[THEME] Half'n'Half Theme for BravoX ROM - Bravo Themes and Apps

Half black, half white status bar. A combination of custom icons and notification bar/backgrounds.
There are 3 versions:
1. Half 'n' Half combined with my Droid X 2.3.3 theme
2. Half 'n' Half combined with my Stock Gingerbread theme
3. Half 'n' Half with BravoX Froyo (MotoBLUR froyo)
All versions will only work (as far as I know) with BravoX ROM by BandroidX.
I have only tested it on BravoX RC2 so I can't guarantee any results, anything you do to damage your phone is not my responsibility.
This modifies the framework-res.apk and services.jar
It modifies more than just the status bar. (Let me know if you guys want just a status bar mod)
What it changes (Half 'n' Half combined with theme):
Status Bar & icons
Popup menus
Buttons
Drop down menus
"loading" spinners
plus other things
What it changes (Half 'n' Half with BravoX Froyo):
Just the status bar
Requirements:
Root
BandroidX's bootstrap recovery and/or have ADB set up with knowledge
A way to get you phone back from a brick (e.g. SBF, nandroid restore)
To apply:
(With bootstrap recovery)
Download the flashable zip from below to your sdcard
Boot into CWM recovery through BandroidX's recovery app
Make a nandroid backup (not necessary but I highly recommend)
Select install zip from sdcard
Select choose zip from sdcard
Select the .zip you put on your sdcard
select yes to confirm
wait for installation to finish (a few seconds)
Reboot (will take a while because of the modded services.jar, so BE PATIENT!) Pull Battery and boot up again if boot takes longer than 5 minutes
Enjoy your theme!
(With ADB)
Download a .zip from below to you computer
Extract the services.jar and framework-res.apk to where your ADB directory is
Plug your phone in with phone portal and ADB debugging enabled (settings>applications>development)
Open up your command prompt
Type these commands (after each, press enter):
Code:
cd [directory of adb and .jar and .apk]
adb remount
adb push framework-res.apk /system/framework/framework-res.apk
adb push services.jar /system/framework/services.jar
adb reboot
(reboot will take awhile because you are modding the services.jar, so BE PATIENT!) Pull Battery and boot up again if boot takes longer than 5 minutes
Things needed in upcoming updates:
Change some white font to black for easier reading (such as pull down menus)
If there is anything else, let me know
Changelog:
1.0
Initial release
Thanks to:
BandroidX for the awesome theme and bootstrap
Daneshm90 for the .zip creator http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=717437
EXTRA- if you want Gingerbread Market notifications and Gmail notifications follow these steps:
Note: you don't need my status bar mod, it will work on any phone (I think).
Download zip below
put on sdcard
uninstall market and gmail
rename the vending.apk and gmail.apk (located in system/app/) to vending.bak and gmail.bak
boot into CWM recovery
Wipe Cache
Select install from zip from sdcard
select choose zip from sdcard
select gingerbread_icons_market_and_gmail.zip
install
Screenshots (for others, go to my other themes- Droid X 2.3.3 and Stock Gingerbread):

Good work. As far as I have noticed. Almost all of your themes work with stock roms.

i like 'em a lot!

Good job) Thx

[Q] Please clear me up :)

I have a defy with 2.51 from Red Bull in Austria.
I want to install CM7
what i have done so far:
rooted
recovery installed
nandroid backup done
what i want to know:
If i need to send it in for repair, is everything i need to do to flash back the nandroid? or is this not possible because of the lost of downgradability on 2.51?
it would be nice form you to tell me this things
If you have a nandroid of your system, and a fixed SBF of your 2.51, all you need to do to send it to warranty is restore your nandroid then flash the fixed SBF.

