Cyan is beta on one X. - HTC One S

Just to see what is going on on the other One Series phone, looks like they have a fairly functioning Cyanogenmod already.
Hopefully we start getting the Dev's!

Hope this phone will have more visibilty in the next month.

It most likely will. This is still pretty new

Kernel source is a big part of getting AOSP working.
I don't think the Qualcomm One X got source, so they are probably where we are.

Tell that to ProTekk. AOKP release comes out later today for One S, w/ all components functioning. And that's WITHOUT any HTC source code.

Will this release depend on if you have the quad or dual core version?

Every One S is dual core. If you mean CM9 on the One X then I'm going to assume there will be different roms for the dual core and the quad core version.

You know where their kernel source is? I'm trying to find the One S source they are using on their Github but I can only find the prebuilt they have.

The answer to that will always be yes. Official builds help port things like CM, AOKP, and other variants.

yes do to the fact even if we cant use the source (which actually google source is about oh 4000x better.)
The proprietary drivers is what we would after.

i built most my aosp sgs2 ics rom without no source other then googles for the build well the chipset manufacture had there own generic source of ics for it which was really really helpfull,

Original Jelly Bean

I've found a lot of unofficial Jelly Bean ROMS that partially works but I can't find the official Google ROMS nowhere, why xda don't have and official google ROM thread or something.
I know you have to compile it and that kind of things but I don't know why we don't keep posted the original google releases without extras.
I get curious to benchmarking google ROMS and AOSP ROMS and see the difference.
Really? Ever heard of GOOGLE SEARCH?

You have not understood me or I have not explained well
I know you can download the ROM source but I mean to keep it compiled somewhere. Because we only have tuned ROMs and not the original.
I just want to compare ROMS.
Cant wait for this to come out for my S3....

So then what do you mean you want to compare them? What is there to compare on one phone? Changelogs are also available from Google between versions of Android. And in the Nexus forums there are factory images available for going back to stock. You are jumping around quite a bit here.

You can't do that
Devs make roms so they can be compatible and functional on the device they are building for you can't just use Google's and put it on any phone because those are just for the official updates

AT&T 2.20 Kernel Source Available

The kernel source code for the 2.20 AT&T update is finally available on htcdev. I know this doesn't change much, this is just more of a heads up for those who were waiting.

it does change a lot! thats the 4.0.4 source we were waiting for if I am not mistaken
This will help in fixing that LTE bug in CM10/AOKP JB I believe
And freeing up the extra RAM that this kernel unlocks
It's about time

Does not matter anymore. They are using the open source HAL. Mostly all the issues with the camera are gone. Only bust mode is outstanding.
The special functionality with the chip set will be missed though...

I guess I just don't understand why they would give us the source if we can't legitimately use it. Everyone who is rooted/unlocked did it without HTC's consent. Are we supposed to find bugs (without testing?) then submit them to HTC so they can place them in the latest update? Essentially doing the work of their developers?

I really hope the devs really work on this and poop out a lot of new stuff.. the forum been kind of drury recently. When 4.0.3 was released it seemed as though every jizzed themselves twice. But I didn't see too many things available? My first android so I don't know how these things work. Is it because these devs are so badass they don't need source as much as they thought? Lol

My understanding is that by the time the previous kernel source was released, it was already outdated as roms were being built on 4.0.4 instead of 4.0.3. With this, we're up to date at least until 4.1 drops.

Ubuntu For Phone?

Would it be possible for this to be ported to our phones? From my understanding its currently only running on the Galaxy Nexus.

Yep, I was able to port for galaxy tab 2 with some average effort. Its not too difficult to port, butto be honest, lets wait a little more.

You know ubuntu is cm10.1 based, right? And the parts to run it, is almost everything but dalvik (including the kernel).

I'll try to do it myself using this..

Update: I can't do it. I'm not smart enough lol

I give up until someone mirrors almost the complete source to github..

I tryed compiling it using the Ubuntu porting guide, after a few errors which i was able to find a fix for i got it to compile and spit back a zip at me but after flashing it wouldn't boot, ill post tomorrow after i get off work on what i had to change to get it to compile

Maaaan you guys are freakin smart
Power to yeah man, it will take two changes to get it to compile, one is in the bionic folder with the e_pow.c file if memory serves right and the other i cant recall ATM. Ill post what changes i made after work in about 10 hours. And after flashing i got a bootloop
Edit : now that im not half asleep and my brain is working i think know my problem with booting, I'm putting my money on it being that some of the kernel options the guide says to make causes errors during compile, again after work when i get home and at my Ubuntu install ill post the 2 changes i had to make that the guide doesn't list and what options the compile error'ed on with the kernel. And maybe we might want to get a discussion topic going over in the general forum to get all the info about Ubuntu phone on our One S
Edit 2: home now, went in to the configs, and looked agian, there all there....must of been real tired last night and failed using "find"..... fixed it now compiling agian as i type this, and as for the changes i had to make this is what worked for me http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=38399789&postcount=9
