My left speaker does not work as well. Considering replacing but I have no light bleed, do not know if it is worth risk.

I have this problem also. My right speaker no long works but the headphone and HDMI works fine.
I think the only thing to do is an RMA at this point??

I'm in the same boat. I got my rma from Asus, but I have no confidence in their ability to support this product. I have to send it to them next week, and I'm sure my feelings about this tablet will turn sour during the wait period to get it back. Since I have no other hardware issues, I'm dreading that my tablet will return to me with a new problem(s). :-(
Sent from my Transformer TF101 using XDA Premium App

I think it's software related not hardware. I lost my left speaker too but it's back! I have been flashing Roms all day and clearing user data and all. I never tested the speakers until tonight and both are at default levels (sounds equal on both side). I also flashed the netformer experimental kernel. So I have prime 1.3_us with netformer kernel. Not sure what fixed it but I will monitor it.

This boat is crouded.
I too have the problem with speaker imbalance. When playing music I can watch the speaker output gauge thingy and it does not match what is coming out of the speakers. The right side is definitely louder. Or the left is less loud. I don't know which statement would be correct since I don't know the correct sound output. Apparently this is a common problem. I sent my tf101 for repair after one day of ownership. Mailed yesterday. I will let you know if they fixed the problem. You would think there would be some sort of quality control on this. I guess a lot of units would not pass inspection. Anyone else send theirs in and get it back yet?

Vibrate is getting progressively WEAK

Hey guys. This phone has been great, but now I've just started noticing this problem. The vibrate is getting progressively weaker. You can even "hear"/notice it when, let's say, the phone is ringing, the vibrate will sort of "level" down.
I downloaded an app to test vibration, and it seems to be random and getting weaker. Also, when the phone rings, sometimes, while vibrating it will "hiccup".
What is causing this? Battery? My phone is perfect except this. I REALLY don't want to go back to stock and have to return the phone.
What rom. And kernel are you using? I thought I was having the same problem but it was because I was undervolting

Absolutely no undervolting here; I can tell you that with 100% certainty. I'm using CM7 with default kernel.
At one point I DID mess with the LordMod kernel and install a UV script, but after that I didn't like it (it wasn't smooth as CM7 kernel default), so I did a nandroid restore to an earlier point when I wasn't using it, so I assume the entire system including kernel included was restored.
Yeah your kernel was restored too. Hold the volume down button for 3 seconds. How weak does it feel?
Sent from my HTC Desire HD using XDA Premium App
It vibrates, albeit weakly, and vibrates sort of "rough". It even skips while vibrating. Sounds like it's missing (sort of like when a car engine misfires) .
how do you take vibrate off in all settings I thought I did but when I answer the phone it will vibrate and when I use the calculator
Maybe it needs a tune-up?

It's getting more ridiculous. It sputters like a car that has bad spark plugs (analogy).
I contacted AT&T and they are shipping me a replacement. I will report when I get it.
I had a similar problem with my Atrix except it was the keyboard and haptic feedback that was completely giving out. I hope my Inspire doesn't start acting up, I got it off Craigslist not at&t
Sounds like hardware. I.e , the the little motor that spins the little off-center weight that results in the vibration might be going bad :-(. Hope I'm wrong.

If you're into this sort of thing...
First time ive heard about this kind of problem, sounds like your hardware is getting down. Better get it checked if you still have its warranty.

Update: got the replacement. The replacement works perfectly. It is definitely a hardware issue.
So anyone in the future who has this issue, get your phone replaced!!!
Mine has been seeming to get louder, sometimes when typing its almost overwhelmingly loud.
Ehhh... got lucky...

speaker unbalance still

After upgrading to 3.2, it seemed that it fixed my speaker unbalance but i noticed that its still louder on the right side. I thought the upgrade was suppose to fix?
my update didn't fix it either, but it sure made it better!
The update did have changes to the .cfg file and did make it better. I did change the gain on my left speaker by 3db and it is great now. See how to to this by a quick search, very easy if you're rooted, a bit more work if not. Cheers.
Im still within the exchange period from Toys r Us. The only issue I have is the speaker. The screen bleed I can live with....Its a B5 series . I wonder if I should exchange it for a B6 and hopefully B7 (but I dont think they will have).
how can you tell if one speaker is lower than the other? I honestly cannot tell the difference when I play movie. Is there any app to test it? Thanks

On mine using this test (youtube) my right speaker was a lil bit louder then the left, but when i listening to music I noticed that the sound is actually coming from the middle (balanced) before the right was always louder then the left.

So its not working ?
Touch works
Charging works
USB works
Only keys doesn't seems to respond
Can it be due to revolver Rom or is it the keyboard problem?
I got it today and i was really happy and now its this little problem

You can try another rom but I personally concur with GoodIntentions' post.