if you don't flash the full SBF, your downgrade-ablility is fine.
here the safe step to install CM7 to keep your downgrade-ability:
FROM ECLAIR
1. get root, install recovery app, reboot
2. place nandroid backup of 3.4.2-177 to your sdcard
3. turn off usb debuging, go to your custom recovery app: tap install recovery (allow root access when needed), tap reboot recovery
4. from custom recovery, wipe data, then wipe cache
5. then restore nandroid
6. choose reboot system now, BUT IMMEDIATELY go to bootloader (press and hold vol.up immeditely after phone reboot)
7. defy is in bootloader state, connect usb (make sure your computer has usb driver installed), open RSD-Lite 4.9 to flash the Fixed SBF of 3.4.2-177
8. let the process begins and wait untill phone fully starts.
now you in Froyo 2.2.2 (build number 3.4.2-177) state, with still have a downgrade-ability.
9. place CM7 beta5 zip and google app zip to sdcard root
10. make sure that nandroid backup rom you just restored is rooted (there is superuser app on there),
and UNINSTALL any custom recovery app you can found (usualy named SD recovery, System Recovery, etc)
11. install bootmenu instead (there's a custom recovery inside that bootmenu)
-download this file (bootmenu), create folder named "bootmenu", and extract zip files into that folder.
-copy "bootmenu" folder to your sdcard root (it should like this /sdcard/bootmenu)
-turn on usb debuging
-do this from terminal emulator or with adb in command prompt:
Code:
$ su [COLOR="Gray"](look up your phone immediately, allow root access)[/COLOR]
# cp -R /sdcard/bootmenu /data/bootmenu
# cd /data/bootmenu
# chmod 755 *
# ./install.sh
[COLOR="gray"]--------- it should says installation done and says please reboot. but don't reboot now.[/COLOR]
# rm -R /data/bootmenu
--------- reboot now
12. you will automaticaly go to bootmenu, choose boot, and set the default boot to 2ndInit
13. go back, go to recovery>custom recovery: wipe data, then wipe cache
14. choose install zip from sdcard, choose CM7 beta5 zip
15. choose install zip from sdcard again, choose google apps zip
16. reboot system now, first boot seems much longer
17. it's done.
if you want to go back to eclair
1. turn off usb debuging,
2. copy nandroid backup of your ECLAIR to sdcard, put it in /sdcard/clockworkmod/YourEclairNandroidFolder (must "clockworkmod" not "goapkrev")
3. reboot phone
4. have a attention, when blue lights is on while motorola logo shows, immediately press vol.down
-you will go to bootmenu, go to recovery>custom recovery
-wipe data then wipe cache
-choose restore, choose your eclair nandroid backup
5. choose reboot system now, BUT IMMEDIATELY go to bootloader (press and hold vol.up immeditely after phone reboot)
6. defy is in bootloader state, connect usb, open RSD-Lite 4.9 to flash the Fixed SBF of your Eclair Build 2.51 Aus Red Bull
(must a same build number with your nandroid backup, i can't find a link for that build number)
7. let the process begins and wait untill phone fully starts
8. it's done.
now you back on Eclair
thank you very much

good job with this, I do prefer your DroidX one though
very nice work!
Love this theme, looks great. Only thing, is there a way to make the text on the pop up buttons when you hit the menu button white? As it is when u press the menu button they are black and you can't see them to read them when you press menu (except when you long press a button). No biggie just wondering if it was possible. Thanks.

- Optimized to save system space
- Tweaks to increase smoothness/performance/battery life
- Removed Chinese Bloat-ware
- Apple Boot Logo
Applications
- GO Launcher EX 2.71 BETA
- ROM Toolbox
- ROOT Explorer
- Script Manager
- Titanium Backup
THESE ARE NOT THE FULL VERSIONS, IF YOU WANT THE PAID VERSIONS BUY THEM.
How To Install
I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR ACTIONS, IF YOU BRICK YOUR PHONE THAT'S YOUR FAULT.
1. Root your device using 'SuperOneClick' [LINK]
2. Copy the contents of 'CWRecovery.zip' and copy the 'custom.zip' to the root of your /sdcard/ (Mount USB via Phone)
3. Now you need to use ADB, I'm going to assume you know how to use it.
Code:
adb shell
su
/sdcard/flash_image recovery /sdcard/CW45.IMG
recovery
If you get permission denied then use 'SuperOneClick' to gain 'Shell Root'
4. You should now be in ClockWorkMod Recovery, YAY! You're going to want to use your phones Volume buttons to navigate the menu. To Enable the menus functionality you will have to press the volume keys as follows.
Code:
+ - + -
You should now see
Code:
Back menu button enabled.
5. Now to install the ROM, you probably want to wipe your Dalvik-Cache (advanced menu) before flashing it. After that scroll down to 'install zip from sdcard' and 'choose zip from sdcard'. From there select 'custom.zip' and flash it.
6. Once that has done, pick 'reboot system now' and wait for your phone to boot. (First boot might take a while)
Download
custom.zip
CWRecovery.zip
