i´m sure about this is the problem... when you changes your rom by another.... you must to do full wipes because the apk´s must "zipalign" again and busibox its new too...
can you enter to recovery menu????you can recover your sistem from here....
EDITkay i´ve just read your xoom post...
enter into recovery menú flah the rom again step by step but DO FULL WIPE BEFORE FLASH AND AFTER FLASH

i am able to connect it to my pc and run commands via the fastboot protocol support.. but i am not sure what to do. can you help me from here?
i am using the wifi only xoom, which i think dont have the recovery menu however i have fastboot protocol support which i dont know if will work flashing files, although i could do a reboot from command line now
EDIT
Boy oh boy am i a happy person today. after all the things thats been going on with my xoom;. i thought i nearly bricked it.
i am very fortunate of 2 things mainly,
got it to reflash via fastboot, (downloaded US stock flash files from motorola site)
reboot and voila!...
not just that.. moments later. i got OTA 3.1 update via wifi!!!! yay... i am so happy i nearly cried
after all the hassle wanting to upgrade to 3.1 without the OTG cable, i went and flashed 3 or 4 tiamat versions today before soft bricking the xoom.! phewwww that was so close
if anyone wants to ask me in detail of how i recovered. pls feel free to PM me...
thanks all
not i guess its time to install clockworkmod and lets see if tiamat 1.4.2 will be a successfull install

Finally you solved it or you haven't the fastboot parameters??your last thread its too harsh for to me,dificult i've a poor english...
If you need suport for recover your xoom i'm going back to home in a few hours.. 3-4.... And nicely i will answer your SHORT QUESTIONS lol

I'm just curious - what are your thoughts on the new 3.1 now that you're up and running?

[GUIDE] How to fix "Failed image LNX 0x0002 / RSD mode 2

I'm sure theres a few of you out there who've bricked their Xoom in the same way I did:
Locking the boot loader after having custom rom and kernal running on it or something similar and come across an error upon boot that says
Failed image LNX 0x0002
RSD mode 2 initiated
or something to that respect
Then tried to do fastboot oem unlock, only to have the Xoom not be recognised.
The solution for me was to make a Motorola Factory cable as per guide here
For some reason, the Xoom would be instantly recognised by my computer and all fastboot commands would work, as well as RSD Lite (Did not do me any good as there is no Xoom Wifi SBF released)
That should fix the booting problem
If it still does not, follow one of the other guides on how to flash using fastboot, another rom now that you have fastboot working again!
Cheers!

So I went and bought the factory cable from the Black Hat guys, and luckily haven't had the need to use it. Any advice you'd like to give in case I need to at some point?
I guess the only advice I can give is: don't re-lock the boot loader when you have a custom rom loaded
You don't need the cable. I have recovered 4 times myself and walked many others through on irc. We all use the stock cable that came with the device.

It wouldn't recognise any fastboot commands nor the RSD Lite program for me.
But if it does, then thats good.
Merely a heads up for those who were in the same situation I was

you won't care to share how you did it? You have no idea how frustrating it is to see someone say they know how to fix something and leave it it at that.

Over the course of a few hours I was able to fix this, so I am going to write this little walkthrough for you using a rom from bwcorvus's page (CLICK HERE) and then used the guide from dirtymindedx -(CLICK HERE)
The reason it took me this long (as well as doing other things) was because I used the wrong set up to unroot my tablet. I was using the Unofficial images that are on bwcorvus's link. Because I didn't read thoroughly enough in his breakdown, I made myself look like a fool...
What you want is NOT

because you will not be able to lock the bootloader (IF you want it to be that way, which I did, and so it gave me a 0x000004 Error, and yes i see that you are having a 0x000002 but somewhere i read this could help that.) I just wanted to get rid of Clockwork Recovery Manager cause it was not working on my 3.2 rooted tablet, and thought that because i messed up teh whole image with playing around and upgrading and seeing how i could break the image without overclocking, i thought i should actually try and make it back to stock too. With this... I needed to do these steps...
1. Upgrade the Motorola drivers while the XOOM was plugged in, so then I would be able to use the Fastboot Correctly.
2. Download the correct roms for my tablet, (Wi-Fi is mine, just grab the one that fits your version and just follow along.)
3. Upgrade my ADB from google because for soem odd reason my fastboot did not like the xoom till i did that...
4. Used the STOCK CABLE. I can Confirm that the STOCK CABLE that allows you to recharge the phones, WILL WORK for this...
5. Once the ADB was set up, I restarted it, aka Hit the red X and then loaded it back up and then closed it again, just to make sure the services were updated somewhat...
6. Opened Command prompt and navigated to the folder that help the zipfile for the fastboot flashing guide (aka dirtymindedx's guide at the top), be using CD (Drive Letter):/location/of/the/folder/that/is/unzipped
7. I then checked over the information in the folder by using dir /a and then proceeded to read through the guide
7-1. A note here... I did the fastboot erase userdata instead, because I wanted to see if it would brick it again... (sorry, I was in a fowl mood with the world last night so I was waiting for it to get bricked so i had a reason to use it as an ice scraper on my car... (not like i would really do it... just wanted a reason for justification haha)
8. ???
9. Profit
This is only to get rid of a "already slightly bricked" device... which I had done after relocking the Rom that was not official to Motorola and now, after a few updates, i now have Android 4.0.3 for the Xoom that was OTA'ed, looking to see how easy it will be to root to reload my rpg game saves that i got caught up in (hence my disappearance from the forums haha...) but I hopefully helped you out in a direction to heads towards... and as long as you don't lock the boot-loader (which someone posted about it before i did...) you should be fine with any changes to the rom after the updates... Also, you can skip steps on this too... you can just flash the image and not the recovery menu and so forth, allowing you to keep other settings that are not part associated to the rom image.
Also sorry for the insanity in my words... I have been up for a good 36 hours with a half hour nap somewhere in there...

