Basics..please guide me to right place. - General Topics

I am just getting into all the technology that is out, most notably android. I understand the idea of it all, i just need to know where to start. Right now i got a motorola spice xt300, i know its not a top shelf phone but is there anything to get me started with modding, hacking, rooting, etc? Any advice would be helpful and greatly appreciated.

Rooted but now what?

Hey guys
I am fairly new to the whole Android thing and would perhaps like a little advise. My new Motorola Atrix is rooted now and there is a little icon on the menu titled superuser but now what? What can I do and what should I do?
Sorry to ask questions which may been random but I just wanted the experts to point me in the right direction.
Thanks
Scott

And now you are going to get addicted to flashing ROM's, themes, widgets etc.
But first you need to read, alot, about your phone and what can be done to it via flashing.
I am not familiar with your phone, but plan on doing alot of searching and reading.
In the end you will be happyily addiccted.
That's brilliant thanks for the reply, I am normally into iPhones etc however my network gave me a free upgrade handset without making me resign a contract and I was interested to see what I can do etc

[Q] HELP!

Hi guys.
I'm very new to Android and i found out you can root your phone. My phone is a Samsung Galaxy S2 GT-19100T. It is running Android 4.0.3.
I tried to look @ the videos on how to root but they're too confusing for me. I don't know how to do this stuff because im not a computer expert. There are rooting videosbut they are mostly for ameican phones and ones that run Android 2.3.6 gingerbread. Please help me by showing how to root my phone. Please make it easy to understand!
Note: I live in Australia and i am using the Vodafone network.
Safely rooting a device and safely USING a rooted device takes a certain amount of tech savvy that the average smartphone buyer does not possess. I'm not saying you don't, but just wanted to throw that out there before you get in over your head.
What is the reason you want to root your SGS2? If it's simply because it's the "cool" thing to do, then I highly suggest you don't.
To put it bluntly, the common wisdom is that if you're not tech savvy enough to follow a simple rooting guide, then you probably have no business having root access on your device. Hope that doesn't come across as rude....just trying to provide some guidance to a self-described novice.

[Q] Help please!! =S

Hello. I'm sorry if I'm posting this in the wrong place, but I was unsure of where to put this. I actually have a Motorola XT860 that I just bought off of someone. They didn't tell me it has this Cyanogenmod 9 on it, & I don't like it, I just want the phone to have whatever OS it normally would on it. I don't know the first thing about this stuff & I'm a little upset that I didn't look at the phone more before I got it, but that's my own fault. Can anyone give me some guidance here? I haven't been able to find anything helpful by Googling it, everything I can find is for other devices. Please advise.
You are in the wrong forum. This is for the Razr HD. Maybe u were looking for the forums for the original Razr?

Find a local cell phone shop in your town. Most of them advertise unlocking and jailbreaking phones. Bet one of the guys there could help. Web based support for the unrooting of a Moto phone is a risky proposition given your apparent newness to this arena.
... Or call the guy back you bought it off of and give him a $20 to do it.

[Q] Droid Mini XT1030 4.4.4

I would like to root this phone to start out with. But I am not too experienced with this although I did have my fun rooting and installing custom ROMS on the A855 back in the day. (like its such an ancient phone by now, it was so much simpler then) Can anyone instruct me on the newest rooting methods for this particular phone in a thorough step by step detailed manner in layman's terms please? with this said I am not computer illiterate and consider myself to be fairly keen with technology this is just an area I have yet to become experienced in. Will anyone help me?

Help I'm brick won't turn back on

I don't know any other way

I'm trying to find any developers currently working on rooting the c6740n. I'm willing to test out any ideas or theories they have come up with but might lack the phone to do so with. I'm beyond the point of caring about this phone please help us. I could care less if we brick it at least I'd get a new phone out of it. Thanks in advance