I had a bad one first too. Apparently there is a rather high defect rate on some of the serial numbers. I sent it in for repair and they sent it back and it lasted less than a day before it died again. Then they just sent me a new one with a much higher serial number and it works great.
This is not a software problem. You have a defective product. Exchange immediately.
Where did your folks get it from? Go right back there and exchange for another one. Do not RMA. Waste of time. Just get something new.
Always get your products from trusted retailers! And what are the first 3 characters on the dock's serial number ?
Think it was B90 and it was from a trusted store
I will send it back as fast as i come home from Mexico

[Q] Weird sound?

Hi all! Just got my tf300 and I like it very much although I noticed a strange sound sometimes.
When starting an app a "whining" sound comes from "the left lower corner" but when I get back to the homescreen It goes away.
I thought maybe it's from the "harddrive" or something.
Could smebody check this on their tf300's and report back (You really have to listen quite close)
Thanks!

My tf300tg has very similar issue, strange sound(like electric), I thought it's made by internal storage. Sound comes after some time after it's fully charged. If I go to homescreen it goes away
This topic is quite old but I also realized that its the flash memory and it also goes away when getting back to homescreen

yea i got the same thing on my tf300t but i am quite sure it comes from the dock, if you press the bottom against your ear (where you connect the power cable) you can hear the buzzing. Im guessing it caused by capacitors? If anyone got a fix i would love to hear it as it tend to annoy me a bit

Volume boost

Does anyone know an app that would boost the volume. It's not very loud stock.
Sent from my ASUS Transformer Pad TF700T using Tapatalk 2
Volume+ works for me. Pay for it though, the +4dB limit in the free version doesnt cut the mustard. I pushed mine up to about 18 -- which makes things nice and loud, but not distorted,

So before I buy, you can confirm that works for your tablet correct? I ask because both free and pay talk about it working on GB. Skimming the notes I didn't see anything about root,so just checking stock rom non root works (for you)
Sent from my ASUS Transformer Pad TF700T using Tapatalk 2
I can confirm that the paid version of Volume+ *does* work on the TF700. Just be careful and don't set it too high or you can blow the speaker!
Sent from my ASUS Transformer Pad TF700T using Tapatalk 2
The free version works on mine too, I can hear the difference in the movies already, will definitely consider buying this app.
So how high should I turn it up without hurting anything? I set it to +8. It is louder but not loud enough.

As long as you don't hear your speakers distorting, you should be fine. But, if you hear distortion, it may be too late as well.... Just be careful. I think I have mine @ +10db, but it really depends on the app - some apps output much louder sounds than others. So you just need to be careful and set the volume low enough when you start an app, and then increase the volume it until it's loud enough...

I use Equalizer and it works great! Love that you can not only boost the volume but shape the sound to your liking. As with all volume boosters, be careful not to blow out your speakers.

I couldn't hear a difference between using this app or not. Same with Volume+
Sent from my ASUS Transformer Pad TF700T using xda app-developers app
FYI - In order to "activate" Volume+ in ICS after installation, you need to enter Settings->Sounds->Music Effect and select "Volume+" (it stays defaulted to "MusicFX" after installing Volume+, which is the Android sound system).
Once you tell ICS to actually use Volume+, you will definitely hear a difference (not sure about the free version at only +4 DB, but the paid version definitely makes it louder!!).

Ahh, that may be my problem.
EDIT: Yes, that allowed me to use Volume+. Now it is perfectly loud, using the Free version and pushing it +4 Db. Any more would be too much for me. Ironically, the only thing I had on my Google Music Cloud (I'm doing a little maintenance with metadata) was some Slayer...and when I hit that +4 button that hurt lol.
THANK YOU!
Sound still not as good as it was on my Tab with its separated speakers but at least its loud enough now!

I cant wait to try this out. Thats one welcomed improvement. Do you think I can set this up with Equalizer app aswell. I only ask because I have already purchased the Equalizer app. I haven't gotten my replacement infinity yet so I can't try it. Tuesday is so close but yet so far lol.

Agree with that point. The speakers on the Tab 10.1 on opposite sides of the screen are great when watching movies. That's the only flaw that I find with the Infinity. Luckily I got a 'good' one that doesn't have any of the problems that a lot of people are having with the hardware - but I'm also one that can't get the OTA or Unlock tool to work.

I'm a "prospective" Transformer Infinity owner. At this point this is the one I'm looking at.
Here's how I usually get a good bit of extra volume from my devices that have the speaker on the back. I suspect this would help with the Transformer Infinity too. Cuff your hand on the rear side of the device where the speaker is, so your hand is not covering the speaker, but directing the audio towards you instead of away from you.
If I get this pad and feel the need I might try something such as Volume +, but the hand cuff method is effective without any harmful side effects . (I'll probably just end up continuing with the hand cuff method, since I'm so used to doing it  .)

If you do buy the infinity I can bet money that if your room isn't silent while your watching a movie or listening to music you will buy this app it works well.

Ha, I do this all the time too. I still use Volume+, but the cupped hand to redirect the sound works well too. The even made unpowered docks for some phones that worked on this principle, I think Belkin made one.
Cup method works but watch a movie while doing the cup and its gonna cramp your hand abit.
The speaker is good if your at a desk and the sound bounces off something which I'm never at a desk. I'm always in a chair and the speaker points away.
