Well then this is it. Even if Samsung doesn't release it on the 21st, we'll still have a flashable version very soon.
We will have something to flash tonight, almost guaranteed... Tomorrow night at the latest.

My guess is that samsungjohn pulled some strings. Since source codes are almost always released after official releases.

LOL.
It's interesting to see that samsung is putting the source out before they release the firmware. Usually with these companies its the other way around.
That's why I had to ask I didn't think the source would be up already. Sj musta did some magic Thank you finally.......

Samsung lists devices to get ICS.

http://m.engadget.com/default/artic...-samsung-devices/&category=classic&postPage=1
While obviously our device isn't listed, will an official build from Sammy help our developers?

The answer to that will always be yes. Official builds help port things like CM, AOKP, and other variants.

i built most my aosp sgs2 ics rom without no source other then googles for the build well the chipset manufacture had there own generic source of ics for it which was really really helpfull,

Cyan is beta on one X.

Just to see what is going on on the other One Series phone, looks like they have a fairly functioning Cyanogenmod already.
Hopefully we start getting the Dev's!
Hope this phone will have more visibilty in the next month.
It most likely will. This is still pretty new

Kernel source is a big part of getting AOSP working.
I don't think the Qualcomm One X got source, so they are probably where we are.

Tell that to ProTekk. AOKP release comes out later today for One S, w/ all components functioning. And that's WITHOUT any HTC source code.

Will this release depend on if you have the quad or dual core version?

Every One S is dual core. If you mean CM9 on the One X then I'm going to assume there will be different roms for the dual core and the quad core version.

You know where their kernel source is? I'm trying to find the One S source they are using on their Github but I can only find the prebuilt they have.

JellyBean kernels in development for NS?

I'm fairly new to XDA, so I don't mean to tread on anyone's toes by asking.
Anyone currently developing a JellyBean kernel for Nexus S (or 4G)?

Of course there is. Every Dev who has created a ICS will make a JB. Not sure this is worthy of a thread start. Next week things will start rolling in Kernels and Rom's. Just enjoy JB.
Nothing is coming until we have source. This thread only asks a question that even a little bit of logic would make unnecessary. I don't get why anyone would feel the need to ask it, I mean what's their reasoning? Is every kernel dev is sitting on their hands until someone asks if anyone's working on something?

So, I tried to build a JB kernel, but it won't boot. It appears that Google have not pushed the correct kernel source for the JB OTA...
The PVR userspace libs and kernel driver is mismatched.
So, I've requested the correct source on the Android Building groups, and will release a test version whenever they decide to push that...

It means we'll be able to have kernels built specifically for our device.

Exactly what he said!^^^…it means no more trying to force fixes into kernels...possibly fix screen flickers in AOSP Roms without checking disable hw overlays on every reboot... Being able to make oc/uc settings stick better and possibly get more of the S3s stock features ported into AOSP Roms... In general it means greater possibilities for all future S3 development!
I was wondering why there were so few kernels.
I'm pretty new to all this. Can we use this to compile and install?
