Who has disabled screen rotation?

This tablet lends itself so well to landscape mode that I have chosen to disabled auto-rotation. It gets annoying when I'm laying in bed making sweet love to my Xoom and the screen flips 90* on me.
I actually disable it on all my devices. That being this said, this is the first one i disabled into landscape mode.
Same here.
I have disabled it also. It is annoying when laying in bed and I turn to my side the screen will automatically rotates. Any games like Air Attack HD that are designed for the tablet to be vertical; it will automatically rotate the screen anyways. The only reason I could think of the use for vertical layout is for typing with your thumbs only.
I would strongly recommend buying Thumb Keyboard from the market. It is only 1.32 Euros and $1.87 US. It is so nice to type with my thumbs while holding the tablet landscape. I can type so fast when surfing the internet. It cuts the keyboard in half and moves the keys to the sides and has a 10 key number pad in the middle. Select 10 inch tablet mode in settings. Try it out. You have 15 minutes to test drive it and if you don't like it, uninstall it and get a full refund.
I leave it enabled on all my devices.
If you got it use it, that's how I see it.

I bought thumb keyboard but then I bought SlideIT (I have Swype on my droid).
I use an app call "Tablet Keyboard" same price range. They also have a free version, which is only a few keys that is removed from the paid version. Similar to the thumb keyboard. And boy is it a joy typing and not having ti be all over the place. I still use the full keyboard style when typing longer like an email or word document on my Xoom.

I tried the Tablet Keyboard and did not see an option for suggested words while typing where Thumb Keyboard does. Is this a feature I am missing or maybe in a paid version? I am pretty happy with Thumb Keyboard but always looking for something better.

G2x = PC Replacement

Hey everyone. I just wanted to follow up with the several questions about using your G2x phone as a PC. Pretty simple really. Here are the required items (obviously)
Code:
G2x!
CM7 (tested on #70 but most should work)
Bluetooth Keyboard
Bluetooth Mouse
Micro HDMI Cable
Root Explorer
I am using a Microsoft Bluetooth Notebook Mouse 5000 v1.0 and a Mini Bluetooth Keyboard I bought off ebay for $7.
Go into [Settings>Wireless Settings>Bluetooth Settings] Turn on Bluetooth and Pair your devices according to their instructions. My Mouse paired using the passkey "0000" and my keyboard gave me fits and forced me to read the directions. It required you type in a passcode into Bluetooth Settings popup box, THEN enter the SAME password on the KEYBOARD + ENTER.
Anyway, after you pair up, both devices will say "Paired, but not connected". So tap on each one until they both connect. You should get a MOUSE CURSOR once the mouse connects.
Mouse Controls:
Left Click = Normal Select
Right Click = Back (Handy!)
Wheel Click = Menu (Genius)
Scroll Wheel = Scroll
You can also click and drag using the mouse.
The keyboard works as a normal keyboard. Mine has all kinds of FN key functions. Mine also lacks dedicated arrow buttons so I have to press FN+ to get to my Arrow Keys which these scroll in the OS.
At this point you could plug the phone into a HDMI Television or Monitor and use the mouse and keyboard to navigate around. Everything is kinda HUGE but works.
To fix the HUGE problem we need to edit the [u]/system/build.prop[/u] file and adjust the screen density. So use Root Explorer and go to "system" and tap on the "Mount R/W" button at the top. This enables Read/Write so we can save our changes. Next press and hold on the "build.prop" file and select "Open in Text Editor" from the pop up window.
Now viewing the contents of "build.prop" lets be very careful we don't change anything accept what we need. This could cause problems forcing you to reload the OS.
Scroll down several lines until you see [b]ro.sf.lcd_density=240[/b]. This is the only thing we want to change. Set this according to your preferences. "180" seems good. Others use "190".
Make your changes and hit the back button. Select the option to SAVE and exit. Now restart your phone.
Now everything appears smaller. Sync up your devices and have yourself an instant PC!
[UPDATE]
After a while the mouse really feels good. I can really scoot around with this setup. The G2x powerhouse keeps on chugging too. Also the stock apps don't really show off the larger screen. Probably need some tablet aware apps.
This is pretty cool but would you mind posting some pics of your setup. Id like to see what it looks like using the phone on a monitor.
Ha it looks like CM7 in landscape mode and bigger. 240 is too cramped this mode. Changing the density is a big help.
I don't have a decent camera other my phone but I have a camcorder that I could make a video to upload.
The mouse and keyboard work really well. I just need some better apps to show it off but this is mostly just a test for others since I had the Bluetooth equipment.
It would be perfect if you could change the density on the fly without a reboot or an app that would do it automatically when it detects the HDMI cable.

