Does anyone know a way to get the original captivate lockscreen on a custom rom? Or know any roms that contain it?
This was the glass lockscreen with puzzle pieces that take you directly to a missed call or sms. (different from the regular puzzle lockscreen many roms currently have, that are puzzle even with no missed activity)
allllllot of roms have it as an option im prettey sure cm7 has it but not 100% and if your confident with bootloaders and going to gingerbread subpression and simply sgs2 both have 9 lockscreen options including the glass and puzzle locks

It doesn't. Along with a laundry list of other things.
I also have been looking for this to add back to my custom ROM. I am on cognition and the glass screen provides no puzzle piece link to missed calls or texts. I like the puzzle lock on this rom though.
I was previously on Continuum v4 and v4.1 and that rom DOES have the original samsung glass lock screen. Overall though, I prefer cognition so I can live with the puzzle lock which does do the links to calls or texts.

Look for a rom that has it. Most Tom's with multi lock screens have it as an options except for CM Tom's which will never have it as it is a touchwiz feature
Andromeda 3 has it and several others.

is there a way to replace my 1.5 lockscreen with the eclair version? i mean without the need for a 3rd party lock app? i see it can be done in 2.1 but i wasn't sure about a 1.5 build?

I'm not sure you can. I know some ROMS come with it but besides having lockbot I don't think you can do it without having 2.1.

I remember this coming up a few months ago, and I thought the 2.1 lockscreen on 1.5 was a no go...
What's the deal you drop 2.1 to get back to 1.5?
it's possible, but i doubt anyone is willing to backport the apk to 1.5 especially with 2.1 dropping within a few weeks. The nexus one news and weather widget was backported for example, but i dont think people are willing to put in all this effort with 2.1 around the corner.

stock android lockscreens are not apk.s they are in the codes you can run the stock donut lockscreen when on donut roms or enclair lockscreens when on enclair

thanks for the responses...ill just wait until the 2.1 update comes out.
and the reason i don't like lockme or lockbot is ...it's an app that doesn't fully let your phone sleep which drains the battery more.

mine slept fine with it installed but it laged to much for me to keep so i went back to custom locksceens from NOJ (for 1.5 roms)

kind of. for me it was too laggy for a replacement. i'd press menu and have to wait for lockbot to bring up the lockscreen. it was counterproductive for just a nicer looking screen.

exactly why i just uninstalled it after 48 hours of use...
also, its not treated like a regular lockscreen and my handscent messages were popping up over it even though i have the setting to only show after the lockscreen is removed which works perfectly again after uninstall... nice concept, but not refined enough for me...

+1 to everything above. Also it doesn't allow the adjustment of media volume when the screen is off.
So MIUI is an awesome overhaul but definitely not ready for use as an everyday Rom just yet. What I was wondering is if there were any way or anyone who could port just the lock screen replacement from it. And if not, are there any replacements out there like it?
I would love to see someone point to google voice instead of the default messaging app.

This was so long ago...LOL. does MIUI still use the dual slide lock screen? Last I used it was on Rodriguez and the dual pic slide was removed. Not sure if this was rom specific or through MIUI though.

Miui does use the slide with phone/lock/message keys. But MIUI has an amazing theming system, so it comes in many forms.
Not ready for everyday use?!?! Guess need to move over to another ROM seeing as how I've been using MIUI everyday for months...

Guess you don't know how to read. This thread was posted back when MIUI was brand new and extra buggy not to mention not even fully translated. So chill out. MIUI has come a long way in a short period. I don't use it full time but I've flashed versions and its pretty nice now.

Personally, I would love to see it added to Widget Locker. I already use MIUI as my daily ROM, and I love it! I also love Widget Locker, but I haven't used it in a while since I like MIUI's lock screen. Combine the best of both worlds, and we'll have a winner!

Just wanted to see if anyone was working on any lock screen mods. I love the stock lockscreen as much as anyone, but coming from the vibrant, I just happened to like the glass lockscreen (and then the honeycomb mod right before the g2x released).

Have you tried WidgetLocker? Lot's of customization....might suit your needs.
I just want a modified lock screen with the emergency call button removed.
So I am still trying to figure out how to turn on that one feature where you can reject calls by saying "Reject!" Maybe its not supported on my ROM (I'm on the newest Synergies builds).
Therefore, I was wondering if some of you could list some of your most favorite features of the GS3....whatever that may be in order to make your day-to-day operations easier.

