[Q] Cursor speed - Eee Pad Transformer Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Has anyone worked out how to adjust the cursor speed when you have a mouse attached? it's fast when using the touchpad but slower when using a mouse

Just move your finger more slowly
Sorry, couldn't resist

Or alternatively, apply oil to your desk under the mouse, and watch that sucker zip across it and onto the floor in no time! Im sure the cursor will move nicely then.

It is the capacitive sensors, and normal.

Thanks for that info. So seeing that sensor means it's a cheap screen? kinda sucks cause I'm going to be using this thing outside a lot. Does anyone know if the asus transformer shows that grid ??
Nope, doesn't mean that it is necessarily cheap, and you get used to it.

[Q] Keyboard no pinch zoom?

I have the latest dock firmware but there is no pinch zoom in any apps, is this normal?
Sent from my Transformer TF101
I've tried the same, it seems all single point does is move the mouse point, and two points you can scroll up and down/side to side. Any more then 2 doesn't seem to do anything. I'm hoping more gestures gets added down the line, but I guess its not too hard to reach up and hit the screen either.
currently the touchpad has limited MT support.
The only multitouch is two fingers in any direction scrolls. nothing else works.
So yes it is normal what your experiencing. Unfortunately for the time being, and possibly forever since asus hasn't commented, you'll always have to use the screen to zoom.
I found that in a browser, double tapping the touchpad zooms in and double tapping a second time zooms out. Just shows that they might be able to unlock more possibilities in the future... Maybe...

Yes, it's back, but using removes the gesture actions that the circle cursor has. Why couldn't they just change the skin without screwing up functionality? Personally, I'm sticking with the circle pointer, but a nice little dot in the center of that circle would be awesome for precision clicks - like when using an RDP client.
I am on prime 1.84 and would like to know how to get the mouse pointer back?

Android……TF101……copy paste hotkey

Ive know that we can copy paste with a long pressing on the screen
but its not so convenient
are their any hot key on the keyboard……that would help a lot
if not……may any professional genius guy make it come true?
Control+c, control+x, and control+v on the dock work as might be expected. Most of the time controo+a does as well but sometimes I have to hit it like 3 times.

truely have found that
now……another problem
how to select by using mouse with "leftclicking + moving"
Honeycomb+ and some apps (Opera Mobile) have very good selection, tap/hold or click/hold a word to select it. Using your fingers to tap/hold or the touch pad to click/hold on the blue bars, will allow you to adjust the selection. This is a lot more flexible than the model used by Windows and X11, and much closer to how Vim and Emacs does it.
Personally I find the touch pad great for adjusting the selection, even if I usually use the finger. In the TF101 (and probably Android in general), using a mouse is just a virtual finger, it should work the same way as your finger. The touch pad becomes much like touching the screen in a way.
Just play around with your device and see what does what. Software wise it's hard to break unless you are flashing something.

Fingerprint Scanner Tips

I found some info on another site that helps with the fingerprint sensor:
It seems like the key is to press relatively hard when swiping your finger. I've tried that a number of times now, and it seems to be working much better. I'm even able to get one handed unlock with the fingerprint sensor.
Hope this helps.
Sideways thumb swipe: rotate thumb to maximize print area while swiping during record and read.
Works fine.

You are welcome. Anything help do you want ?
What I did was use the 3 allotted different fingerprints and scan my thumb at slightly different angles so I could swipe my thumb horizontally rather than vertically and it works a lot better now.
I feel clever ...unless this was already mentioned

The following was in another thread, so thought I would copy it here for posterity:

So I was playing around with the fingerprint scanner and wanted to add more then 3 fingerprints. When I was setting up my thumb, I also swiped my pointer finger. After the set up was complete. I found it let me unlock the phone with both fingers from the one setup. I haven't seen this mentioned yet, so I figured someone out there might find it useful.

Confirmed that it worked on my device. I was able to register right thumb, left thumb and left index finger on just one setting.
