[Q] Lg P500 - Cyanogenmod 6.5.1 WiFi-Problem - General Questions and Answers

Hello guys,
i'm not completly new to this forum. i've tried many roms, still searching for the perfekt
so i decided to register, because i will help reporting bugs, etc.
the problem is, i can't post in the developer-section.
I installed the cyanogen mod v6.5.1 for the lg p500. I tried the "stable" version (v6.3) but it didnt worked well. 6.5.1 works well, but my wifi get no good signal. with the stock-rom, or others like void, optimusxrom or openoptimus, there was no problem. and if i move closer (My room is on the ground floor and the router 2 floors up) to the router it works. now i plugged in the p500 and bufff....it get a signal. is there any way that i can set the signal-strength higher?
(sry, for my english, its long time ago that i had it in school )

[Q] TMob G2 w/Google + ROMs = shattered dreams

Ok, so I just got this phone on the 2nd and have been extensively looking around for stable ROMs. I've found two ROMs I particularly love, SuperVillain and SparkMods HotSauce, I also rather enjoyed GingerVillain. But all of these seem to have some serious drawbacks with the G2, or maybe just the T-Mobile network, I have no idea. But with SuperVillain, my bluetooth won't work correctly. GingerVillain breaks my WiFi (won't stay toggled on longer than five seconds), and I've yet to accomplish getting the android market app onto HotSauce. And across the board of all the nonstock ROMs, picture messaging absolutely will not work.
So my question is, is there a stable ROM with full support for this phone or do I have to be stuck running this beautiful device at 800mhz?

[Q] Black border with some roms.

Heya,
This is my first post. These forums have been Extremely helpful to me. My 1st smart phone was a Iphone 3g 1 year ago. I got a 3gs 6 months after that and decided that android was the way to go 6 months after that. Ive learned to root and flash new roms. I have tried Miui, Kingdom, Leedroid, Stock-Optimized, CM7 stable and nightly, and coredroid.
I VERY much want to use MIUI but it along with CM7 make all my mp4 videos have a large black border around them. Core droid doesnt (it automatically makes it fullscreen and has a fot to screen button) but I cant get mobile hotspot too work. I cant get kingdom to work at all (maybe its not ext4 compatible?) Leedroid is what im using now (has a fit to screen button) but I really wish I can use Miui instead. Maybe I like it so much sense I am a old Iphone user.
I have googled this issue to death. I have searched these forums and the Miui forums. I tried different converters also but they take 30-60 mins to convert instead of WINAVI's 3-5 mins. I dont know if I am using the rom wrong or doing something else stupid or what.
I work 80hrs a week and use my phone for watching movies 90% of the time. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

[Q] Poor wifi signal

Yesterday I decided to try out the latest android released for our adorable sensations
The problem appeared not unexpectably at all: it wasn't new for me that cm roms have low sensitivity of wifi. Some time ago I found a rom page which discribed how to deal with it, but, unfortunately, I cannot find it again. The wifi radio worked excellent with all Viper roms. Any ideas?
Right now my phone is running albinoman's 4.4.2

Progress/advice on "stable" custom ROM in the year of 2014 ?

Hi there,
over the time I lost track of custom ROMs for the p920 and just landed back on xda these days, because I finally decided to try a custom ROM on my p920. Also because the autofocus on p920 isnt that good with 4.0.4 and bluetooth has its problems with OBDII vehicle diagnostic adapters.
1st problem I might face, could be using Windows 8.1 Pro x64, right ? (Dont I need Win 7 to be on the safe side while flashing?)
Right now I use the Stock LG ICS ROM 4.0, (v30a) which I flashed right after its release. Since then I never flashed a smartphone again, but I still understand about Clockwork and most flashing tutorials. Still I sadly dont have time to flash through all the ROMs. Thats why I came here.
Dont get me wrong, stock Android 4.0.4 runs well (except for the bluetooth problem for example), but I was hoping for minimal speed improvements and less lag on the homesscreen sometimes, or less lag in games (now and then). I dont care for HDMI or 3D anymore and I know it is not working on custom ROMs on the p920.
I read about ACiD Audio Engine, I read about FM Radio Mods to reanable the FM Radio option, I read about PACMAN ROM by Bernie, I read about RootBox ROM.
I remember that some ROMs did not really offer better performance or less lag or large speed improvements back then.
I read about CPU overclocking on the p920. I read so much, that Im no longer sure where to start. :silly:
Time has passed, Im not sure what changed. I only recently tried the CyanogenMod Installer, which only told me that my device is not compatible. :/ (I know there are nightlies of CM10 though)
Could someone (with a modded p920) please re-direct me to a ROM of his choice, that he is proud of having it installed ?
I dont need CPU overclocking, or any nerdie-special features Im just looking for a mod that can phone, do bluetooth correctly, plays mp3s and can take photos. (and playing games now and then) Still, Id hope to go somewhere into the direction of Android 4.2.2 and I 1st stumbled across CM10 niglthy, PACMAN and RootBox.
I read here that members like JunDavis even try to flash CM11 to our p920. I also try to understand that my phone is "old" and not much can be done about it anyway.
If there should be another ROM you would recommend, or if someone wants to tell me that it is not really worth it (anymore), or if I have missed any other opportunity, except for buying a new phone, feel free to fire away.
And keep in mind Im on Windows 8.1 Pro x64 :S
Thanks for reading and I hope for a reply

[Q] [ROM] CyanogenMod 11 with 3.0.16 kernel - Network connectivity

Hi
I have successfully flashed the ROM from sultan on my device. I started off with the 1st of July build and could practically watch my battery drain on it.
Since I updated to the 25th of July build this seems to be solved and the ROM makes a very good impression, except that I'm having a hard time getting connection to my carrier. I was able to do one call after rebooting the device and after that it dropped off again. Even if I manage to keep it connected for a few minutes, mobile networking never works. On the other and wireless works like a charm.
As i have read through most of the related forums and somehow nobody else seems to have this problem, I'm wondering if I might have done something wrong during the upgrade process? I skipped wiping anything, as that should not be necessary when updating from same ROM.
Anyone had a similar problem? Any ideas?
Cheers,
Espen
I've had this issue too. It seems It only affects Kit Kat builds based on AOSP (Carbon / Uno / CM etc). Mind you we don't have sense one to test do we, so it could be all 4.4 roms. Don't know why. I can't figure it out.
Are you super CID by any chance? Or do you know if you CID matches your current carrier?