My favorite feature? The unlocked bootloader
I've been running CM10 for a week or so now and I have to say that I really miss the tw camera on the stock GS3. I don't know if you consider the camera software a feature or not but that app is amazing.

Yeah I think there are ways you can take it out of the TW ROM and place it into CM10...I'm just waiting for CM10 to stabalize and off I go! I've had it for a few days and seems good! the HDR Camera+ and Camera360 are great too!
I haven't seen anything like that. The TW camera app is what has kept me from going to CM10. I also like the TW calendar more than AOSP.

Believe me, I've tried to get it in there. I've ported over various tw framework files along with it but just can't get it to work.
Let me qualify this by saying that I'm no dev and don't *really* know what I'm doing
MB when JB is released officially for this phone it can be ported.

Unofficial AOKP Jellybean is working breat for me. Only ROM I've used so far and I have had zero issues mentioned in its thread.
I hated TW and VZW bloat was too much
Personally, the one thing I would love if it worked right is the smart stay. I love the idea behind it, but in practicallity, unless I have the phone oriented just right it won't work. I've check the camera without moving, and I've had more than 3/4 of my face in easy view and still the screen would shut off.

The smart stay doesn't actually recognize your face. It throws that little eyeball notification in the status bar so it will distract you and your eyes move to "see what it is" the camera picks up your eye movement(or doesn't) and either keeps the screen on or not.

i think the tw cam is based on code from the touchwiz framework. i doubt you can use it on cm10. but the aosp camera in the i9300 forum is really nice if you want cm10. i also love the phone and contacts apps. and the motion controls are really cool.
Google wallet! (though needing hacked lib files/apk is stupid,! )

That's awesome! Maybe some of the newer builds have cleaned up. When I had it, I never had issues either but read horror stories so just to be safe I went back to TW...maybe I'll try it again.

Seriously? Well that actually sounds really stupid now, because I've actually been trying to train myself to ignore it. I hate that thing and find it really distracting. Also, how then is it supposed to work in an app which displays in full screen mode?

I think the coolest feature of the phone is the great progress all of the developers have made so far with unlocking the bootloader, getting ROMS ported over and all of the awesome stuff that is to come (MIUI hint hint)
Hello everyone,( oh and please move this if there is a more appropriate location for my questions) I have recently gotten into romming due to the just... eww of the stock tmobile t679's well... everything...
what am I running now? I was swapping around a few different roms and have settled down on two I like pretty well which are pacman for jellybean 4.2 and baked blackbean 4.2. At this exact moment I'm on the baked. I have a couple questions about some customizations I'd like to do (basically have done for me so I can just apply them as I am not really talented in the ways of photo manipulation) and one question about hardware buttons.
Starting with the hardware buttons, the one thing I miss from the stock rom is the "touch light duration" feature, as being on a samsung with hardware touch buttons I have come to enjoy leaving the lights on as long as my screen is active. Is there still a way to do this? on ANY rom, or could there be some work around? I really don't like the soft button idea as they take up too much of my screen. (yes I have tried it) Please and thank you for any advice on that front.
Now on to the fun and colorful part. I very much enjoy the cm10 bootanimation and I've seen a couple images of it in other colors. What I would like, if someone was so awesome as to put it together for me a custom color changing version with my name in the middle. I can pull up the image with the colors I like if anyone decides to tackle this. (I know how to apply the new bootanimation, just need it made)
The other thing I would like to change is my boot splash, not that I don't love what the custom rommers out there have made for all of us to enjoy, but the team insomnia logo just isn't my cup of tea. I would love something a bit more... purple and girly. Again I have an image in mind if anyone wants to make it into an easily flashable or otherwise installable format. I have no idea how to do this one.

i wanna say that there should be a option under display probably on most roms on how to change the duration. if not Cyanogenmod should have that option i 75% sure but im not on CM anymore so i wouldnt remember xD

well one person's stock trash is another one's stock treasure =p as far as the buttons go, I was on cm and I didn't find an option for it, but I still could have missed it and it was staring right at me. Thanks for the reply

I just went back and tried 10.1 again and still don't see a way to change button light duration. Oh well, I have the stuff I want for my bootanimation on my fb already as well as what I'd like for a bootsplash image, so send me a message and I'll link you up. =)