HELP!! No Android Recovery option

Hey Everyone,
Im new to android, and having a small issue, I am attempting to root my wifi xoom, I get up to the part where its time to select android recovery so that I can select the root zip, however when I use the volume down key to scroll the options the only 3 available are NVflash, RSD and Fastboot, theres no android recovery option I have searched the forums and googled it, but I seem to be the only one with this issue, my xoom is running 3.1 and bought in Aus, dont know if this makes a difference? any help would be greatly appreciated, I have got an OTG cable and would like to mount my external HDD so I need to get it rooted. Should probably mention I have unlocked it too.
Cheers
ha i just posted a thread with exactly the same issue. Hopefully one of us will get an answer!

Your post was already answered in the General section. No need to post twice.
The answer did not fix my problem however. Still stuck at the same place as before just like terreboo. Possibly theres an issue with this type of xoom? I bought mine in australia as well. According to my about tablet info it says this:
Firmware Configuration Version: GAS_ASIA_UCAHUBLWFRTIRD_P006 so im assuming this is an asian tab? Just wondering terreboo what does yours say under firmware configuration?
yeah sorry didnt mean to post it in the general section, I alerted it to the mods to delete they just havent got around to it yet, yeah mate I have the same version as you, although I doubt this is the reason, we cant be the only two in Aus trying to root them? I think the problem probably lies else where, it has been suggested I'm getting the timing wrong, so I'll try again and post back my progress or lack of.
---------- Post added at 10:01 PM ---------- Previous post was at 09:45 PM ----------
I have tried it 10+ times now, I'm confident its not the timing of pressing the down key on reboot having varied the length of time everytime I tried, possibly its because of the firmware version? Im at a loss, I have followed the instructions of the root guide to the letter and seem to be one of the only ones with this problem!
this is the guide im using
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1078019
Same problem here!
I have the same problem guys.. Any solution?? The developers some help??
Im using the same guide btw....
I've freaked out im trying this for 8 hours now and no results....
im having a similar problem that my factory reset is corrupt or something because it doesnt actually DO anything.
I did the long root method as opposed to the supposedly easier method and thank heavens I got through it unharmed. I was ****ting my pants the whole way through. I wish I were more savvy with this so I can offer help. If I were u guys I would PM the devs from TIAMAT. They are probably the most knowledgeable ppl here to ask.
solution
OK guys i have a solution a guy from #xoom channel told me to write in windows command line
abd recovery reboot
And it worked!
I'm currently posting this from my costum rommed xoom

Would that be adb recovery reboot? Can you give more information?
assuming you have adb setup on your computer already. Plug your xoom into your comp and make sure its in debug mode. Settings-applications-development. Open a command prompt and type in "adb reboot recovery" without quotes. Your device will then reboot into recovery mode.
I will say I'm having the same issue. I flash the new recovery and I don't see it in the menu. I'm running a US wifi xoom.

Yes that's right. I followed the guide and i waited 3 seconds but i never had the option 'android recovery so i turned on the device and this guy told me to run this command from cmd.
So after that xoom rebooted into clockwork recovery state and i flashed thecostum rom.
According to the guide that were using, if you allow the xoom to boot fully into honeycomb it reinstalls the stock recovery, and you need to redo the process all over. Also, you need to be in honeycomb to use the ADB command, if your in fastboot it won't detect the xoom. This did not work for me. Anyone else try it?
no luck for me here either. I can flash recovery successfully (according to the prompt) no problems there. I just have the exact same trouble booting into it as above.
Vol Down key combo doesn't work and if you leave the OS to boot straight after install, CWM is replaced by stock recovery. No fun at all.
Any further news or suggestions on this?

Just make sure that Rom Manager doesn't trick you into flashing a non-compatible updated recovery version.
In my experience it doesn't play well with the Xoom.
If all you want is a non manual way to boot into recovery from the OS, download Quick Boot (if rooted) or if you're already on the Tiamat Moray Rom, it's something you can choose when you press the power button on the back.
the problem is that for me and others with this issue, you can't use adb to boot recovery. If you install recovery from fastboot then boot into the regular OS without booting to recovery and rooting, the OS replaces CWM with the stock recovery. This means if you use adb or another app to reboot into recovery, you just get stock recovery which is totally useless. I can't load recovery or root using anay of the universal methods I have come accross. We need a way to boot into recovery without having it replaced with stock or another rooting method or something. Any other ideas?

