send to HTC for fixing (hope they do it).
Comments welcome.

hi,
No, screen is intact.
The pictures are reflecting a bit of the ceiling my office, which could give you the impression of cracks.

Looks like digitiser is ok but lcd screen knackered some how. You can get digitiser and lcd screen together off ebay.
I know when i had a htc diamond the wrong bootloader would cause screen colour issues.

I'll give a try to the HTC support under the guarantee.
The device has a few scratches, and I hope they don't say that it is related to a knock or something like that.
Whatever it is... if the phone's stock and under warranty, i'd advise sending it over for repair to HTC. If there's no warranty, you can either try repair at an authorized service center, or attempt it yourself (seeing suggestions regarding screen replacement in previous posts) - But the problem is that we don't know if the LCD is faulty or it is a mainboard related problem, or something entirely different, so i think the safest thing to do is to go knock on HTC's door.
Hi all,
So far I've been criticizing HTC for their poor HTC technical service.
Today I have to take my hat off.
I've received the Sensation S fixed in 4 working days, and presented in the best way possible (see attached picts).
Congrats HTC, you are now the best.

Wow, not bad. Did you get a completely new phone or did they just replace the screen or something else? Anyways it's good to see they treat you like a worthy customer, with that box, pen and all. That's really good.
Sent by my fingers to your head.
Now that is great customer support! That box is so awesome! I want one! What else does it come with?
Did you just send the device out on its own?
