[Q] Android Market Apps Pushed from Web Issues - Eee Pad Transformer Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I had a friend use my TF and he decided to use his Google account to buy an app. He tried the app then uninstall and got a refund for it. He then removed his account from my TF, but now is where the problem occurs.
His account is no longer on the TF, but my TF still shows up on his Android Market Account. He is able to push apps to the TF anytime he wants. This is kind of annoying! I was wondering if anybody knew how to make it so he can't do that anymore?
Thanks!

I would image doing a factory reset would. Alteast it those on android phone.

woudn't going to settings/applications and clearing the cache from gapps fix the problem?

[SOLVED] Can't connect to set up account for market

It seems both myself and another user, spanning 4 ROMs, seem to be having a marketplace problem I was hoping others could confirm. Whenever we try to set up an account for the marketplace, the setup app returns "Can't establish a reliable data connection to the server." I'm trying to figure out if this is our problem, or something gone wonky on Google's end. Can anyone else confirm? Is there an alternative way to force the account into the tablet through a hack of some kind?
* Note: this is setting up a new account, not when trying to do something under an account you've already added to the device.
UPDATE
Thanks to thebadfrog for piecing the bits together on this to figure out what was happening. He's also got Market Enabler available for download at http://dl.dropbox.com/u/18721949/ch.racic.android.marketenabler-1.apk
Download Market Enabler, copy to device, tap to install
Open ME, select Settings List
Tap and hold on a carrier
select "fake this provider now" > allow
Cant establish comms to google
I get teh same message when I try to do anything with Google. just got a new tab and flashed to Vegan plus the supplement. Any attempt to use a google ID with google stuff (GMail, google voice, marketplace) fails, but I can get the same gmail account through the regular mail client (not Gmail client).
Any idea what is going on.. please post..
I will most ceratinly confirm this, been messing with this for the better part of the day. I found a way to get a account onto the tab, but you can not use it to access the market, gmail and my calendar will access fine but no market love.
The "fix" for getting an account onto the phone was to login to you gmail account through the youtube app. It works but like I said it doesn't let you access the market.
Going to start assuming that Google is screwing something up again.
To add a little more, running the latest vegan and had the tab setup last night and working. After tinkering today I did a complete reinstall of the rom and that is when it quit. The other tablet that I also setup is still working and had apps installed today.
As a note to people with more knowledge then me, when I go to clear the cache for the market app, its greyed out and show a zero size.

I'm having the same problem. Does anyone have a solution to this problem?
I'm experiencing the same problem. I had it working with TNT Lite 4.2, then I went to do the market fix and it wouldn't connect. So I reflashed it and no luck. I even went back to the stock TNT and then re flashed clockwork and then tnt. I am thinking google may be trying to block us out or something, because this is not a Google approved device and I can log in on my Galaxy tab and Droid 1.
I assume that the approved devices may pay a royalty or something for market access. I'd be more then willing to pay a bit if it meant I wouldn't have to deal with this.

Having the same issue. I've had it working since Saturday, but after downloading Twitter, TnT lite 4.20 started giving me the "android.process.acore has stopped repsonding" error every few seconds, so I did a factory reset, hasn't worked since. I have reflashed TnT lite, stock, CWM, and Vegan beta 5 and I always get the same error.
I'm have this same issue with my eLocity A7 after a re-flash. Luckily I had re flashed my g tablet earlier and set it up prior to this mess.
If I wasnted big brother controlling what I can and can't do, I would have just gotten an iPad.
...seems to me like Google's been monkeying with the market since the beginning of the year... my guess is that they're prepping for honeycomb & tablets...
The Google acct workaround is run the youtube app which will prompt for acct IIRC, or maybe add it in manually(been a while since I last did it this way) which will get acct syncing but market still appears to be borked for new people(according to posts), while people who had it previously setup, it is still working...
(Mine worked fine this morning, but I haven't tried it since then...)
Question, since I have another working tab, is there a way to copy over its partitions to the one that cant get market access?
They had been setup using the same credentials, so from a user/password issue, having them have exactly the same info is fine.

Got a solution. Install Market Enabler and select a carrier. That'll make the Market happy again.
I dont suppose someone has or will be willing to make a nandroid backup for us so we can restore it?
Install this apk to spoof Google into thing you have service

Many many many many market fixes and reboots later my market is working fine. Even Appbrain. I did nothing different other than to stop google framework and clear casche, stop market and clear cache. For good measure I sometimes threw in Titanium backup to clear caches although I could see they were already empty. Then reboot - and wait and wait and then try again. There does seem to be some efficacy to letting the system sit for some time before you try the market again after rebooting but honestly I can discern no pattern. Once the market is working, you kind of get conservative about messing it up again. Now if only the wifi security would mysteriously fix itself....
+1 Thanks badfrog. Worked for me.
Thank goodness the Market Enabler works so well. Although I hope google fixes this problem. Last night my G Tab was fine until I flashed Vegan 5.1
Android FTW
Market Enabler
I downloaded this and it enabled me to login to Google and Marketplace.
Thanks!

[Q] does android 2.2 cache your account type? app vs regular account

Been trying to get the android app chrome to phone to work on my phone. it says the it does not support google apps accounts, unless they have been transitioned over to the new system. My account has been transitioned. But chrome to phone still says it's an app account.
I tried removing chrome to phone and reinstalling it - no effect.
As i test i decided to do a full factory wipe and then add my account back to the phone and install chrome to phone, and it worked! So i'm wondering if when i added my account previously (before it was transitioned) if something on the phone is still flagging it as an app account? i tried to remove the account so i could add it back in, but it wont let me saying certain apps use the account (would be nice if it said which apps) and instead says i need to a factory wipe.
I really don't wont to do a full wipe of the phone just to install this one app.
Anyone have any ideas on how to resolve this without a full wipe?

