How can I get into CWR without Rom Manager? - Thunderbolt General

I tried flashing chingy's gingervitis but its got all sorts of problems for me.
Can someone tell me how to get into CWR without Rom manager so I can flash my backup? I can't download it from the market because opening the market freezes and reboots my phone.

Turn phone off > Hold vol - (first) then hold the pwr button

Plug into pc...adb reboot recovery

If you want to restore a CW backup choose the "recovery" option.
Sometimes it will start scanning the P05IMG.zip file if you have one on the SD so take it off with a card reader so HBOOT doesn't scan the file, unless you want to just restore one of the RUU's then you can leave it there and install it from HBOOT.

Can't Get Into CWM After Update?

Well I updated my CWM to the latest .5 or something because it was supposed to fix the charging while off problem, unfortunately now I can't get into CWM manually at all.
I used to be able to pull the battery, plug phone in, put battery back and turn on and it would load CWM. Now it just begins charging and then boots normally when I hold the power button.
Any help?
Heres what i do:
1. Shutdown the phone
2. Once its off, press and hold the volume down, then press and hold the powerbutton.
3. once in the bootloader, use you volume down button to select the recovery option, to click it press the power button and it should be on CWM recovery.
OR
1. Download ROM manager from the Android Market
2. Once installed, Click on "Reboot to recovery" or something similar.

Not able to use Recovery mode!!! please help!

so whenever i boot into recovery mode using power+ volume up it goes to the hboot screen but when i try to scroll using the up and down volume key, nothing happens, then a few seconds later it tries to search for the pd.img file (forget exactly what it is) then ask me to update it, so i did this hoping that next time i go into recovery mode i can install my custon rom, but this just restored my phone, luckily i made a backup before and now my phone is back to being rooted, but i still cant use recovery mode! also when i try through rom manager i just get a black screen, i used http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=961406 to root my phone.
Recovery is power + volume down, boot loader is power + volume up...
I'm assuming ROM Manager shows that ClockWorkMod is installed?

Hhhhmm, strange, it does not work using power+ volume down (still the up/down keys do mothing) but when booting into reovery through rom manager worked! so thanks!
Power + vol up does nothing power + vol down takes you to hboot. The problem your having is coming from not deleting the pd98img before going into hboot.

A couple other options. Download quickboot from the market. The app has options for reboot, recovery, bootloader and power off. Also Rom manager has the option to boot into recovery.
And... Make sure fastboot is not enabled.

Automatically jumping into Recovery

I turn off my phone and hold down the volume button along side the power button. It will automatically go into Hboot and take me to this page. I just want to add another ROM I have in the root folder.
Power => Reflash
Vol - DN => DIAG

Have you deleted the img file from the root of the SD card yet? You need to get that off before going into recovery. I assume you have CWR (clockwork recovery) installed.
Also, try plugging in your phone to your computre and type adb reboot recovery.
I removed the file and the same issue.
Prior to getting to that reflash and diag page it briefly shows another page that sounds update in progress, jumping to diag
Alright, problem has been resolved. I ended up deleting the wrong file. Should have double checked!

[Q] HTC Wildfire S keeps restarting

I upgraded my ROM from 1.3x to 2.1x using goldcard. After i ran the RUU, it said that the phone update went successful and now the phone just keeps turning on and off without even letting me go to hboot. Please help??
if u have nandroid back up just try to restore, if u dont re flash your rom just make sure that you wipe sytem, wipe cache and try to restore factory settings on the recovery menu just to make sure.
how can i wipe the cache and files, my phone does not even start up the hboot, pc could not even detect my phone. please help.
access recovery menu by pressing volume up + home button + power on at the same time hold it until your phone boots up, then release power button when the phone power up but keep pressing volume up + home button until it reaches recovery menu if it still doesn't work tell me we still have ways for that.

Just confused, pressing "home button" included? also afaik its volume down+Power button.
Also, is recovery menu available even if you havent install CWM? i know its needs debugging to install CWM.

sorry "tol" kinda sleepy when i posted this, your right its volume down+Power, if the phone is already rooted there is a recovery menu already but not CWM, but you can install CWM using ODIN just find a CWM tar.md5 file so you can install this using odin.
its not working. i cannot get to recovery by pressing volume key + power key. any other way to do that?
Maybe your phone already bricked. Jtag will help you to resurrect your phone.

[Q] help! phone stuck at htc one white boot screen.

I was running an older version of fluent rom and decided to upgrade to 7.5. i downloaded it and checked the md5 sum and everything matched up. put it on my sd card and went into twrp. wiped everything and tried to flash and it failed. i tried once more and it failed and restarted. now im stuck at the white htc boot screen that says " this build is for development purposes only etc" in red.
I can hold vol up+ power and restart the phone but then im at the same screen.
ive also tired holding vol up+ power to restart and then vol down+ power to go to HBOOT but once im in hboot and let go of vol up+power its like it instantly selects something and it asks me if i want to update.
Parsing... [sd zip]
reset htc debug flag...
[1]adsp
[2]rpm
[3]sensor hub
[4]wcnss
apply update or not.
select yes it says ok next to 1-4. and then says press power to restart
if i say no it just says press power to restart.
im stuck and dont know what to do :[ any help would b greatly appreciated...
Did you ever flash firmware or some such thing by putting the file on your sdcard and then renaming it to 0P6BIMG.zip? Sounds like you have a file like that on your sdcard. Remove the sdcard and then boot to hboot. If you need the sdcard for a rom, you can mount the sdcard on a PC and delete the file from there. Then replace it in the phone and boot. If that's not an option, perhaps you can remove the card, boot to recovery and then put the card in and mount it in TWRP. Not sure about that but that's what I'd try. If it mounts, you should be able to delete the file from within TWRP.
There is hboot.zip on your ext sd card. That is why whenever you go to hboot,it ask to update. So power off the phone.Take out the sd card. Then boot up & go to hboot & select recovery. The flash the rom.But first check your current firmware verison.I think it is the problem to bootloop. If so update it from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2723159