hey everyone. i got this to work this weekend as well. I used a logitech IPAD bt keyboard and an apple magic mouse. also paired with the apple bt keyboard in the store but they were out so i didnt grab one. for lcd density i just use the lcd density changer app in the market. works for me. I would not reccomend the apple magic mouse. while it is super smooth and great at navigating, there is no wheel so you loose out on the option to bring up the menu. having to reach and touch the menu button on the phone is a drag. also, the logitech keyboard was mapped for ipad. had the square ipad menu button, but that didnt work to bring me to my home screen or bring up my menu. so definitely if you are doing this make sure the keyboard you choose has buttons mapped to specific functions, i.e. "home" dont want to be in a browser and have to click back 30 times to get to your home screen. just my two sense. as far as HDMI out, my display's margins were cut off a bit which was kinda annoying. and everything looked a bit pixelated even with the LCD density switch although after the switch you will find much more home screen real estate which is bomb. well, let me know your thoughts on the hdmi margin cut. would love to get it super clear.

[Q] Screen Redraws w/ Keyboard

Hi so I know that if we use an app that takes a lot of memory right before going to the home screen, it redraws (for alt. launchers mostly). ive fixed THAT problem but I have a phone that has a portrait qwerty slider and even though it doesnt need to change orientation, the homescreen redraws and so it takes a good 10 secs until its ready any way to fix this?

Dock + USB mouse performance

Has any of you noticed more lags while using the Infinity in "laptop" mode = dock + USB mouse? I'm currently using it with Logitech Anywhere MX wireless mouse which comes with nano USB receiver and I've experienced significant lags which cease to exist the second I stop using the mouse and start using the touchscreen. When using mouse, everything seems less responsive - the menus, home screen, browsers (Chrome less than Dolphin) or even moving the icons.
I have tried Microsoft Touch mouse too (same type of connection) and it gives me very similar results.
I see no errors logged.
Edit: I think it's even similar when using touchpad. Try holding an icon from the home screen and move it quite fast around the screen, see what happens.
yes, i see the same in my tf300t. its a big lag, my pdfs wont render completely when docked

Well this is disheartening....wish I had read this earlier, I would've tested it on the Prime while I was at Best Buy earlier today. When I played with it before, I thought that the dock worked well. I didn't get to really play with it...but I thought it worked well for what I did. I'll take a look at it when I get my tablet (and dock)

Same setup, same problem. Didn't noticed till now
Just I used to swype back above keyboard
I'm using Gboard and it does the same thing. I've never tried swiping over the keyboard until now. I don't think it's a bug. I think that's how is meant to be. Otherwise you might be closing your keyboard when your swiping a text message.
SwiftKey user w/o NovaLauncher l - no issues whatsoever
I ve got one plus 8 pro as my previous device amd there swipe back is working over the keyboard.
Closing keyboard each time i need to go back require one additional move, and swipe back above keyboard is not pretty good solution, since i cant do it by thumb, keeping device in one hand, keyboard is occuping almost half of the screen...
I do have the same problem. (using Nova with Gboard), whenever i swipe from right or left, it types a letter.. So i use keyboard hiding toggle in the Navigation bar area, when the keyboard is active.
