if you want this bootanimation i can't upload it to xda because i havent posted 8 post yet... but i am posting the link on here. the boot animation is very big so after setting it as your boot animation your splash screen will probably stay up there longer because its over 60mbs.

Can anyone post a tutorial for making your own boot animation for the Nexus, or is it the same as the g1? I want to try and break down some animated gifs and make a boot animation from it.

can you look at this please and see why it wont work..
Process is totally different to the g1 as the boot animation resides in a different place and is actually a collection ofpng images.
I haven't been able to get it working either i have tried rezipping the files after editing. Tried dropping the images into a zip without unzipping. Alwaysr results in a black screen. Maybe one of the guys who have got it going can help?
its not different for a g1 using a 2.1 rom.
problem is you have a folder called bootanimation within the zip, it should just be bootanimation.zip with part0, part1 and desc.txt
and the images are compressed within the zip, the zip should be set to store only

Hey all, I've got a pretty awesome boot animation that I'd like to share. It is NOT my boot animation, I did NOT create it, I take NO credit for resizing it. It is a boot animation I found for the Atrix 4G, and, since the A2 and A4G have the same resolution, it fits perfectly on our larger screen.
Here's a video of it on a tablet:
Download: View attachment bootanimation.zip
To install just move it to /system/media and reboot.

Hi, I first made a backup of the original bootanimation and then replaced it with this one bue I can't see it, all I get is the word "android" with some animations, what could be happening?

Yeah no problem usually putting everything in the part 0 folder works for me unless there's a specific part that need to loop lol

if ur using """"boot animation root""" app...it will also work on any gif..just remember to scale down to our screen size..
im searching google for better gifs.. you can also search on google.com/images ..
thus it makes no worries about making zips and photos..

I saw a boot animation over in the m7 thread and decided to make one for the m9. It was requested that I make one for the M8. Please note that it will always say SD card is not inserted because the particular person I made this for doesn't use one. If there is a calling for me to change it, it is something I'd consider. Use it as you please. Flash from recovery. I'm not responsible, for anything. Ever.
