There's been a lot of posts about cases lately and I'm obsessive over having the best suited case for my phones. As of last night I now have all the big name cases. The OEM "hard shell" case made by HTC, the hard rubberized one sold by T-Mobile, as well as the Otterbox. I'm working on a full review with pics in between my studying and classes so I'll try to have it up by late tonight or tomorrow at the latest.
I have to say I'm not FULLY satisfied with any of them, as they each definitely have flaws, but at least people will be able to see which one best suits their needs.

Sweet man! I've got the otterbox and the tmo hard rubber case, and i actually use the otterbox for the back and the rubber for the front. I love it. I'm interested to see what you do.

Just ordered the Otterbox since the HTC OEM snap on case isn't available anywhere!

If you have a rubberized one, it'll fit great.
And btw, what does OEM stand for? Haha

OEM is original equipment manufacturer, just means its an actual HTC product. Yea, right now I'm using the HTC front but I don't like how the camera button isn't covered. The tmo rubber one is just too sticky in my pockets and blocks both the top of the keyboard and the left side of the screen when trying to drag across home screens.

OH YAY another thread about the same 3 cases everyone reviews
I have the otterbox commuter case, work's great, doesn't add to much weight to the phone.
Just a fun little poll. Nothing else really going on anyway since this hasn't been released on tmo yet . Do you keep your screen protector that comes with the phone on? take it off and have it naked? or go out and buy a good screen protector?
At the moment mine its makes. No one has a good protector yet. But tomorrow tmobile should have some

Same here, desire hd screen is still in good nick. Also i use my leather pouch that came with my HD2 two years ago , sold the phone but kept the pouch, i knew it would come in handy one day and the sensation fits in it so nicely.
This phone is so beautiful, it'd be a shame to cover it in screen protectors or cases
i still have the stock protector on..lol. waiting for tmo to have theres
bought the HTC one from tmobile and it is fantastic, can't even tell it's on
I have the HTC protector from T-Mobile. Pain in the butt to put on and work out the bubbles. Looks ok, but scratches easily. Oh well, better it than the screen.

Is a screen protector even necessary?
I was at the T-Mobile store last week, looking at a G2X. I've been shopping there for years, and the manager knows I root and everything, and that I want the best phones when they're out. He also knows I'm hard on my phones, so he demonstrates the G2X's gorilla glass by bashing his keys into it. Nothing happens. He smashes the keys into the screen of the phone, beats the hell out of it, digs them in, everything, and nothing, not a scratch. Then, he latter goes "ooh, ooh, let me show you this cool phone we have in back" and he pulls a Sensation out of the back. I instantly fall in love. Thing is, I really am hard on the phones, and the gorilla glass would be a great benefit for me, as I've broken a few screen before now. I asked him if it had gorilla glass as well, he said he didn't know.
So, I went home, and looked online, and everywhere I go it says it does have gorilla glass.
My question is, after that long rambling rant, if these phones really do have gorilla glass, why bother with a screen protector?

I guess it's the extra care you want to put into the phone. I personally don't want to put a screen protector on but I have been placing them on my phones for the past 4 years. I don't want to take any chances lol
gorilla glass/sensational screen
while i think the GG definitely provides added protection, i would never advise being reckless like that. the one thing i did want to say which i havent seen anyone post yet was how clean the screen stays. i have had the phone since 6/12 and havent used a micro cloth once. while using outside i definitely noticed some streaks due to warmer temps and sweatier fingers, but they literally have disappeared. has anyone else noticed this? incredible self cleansing screen or dumb luck? ill take it as an added bonus. the phones getting better every day.
But if it has gorilla glass, you really aren't taking any chances. Have you seen this stuff?
I just bough some screen protectors and a case for my phone from T-Mobile .

I'm using incredible S screen protector at the moment. A little bit bubble on the curve side up and down the screen. But it fit well and i'm cool with it temporary

I'm going up to t mobile later to see if they have some cases. For those who have it naked: you guys are able to use swype with ease? I find it alot easier with a protector on. And I hate smudges and fingerprints and what not.

Well I bought that with the screen protectors and they gave 20% off both things. It was 16.99 before the discount and 13.59 after. Its pretty nice though.

My sensation has a wifi bug where if I turn it sideways, wifi completely turns off. Can I return it to tmobile if I bought it from walmart? And if not, do I have to go back to ths specific walmart I bought it from for an exchange? Or can I go to any one?

