[Q] Help Flashing a Rom - HTC Inspire 4G

I have been trying to flash a certain rom but every time that I try to flash it it goes through the process through clockwork and says it worked but then it starts to start the phone again and it gets stuck at the HTC white screen. I have been trying to flash RCMix3D KINGDOM v1.0. I have tried it about 4 times and every time I try it does this. Please Help.

check out the GENERAL FIXES section in this thread --> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1033353 maybe it will help out with your issue

stop flashing it through rom manager and actually go into cwm, and wipe data, cache, dalvik manually then flash the rom.
the guide he linked you to has that process listed in detail.

i have read in different forums that rom manager is not auto wiping data correctly.. best way around this is to reboot into clockwork mod, go to mounts and storage, wipe cache, data, and system. go to advances and also wipe dalvik cache. then re flash rom and reboot.. also be patient not all roms boot on the first boot at a fast speed. hope this helps

Thank you so much! One problem, every time I get into hboot it won't let me do anything and it starts to apply something... Is it trying to reinstall the PD98IMG that I have on my SD card? I still have that from rooing. Do I still need it?

You have to wait about 20 seconds, until you can do anything.

That is exactly what is happening. Move it out of the cards root directory. Then things will cooperate with you. Good luck.

Thanks! Where should I move it to? I just have it just sitting on my SD card not in any folders or anything.

And Wipe Cache/data/Dalvik
The above will prevent sooooooo many bootloops.

But will that do anything bad?

If your referring to removing the PD98IMG zip, no that not bad at all...once its flashed...you dont need it on your SD card anymore.
And if your referring to wiping cache, data dalvik....thats standard practice before flashing any rom....so no, not bad.

Thank you so much! You guys are great!!!!

[Q]Stuck on boot animation after CWM Restore.

So I flashed CoreDroid HD GB 2.3.3 V7.0 to my phone earlier coming from CM7.0.3. I cleared /data, /cache, dalvik cache, and my battery stats before flash. I of course made a backup in CWM before hand. So I decided I didn't like the ROM so I ran CWM recovery, there were no errors but when I rebooted it got stuck on the boot animation. I removed the battery several times and tried rebooting but it just keeps getting stuck on the boot animation. Sooooooo, any ideas?
Sounds like a bad nandroid I think. Try to flash a new fresh ROM and see if its boot and then try to flash the back up. If it still doesn't work then sorry your gonna have to start fresh

This happened to me once. I suggest whenever the radio/whatever is successfully flashed through hboot, delete any PDIMG98.img from your SD card immediately. It makes restore back-up events much less of an event...I didn't know the removal / reinsert the SD card trick...I reasoned I needed to get that file off my card so ran to Radio Shack just before close to get a micro SD card reader, so I could delete PDIMG98 using my PC...just removing and re-inserting the card really works huh? Cool .

stuck at boot animation of the cyanogen cat
Hi Guys,
I am a newbie and I had recently flashed cyanogenmod t0lteatt stable version on to my SGH-T889V which was working perfectly fine.
I took a nandroid backup after installing the above
My original baseband was t889vvlucmk4 and was working fine with cyanogenmod
Later on I thought of installing the fancy DN3 v5+ rom
I did not see that this one is for a different model of Note 2.. i.e. it was for aN7100 version and resulted in a BASEBAND UNKNOWN and thus no signal.
I tried wipe cache / wipe reset factory and wipe dalvik and restore the nandroid backup ...
Now I am stuck in Cyanogenmod boot animation.
I waited for at least 15-20 minutes. Nothing happened
Any Tips and tricks ?
Dude. U flashed a froyo Samsung ROM to an inspire. Not good!!!

rom manager app g2x

hello all, im very new at this. I currently have G2X rooted stock rom GB, I saw oon googple play about the rom manager and i saw the video example on how they can change the rom. I want to know if anyone has use this app what are the specific steps to use this app with the g2x. I know the phone is special and it may or may not work like the example on google play, also is this app worth it and can it be use safely without damaging the phone.
thank you for the time
You need to flash CWM using NVFlash on the G2x; ROM Manager won't do the trick.
Look in the forum fire a thread titled "Getting Started with your G2x" or something like that.

