Hi so I know that if we use an app that takes a lot of memory right before going to the home screen, it redraws (for alt. launchers mostly). ive fixed THAT problem but I have a phone that has a portrait qwerty slider and even though it doesnt need to change orientation, the homescreen redraws and so it takes a good 10 secs until its ready any way to fix this?

Hi,
I was wondering if anyone has noticed this 'bug' with the keyboard backlight staying On, even in the 'closed' position?
I noticed it when looking at my touch pro side-on in dim light, and finally figured out how to replicate.
It basically seems to happen if you open/close the keyboard a few times without waiting for the 'lag' in the screen to catch up and change from landscape to portrait. The keyboard light will remain on even after being slid closed, and even after the machine is put into sleep mode!
It is sometimes fixed by opening the keyboard, letting the screen 'catch up', and then closing it again. But sometimes, this does not work. You have to open the keyboard, hit a key to make the machine realize that the keyboard is open, and then close it again.
I'm running the Australian 1.94 original ROM, and I noticed this both before and after using the SlideWakeup tweak for the keyboard.
This is driving me crazy, I cant figure out have to make the keyboard not take up the full screen. Anyoneknow?
what do you mean?? the whole screen is covered by the swype keboard when you put the phone in landscape or most of the screen is covered?
The keyboard takes up half the screen and the imput box takes up the other half. I want it like WinMo. Where it lets you type but the imput box doesn't zoom in
Well as far as I know the swype keyboard automatically takes up the whole screen while in landscape. Well mine does and it can be seen in youtube videos as well. I don't think there is a fix for this unless you want to contact the devs for swype.
Resurrecting an old thread, but I thought I'd mention that the rom Slimbean (3.0.0) (http://www.slimroms.net) has a toggle to disable full screen landscape keyboard. This fixes this issue for all keyboards, including SwiftKey & Swype.
Running ICS 4.04.
So, I want to know What Exactly is a Lock screen and the difference and the Home screen.
Why and how would you have 1 Screen.
And why are there 5 different screens? how do i make it to have 3 or 4?
Is Go Launcher a app which replaces the Home screen or the lock screen? ? if so how much RAM does it take?
Thank You
A lock screen is the first screen that comes up when you wake up your device, its to help prevent unwanted usage of or device such as pocket dialing. A home screen is where you will have all your apps and widgets. If you have an app such as go launcher or nova launcher, it will replace your stock home screen and allow you to choose different setups. Such as number of home screened or how many icons per screen. I believe they use very little system resources, no more than your stock launcher. Go launcher also has a ton of themes to make look completely different.

To answer unanswered qsns, u can just do a pinch in gesture get an outlook of all the home screens, long press on the one u wanna remove and it will show how to remove. And there are heavy launchers which take a lot of RAM. I don't think go takes a lot. May be around 30-40 mb. (not sure). If u have any lags, then try some other light weight launchers.! And go launcher is a launcher (of course, name says it all), there is go locker associated with go launcher for lockscreen.
Sent from the zombie world. No they aren't coming yet!

Thank You both!! For helping me!
One last question,
Would it be possible to put a lock screen which wakes up, by touching the screen e.g 2-3 presses/tap on the screen or the volume button? rather than the orignal power button?
thank You

If the screen was actively on, touch sensors waiting, it would drain battery.
The volume keys can be configured to turn the phone on with some custom ROMs I believe like cyanogen

Anyone able to find a way to enable auto-landscape while the phone is in the home screen or lock screen? Every once and awhile when I awaken my phone, it shows the time widget and lock pattern in landscape but then blinks back to portrait real quick. Also happens every once and awhile on the home screen when I switch out of Chrome or Textra.
I know I could use Nova or something to enable to the auto landscape for the home screen. Is there a way to do it with just the stock software? Also how about with the lockscreen as well?

I was about to say, your best bet to do landscape is with a third party launcher. Is it really that big of a deal to view things in landscape? Its sort of un-comforting to hold this phone on landscape unless I use it to snap pictures. xD

I've got pretty big hands so it's not too bad for me. Plus it's nice like when I'm laying down, landscape is more natural for me. I guess I will switch back to nova launcher, but any ideas for the lock screen?
Only way I have seen the lock screen rotate was when in MHL mode and it forces it into that aspect.
hey guys, i noticed today that if i rotate the phone to landscape mode on the home screen and then press the recent apps button two times very fast the phone response is a bit slow to interact, and when it really interact the hall home screen become a bit transparent....looks like a glitch, i think the phone needs an update to solve these small issues and ram management...
