My Galaxy S2 has suddenly started freezing and rebooting after 4 wks of previously working flawlessly... anyone else had any probs? It will just freeze then reboot and also, last night froze on the O2 splash screen for about 1 minute on shutdown.
I had no problems until I installed an SD card and APPS2SD APP.
Next time it freezes, i'll move all my APPS back to phone and reinstall all moved APPS and report back if it solves prob.
Any Android diagnostics tools to monitor or read errors if any are logged?
I'm sure it's not the phone's hardware as was working perfectly before.

but u have a custom or stock rom??
if your phone stucks when boots u can use the android sdk and via adb parameters u can enter this in the shell when your phone goes to boot,,
Just enter the following command in order to view the boot process.
Code:
adb logcat
with this command u can see the problem on boot.... and solve it...

Try with other battery, or check if all buttons are on their places. If it's still rebooting you can start searching new device
Hiya,
Very frustrated noob here. I have an unrooted/locked-bootloader 2nd Gen Moto G and a few weeks ago I tried to turn it on after charging it overnight and after the usual loading screen it went straight to a message saying "Optimising App 1 of 152", and after going through all the 152 apps it just restarts immediately without reaching the normal PIN input screen, and starts the "Optimising" all over again and repeats this until it runs out of battery and dies. I have tried waiting for it to die, charging a little and then entering recovery mode, where I tried wiping the cache partition which made no difference. I don't mind about getting the phone up and running again as I'm getting a new one, but is there some way of getting my files off it? There are some music recordings I made that I stupidly didn't backup that I'd really really like back. For example, is it possible to reinstall the latest OTA from an SD card without losing all the data on the phone that might kick it out of whatever it's looping? Any help at all much appreciated, cheers
1. If you want to take backup of ur data then Flash TWRP Recovery And Reboot to recovery and then connect your phone to pc and tada ur done.
2. u can flash another Roms Which can solve ur booting problem too.
Hi all!
My S7 is unrooted, completely stock, running latest 6.0.1 official update
Few days back I updated some apps from the play store and after that, my phone suddenly restarted on its own
This sudden restarting kept on increasing and currently the device boots up for a few seconds, and then freezes and restarts again
I know there's some faulty app that's causing the restarts, because once i managed to turn the UPSM on before the device restarted and it worked fine, with all the apps disabled
I have tried to get a logcat to look for the issue but I can't do that properly as I haven't taken any logcats before and i'm not familiar with the process
I have already tried to flash the stock firmware but that didn't help either
Is there any way or solution to get this fixed? Or can anyone here help me on how to get a logcat so that I can look for the error causing app?
There's a lot of stuff on my phone and I can't risk losing it by factory resetting it
I would boot into safe mode, backup my data first. Then start uninstalling apps I do not need and see removing which one fixes the issue.

I've booted into safe mode as well, but that isn't helping either
The same keeps happening in same mode as well. The device boots up, and after some 30 seconds it freezes and restarts and gets stuck in a loop
Hello again Xda community I really need some advice here because I'm unfortunately having problems with my phone at first it was a problem with it randomly crashing. In order to address that problem I did the following things - I prevented all apps from running in the background, I set several apps to run on the low data usage setting, and I even cleared the SIM toolkit cache as well as the individual caches of apps that I regularly use but for some reason my phone was still crashing. After installing the latest update my phone was stuck in a boot loop, it's stopped doing that, but it's now stuck on the Samsung galaxy logo screen.
You may have to flash your phone with Odin to fix the issue if you're stuck on boot loop and can't get pass it.

Well, I've managed to turn my phone on again by pressing the power button and the up button, but I'm still having the problem in regards to my phone constantly crashing. One thing that I forgot to mention in my original post is the fact I also removed a large number of files which I was no longer using. I backed these files up by transferring them to my external hard drive even after doing that my phone was still crashing from time to time.
I'm not 100% sure, but It might have something to do with all of the data being kept in my internal storage instead of my SD card which isn't recognised.
Pardon for a long story but someone gave this Samsung J7 Prime(SM-G610F) to me with an issue "An Error Has Occurred While Updating The Device Software". So I gave Samsung Smart Switch a try sadly they removed the Initialize option and old version don't seam to do what it suppose to do so I wen to a traditional Odin flashing. I then look for a stock rom for the phone that I think is the right one. Started with android 6 MM region pakistan and flashing went well. I was able to use it for a good hour or two until I notice it restarted by it self, then it keeps doing it 10-20 seconds after booting up. I though its the firmware I'm using so I went and look for Oreo version this time I region india (I don't know if region matters). So I flashed it again and tested the device again. I'm still able to use it for a good while till it restarted again. I then keep testing it to see what may be causing the problem. I notice that when the WIFI is on it just crash the phone to reboot so as soon as the phone reboots I turned the wifi off and it didn't crash anymore. I then factory reset the phone cleared everything, wipe cache then installed benchmark tools first. Thing I notice is it crashes when Google Play store is trying to install or download something. I tested it a couple of times to see when it crash and it does crash when downloading or installing something. I was still able to install 3Dmark and run it with wifi off. It completed the test without crashing so it couldn't the processor issue. I then look for another rom and tried flashing it. This time I had issue with it failing at system.img even if I use recent rom that worked. I then keep trying till flashing TWRP worked and flashing the rest of the rom is fine again.
What bothers me is why doesn't it crash during the first couple of hours. I've search similar issues and they say it may have been and app issue. I've already disabled bunch of app but nothing changed. Run the phone in safe mode but this time instead of crashing and rebooting right away it freezes for a few seconds. I suspect if google play or something being an issue since I've tried disabling it and it didn't crash for a couple of hours. Looked for allot of related thread but none of them seam to solve my problem.
I suspect either its the rom that I'm using and it can only be fixed by using the original rom, or its having a memory issue but don't know how to pin point it. Anyone can suggest on how I can debug this? I'm used to debugging things in real time and my knowledge with android is a quite slim but as a programming understanding the errors won't be a problem. I hope.
Edit: Hmm. Does copying kernel log with TWRP work or the kernel logs get overwritten every time the phone reboots? Because I see the kernet logs but don't see anything failing except for something saying SHUTDOWN but I don't think thats it. :S
Still no reply. :S I think its /system dismounting it self while doing a write operation. but it doesn't trigger until a certain amount of time after the phone is flashed or factory reset. I have to go to recovery and mount system back but that only happens on marshmallow. over version it remounts it self after the random reboot. After factory reset I'm able to install COD mobile and play a couple of match. after a long while it just decides to reboot.
I also tried z3x and after reading PIT from phone OK. the phone just reboots and flashing completes without it doing any flashing.