[Q] Can't download/install any market apps

Today I received my new shiny Asus Transformer, everything works great except the Market itself...
I can't even download any apps, paid or free. When I try to download any apps, it start like trying to download, but there is no progress on notification bar and it just keep like that.
I reset the tablet several times, also, cleaned the cache of the Market and Framework services, shutdown (restart) several times... nothing
Is this happening to anyone? I searched this forum and performed the steps above, but still nothing...
Please, help
Have you look into My App area, you will see, not installed list of apps. I get that as well...I am not sure if it's a bug or intended. Sometimes, it would stay at download forever. I got to go out and go back into the Market and redo it all over.

Yes, sometimes the apps I am trying to download don't even appear there and sometimes it does. When it says "Installing" sometimes, 1 hour can pass and still nothing... no progress on the notification bar.
In fact, I can't install anything from there, not even using the website version, https://market.android.com/
I had/have this same issue I think its a bug in the market app. I've just flashed the new firmware and it seems to work OK now.
My solution was to press back over and over until I exited the market fully, then start a new instance of it. Works on and off.
Ill let you know if the update solves this issue.

Thanks for the info.
I tried that, still no luck I need to know if this is a widespread issue or not.
I have the EVO and tried to download apps and install them now without any problems.
Also, I have discovered that I can't log in into GTalk either, but I can browse without any issues.

Sounds like an odd issue with your account. Try to check settings, accounts an sync .. and see if anything is amiss. If not, then try to create a new gmail account, and use that to login to market/gtalk. See if there is some confusion as to your phone account and your tablet. Do you have settings>Privacy ticked off for google to back up your apps and sync them? Try disabling if so.
Had same issue and went into settings and had to delete my gmail account and then add it again, worked fine after that!
Thanks for the replies.
1. The Backup and Restore settings are turned off.
2. I have created another Google account and removed the original, still the same problem.
3. The EVO is currently off just in case.
After doing some research, I've discovered that Gtalk have something to do with the Market, if Gtalk can sign in, then the market should works for downloads. If not, then there is a problem.
ok... wtf
After adding a new Google account while replacing the original one, the issue still happened.
Then, I decided for a million times, to make another Factory Reset with my original account again... now GTalk logon and the Market download/install apps
I will keep this thread in mind and report if anything weird happens again.
Android Market hates me. I didn't really want to have to create another gmail account but I have tried every other trick posted and still can't get apps to download.
I had this same problem with my Samsung Fascinate. 3G would download fine but I couldn't get WiFi to work until just recently when I updated the radio that came with the OTA Froyo update plus a new custom rom/kernel. I'm not sure which piece all of the sudden made things work but I was certainly happy. What's so frustrating is that I set up a Droid on the same home network with absolutely no problems from day one.
Amazon App store works fine but many of the apps I want aren't available there. Grrr.

This occurred to me after rooting the TF. I was able to correct it by going into applications and force stop and clearing data on both Market and both google framework services. Then try to restart market, if you don't get a error go back to applications and do it again. Once you get the error reboot, when you try market after the reboot it will ask you to accept terms again and then all is was right again with the world.
I have the same problem. How I can do a Factory Reset?
It was working ok but now it gives an error with the server. Eventually it will download the aplication after trying several times but will fail in the instalation. I have deleted and created again my account with no results.
Welcome to my problem. Another member told me the issue lies with our google accounts and how it syncs up with the market.
I have tried the other methods deleting cache / signing in and out etc. to no avail.
Only solution is to factory reset. Sad thing is it has happened to me 3x in the past 5 days.
I only hope for a solution to this soon.
3 times, that is scary.
Something has surprised me when I upgraded my phone to the new Galaxy S 2 from HTC HD 2 running an Android rom. When I introduced the google account it automaticaly pointed me all the aplications that I had installed in the old phone (free or paid) and give me an easy option to install all quickly. They were identified as my aplications, even they were not installed.
Is this funtion present here? It will remember what aplications I had installed in the transformer before or I will need to look for all of them again?
solution to download apps
press on apps on the home screen. then press on market. this will get you started click on sign in at top right of screen. it should automatically do a sign in with your google account. then go from there

Use something like Astro or Titanium Backup to back up the apps that are giving you problems, then uninstall and restore them. I used to have a the same problem and this solved it for me. Also, I would always get a force quit error when starting up certain apps.

[Q] Weird problem with google play and purchased apps

Honestly, not sure that this has to do with my transformer, but my tf101 seems to be the only device affected by the following problem:
When i go to google play, if i try to install an app that i had purchased in the past, it stays stuck on download and doesn't even start. I tried to redownload the same apps on other devices (lg 2X for example) and it works fine. My transformer did work fine until last week as well.
I've got no idea of what could be causing this, any suggestions? I tried switching back and forth from different google accounts but the problem persists. Reinstalling google play didn't work either.
Edit: it would look like redownloading certain apks works, seems like it only doesn't work with larger apk files (> 2mb, but it may be a coincidence). I'm even more confused now
Edit2: The issue is definitely related to apk dimension. Can't install from market apks larger than 20mbs. How is this possible? i'm still on honeycomb stock to avoid the ics mess, and i can remember downloading large apks fine just few months ago. Any solution?
You could try wiping your cache, force closing play, and if you're rooted wipe market stats in Titanium Backup, that should probably fix it.
Also try the install button off of a computer, and then it sends to your tf, that might get it to work.
Regarding large files... is your wifi connection decent?
Also, make sure you are able to connect and login to Talk. The Play store doesn't work properly unless you can log Talk, been there a few times. With mine, even trying to install free apps would give a purchasing error because Talk connection was getting interrupted before logging in.