Does anyone elses tbolt click a little when pushing on the sides of the phone, the edge around the screen? Mine clicks and creaks like its sticking to glue or something but not staying stuck... should i exchange it?
Do you have the extended battery?
no phones stock i just got it yesterday, hasnt been droped bumped anything, and it creaks if i press down on the screen when its laying flat on a desk.
Mine does that right around the volume rocker. I'm not worrying about that or the slight light leak from the bottom. It's not rebooting itself, so I'll see how it goes.
Yes, exchange it!! I just went through that with one. Sometimes it wouldn't do it, like when it was hot and when I tried to replicate the issue in the store I couldn't so they wouldn't give me a new one. Finally I put it back in the box for a day and it started popping again. It was like the screen was loose or something.

How does that help the OP? Or did you just want to do a MyTouch 4G ad? Lol Before you go blowing MyTouch's horn, check this out...http://www.engadget.com/2010/11/05/t-mobile-mytouch-4g-review/.
My Thunderbolt only creaked when I bought the extended case. Exchanged it for another one and it stopped creaking. Three days later it was creaking again. If I put my regular case back on, no creaking! I've learned to put up with it.

Thanks for the input, im going to head into the verizon store when i have time on monday. I can easily replicate it because it does it i would say 90% of the time, and even if i cant replicate the screen part, the edges all around the screen do it constantly. I got a lemon

Wouldn't hurt to show it to them. My thing is just that there seem to be a lot of phones with rebooting issues that I don't think they are exchanging, asking customers to wait for the update that is supposed to fix it...
Just tried mine again and now it isn't clicking...
Maybe make sure your battery cover is properly on all the way around. HTC really could make better battery covers.
Hello,
I have searched all over the YouTube and many places but was unable to find how I open the lens glass cover and clean the dust moisture under it.please please help.

Someone Told me to go to AT&T and see if they will clean it for you... Might as well try Hope this helps
But no AT&T for me!!!! I dont live in the US, I visited US, bought this phone on Craigslist Sandiego. Came back home to India!!!!!!!!!!...Does this mean again I got no chance. :-(
I found this video finally, the keyword that did it was "dismantling" inspire 4G.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OC5KydQ52x4
Please please suggest shall I go ahead step by step looking at this video. This does seem to be a little delicate!!!!!!!!...
Again any suggestions would be nice.
PS: Warning guys, this happened due to me taking the phone into a hot steaming shower room. Not exactly under the shower. But seems like moisture did creep in!!!..I thought these parts were vacuum or airtight packed!!!?!?!?!..maybe I was wrong!!
Please help guys..that guy in the video does make it look very easy. Is it really that easy.
Thanks,
D
Put it in a bag of rice over night. Rice absorbs moisture.

When I'm on speaker phone there is a really bad echo for the other person.
I googled it and it seems like its a wide spread issue.. but I couldn't find any solution.
Anybody know of a fix?
Sent from my Nexus S 4G using XDA
I'm having the same problem. Also seeking advice.
Sent from my Nexus S 4G using XDA
I looked into this a while ago and found out the echo problem was primarily caused by the back cover. If you remove the back cover, the problem goes away. I tried to see if I couldn't fix it by placing some tissue paper between the phone and the back cover such that the speaker and the mic were isolated.nothing really worked all that great. note that I don't really know any of the basics of acoustics or sound isolation, I was just trying out a half witted idea. maybe someone with more knowledge can figure this out? I solved my problem by getting a cheap Bluetooth headset, but still think it would be great if there was a simple diy fix.
Sent from my Nexus S 4G using XDA
I've tried the suggested put a thin piece of foam, taking the back off etc... nothing seems to work.
Sent from my Nexus S 4G using XDA
I found that I can Get quasi speakerphone capability by cranking up the volume on the earpiece. That way I can hold the phone a few inches away from my ear. But that's as good as it gets.
Is there a way to further push up the volume on the earpiece?
I was able to fix the issue using a small rubber band. I basically creating a small rubber gasket that makes sure the sound is pushed out instead of down the back cover and into the mic. It was trial and error, but it works!

Hopefully the pictures post correctly. I've honestly just been a lurker for several years from back when I had a g1 and mytouch. I finally have something potentially worth posting! If you go through the pictures, you can see I actually went a different route, and used these little spongy sticky feet from Walmart, because I was able to cut it in half to control the bulk. The blue rubber band from a thing of cilantro worked, but if you see the last picture, it was too bulky and I couldn't close the cover tight. You can pretty much get creative and make it work. Just make sure the sound is sealed to go out of the intended slots.

Very helpful! Thanks!
Off to Walmart to find the sticky pads.

I hope it works for you! I did it to both my wife's and my phone and called several people to confirm it not echoing. I also hope Walmart has those feet as I bought them years ago when we had first moved and just recently found them in a junk drawer.

It was a no go. I am getting a replacement from sprint because my search button went out so hopefully the new (refurb) doesn't have the speaker phone problem.