As long as you used NVFlash for CWM, it's super easy. Just download the ROM you want and save it to your SD card. Then go in CWM, wipe data, cache, and system, then choose "install from zip file"and select the ROM you downloaded. Voila
Oh, and don't forget gapps, too. It installs the same way

You could easily find this but
1.download cm7 and appropriate gapps
2.go into recovery recommended you make a backup
3.wipe data and factory reset, wipe cache partition, go to advanced>wipe dalvik cache
4.go back install zip from SD>pick cyanogenmod
5.install zip from SD>gapps
The names of what to click may be off by a bit and You probably already found this or know how but just in case xD

[Q] Sensation ****-up

Hi all, Sorry if this is in the wrong area but I'm not sure.
I've recently attempted to Root and flash CM9 to my HTC Sensation. I think I have cocked up in a big way.
My troubles are that in my sillyness I neglected to make a back up of the stock ROM and the phone is stuck on the screen with the robot and the swirling blue vortex thing behind him.
My question, is there a way to save the phone and is there a way to return to stock if all is not as it seems?
Oh and I've successfully rooted and flashed a S2 before until I killed it so I have a very limited knowlege when it comes to all the terms of this forum.
Thanks for any help you may be able to give me.
Mitch.
Are you s-off? If worst comes to it you should be able to run an ruu and go back to stock that way.
Have you booted to recovery and done a full wipe? Are you on the right firmware?

S-off isnt terribly important - i guess you followed the htc-dev unlock?
Anyways s-off gives you access to more partitions so you do more with your phone in terms of flashing. In some respects its more desireable but not totally necessary.
An ruu is a rom update utility (check the shipped roms thread in the dev section). Its a windows exe that you run to put your phone into stock mode in all respects. You'll need to run the correct one for your phone though.
As for getting you out of your current situation have you tried doing a full wipe and flashing another rom?
Sent from my ARCHOS 80 COBALT using Tapatalk HD
Yeah I followed the HTCDev site and it was successful. Is S-Off not needed to flash another ROM then? I'll look into the RUU as a just in case thing, are there instructions for it or is it another flash from SD Card thing? By full wipe you mean Data, Cache and Dalvik? Will try now if so.

Yes it does, if you select it. There should be a batch operation to do it. Use the green tick in the top right corner when you first start the app to get the batch operations. Exactly the same if you used it on the GS2.

[Q] **NEED HELP** Phone Stuck on HTC Screen after Radio Update!!

Hello,
So hopefully I haven't screwed up royally here, but here's the problem:
Rooted phone, running CM7.2 Nightly (I forget the version)
Went to update radio from this wiki (wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Speedy_Info) page - checksum matched.
Renamed file to PG06IMG.zip
Booted into HBOOT, ran update, rebooted.
HBOOT Info:
-----------------
SPEEDY XE ENG S-OFF
HBOOT - 0.93.2001 (PG0610000)
RADIO - 1.08.00.0506 (Seems the radio did update)
eMMC-boot
-------------------
Tried to reboot but now stuck on the HTC Logo screen.
What do I do now? And can you explain in layman's terms please? Still not privy to the technical stuff.
Latest radio for the Shift is 1.08.01.0111, do a search for it here, flash it in the same manner and see if it boots.

Well the only screen I can get to is the HBOOT screen, which automatically tries to update from the PG016IMG.zip file on my sd card. Even I choose not to update, my only option is reboot. I assume the only other way around this is to delete that file of my sd card from my computer...unless there's another way I'm missing.
I'll attempt that as well once I'm at my home computer.

Use the ROM for recovery or cleanup batch. Make sure to backup data from internal SD card.
Another ROM from CWM should work though. Make sure to wipe data and cache.
I would have a $500 brick if it weren't for nvflash. Thanks Nvidia!

I've tried that as well. NV Flash didn't work either, I'll work on it some more in the morning. Thanks for more feedback of course.

It looks like that was tried and didn't work.
Any update from my earlier suggestion?

Nope, still nothing. I have all the drivers installed on my computer but it doesn't seem to want to detect the device. How odd..

No issues at all. APX shows up but the S/W upgrade doesn't show up.. My HTC One came today so I'm not too concerned about it anymore, though it'd be nice to have a backup phone.
try this. know where it says LEAVE THE BATTERY OUT? f**k that. take the battery out, BUT when it recognizes the phone put it back in then run the flash.bat I sent you

Funny thing is that I've tried that but every time I run it, it opens and closes right away.
after it was recognized? did you try to start the .bat then put the battery in as well?

If it opens and closes right away then the phone is NOT connected in APX mode.
Does it show up in the USB list as APX device?