Look, this is how I had to flash CWM image file- through adb,/fastboot just like you. No matter what you say, it comes down to a question of timing.
I'm not sure about everyone else with the no recovery option, but timing just isnt the issue for me. Without a lie i've tried to enter recovery over 50 times at various points, 95% of those attempts were at the 3 second mark that is stated in the xda guide we've been using. I'm aware of one other person here whos tried it MUCH more than me with exactly the same result.
However theres one thing that we could narrow it down with. Thus far the people having this issue are using the asian firmware xoom's. Could everyone else having this problem on this thread say whether or not theyre using the asian firmware too? Maybe the asian firmware can't be rooted this way?

Dude, you've got to be more specific. What 'files' did you delete, and did you wipe data via stock recovery or via CWM? Since you wiped data/factory reset your phone, and didn't flash a ROM or install the OTA, you have no system image, so of course it won't boot. What error message were you given when trying to update to ICS via the OTA?

Reading for comprehension is key. The posts concerning the logwrapper was for a specific problem pertaining to custom recoveries. Now you need to check out Apex_strider's noob thread and learn how to properly flash a fxz. Read read read then when you've done that read some more. And I mean all of it! do not take pieces of it like the logwrapper out of the context of the discussion. Understand the whole of how to do something before you attempt it.
i have tried doing fxz but its showing an error or step 6 and my battery is low now i put my phone on charge its not even charging seems like i have lost my phone
Here's your options
1 mcgyver method : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=892026
2 factory cable: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1392693
Edit: you could also purchase a standalone battery charger or find another A2 or a bionic will work to charge it in.
Another thing the OP could try is CFB's method using the DNA technique...

Stuck on M dual core screen
Hi all, I was trying to install the avatar v2.13 rom on my atrix 2, I went into recovery with the atrix 2 bootstrap recovery, backed up my current rom wiped everything and proceeded to install the rom. After it was installed, all I got was the M dual core screen folloed by a black screen and the M screen again. I'm running linux Zorin in my computer and i've looked allover the place for a solution to this. Can anyone please give me some guidance on to what to do to solve this dilema? Your help will be apreciated guys.

[Q] SOLVED: Help - KitKat upgrade from stock... ish.

So, I did a stupid thing this morning. I spent the last, probably, five hours backing up all of my apps and data from my TF300, and once that was all done, I wiped the data on my tablet. "What makes that stupid?" What makes that stupid is, it was a miracle that I ever actually managed to root this thing in the first place, and now, I don't know a) if it's still rooted (I doubt it), and b) if I'm even mentally capable of rooting it again (I doubt it).
So, here's my situation, and if someone could just dumb down the steps for me and point me in the right direction, that's all I need. I got my tablet, I don't know, probably early 2012. I can tell you that the tablet is on ICS 4.0.3, and the build number is 9.4.3.29-20120511. It's also unlocked, I don't know if that needed to be mentioned. Now, things are better since I wiped the data on this mother, but ICS, on this tablet in particular, is slow as balls, and I'm done with it, I want KitKat. But I am so far beyond lost after what I did that if I try to work my own way out of it, I'm going to brick this thing.
I wiped the data because I was trying to do something involving the Fastboot menu or something like that. Whenever I selected the USB icon and hit up on the volume strip, the tablet just locks cold. I figured whatever caused that, would probably go away with a data wipe. It didn't. So now my data's gone, my apps are gone, my tablet's not rooted anymore, I have no idea how to get to KitKat, I can't sleep at night, it burns when I pee... let's focus on the tablet stuff for now, I'm signed up to some forums for the other stuff.
I know most of the people that read this topic will be inclined to say, "You're an idiot, read this, this, and this, and take care of it yourself." I know I'm Androidiot, and I'm humbly asking for help. Again, I'm just petrified of following the wrong topic and ruining the whole thing, so if someone could tell me how I'd go about upgrading my tablet from stock ICS to KitKat, I'd appreciate the hell out of it.
Just a little bump, not too big... no love for Tim?
Normally, you need to install the latest stock ROM from ASUS in order to recover a functional device & by the way upgrade your bootloader.
Things done, you can proceed to install recovery and kitkat.
Better explanations here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=53738192&postcount=2

Thank you, Zlazaar!
Well, it seems that after my device was wiped, it still didn't remove CWM as a bootloader or whatever, I don't know what I'm saying. When I hold down the power and volume down buttons, I could wait like ten seconds for fastboot, or I could tap vol up to enter the "RCK" menu. I don't know what that means. But I go into it, and I'm at the CWM menu, I think it was 5.5.0.4. You probably know better than me if I need to do anything further than that with CWM, but I should be good on that, right?
I'm almost going to go to the sites that you mentioned to download files and get more information on how to use it all. I appreciate your help, because without it, I'm sitting on an unrooted stock ROM with only most of my apps, because oh yeah, like 70 apps forgot to transfer with that backup I did... so, whoopee.
Thank you again, buddy!
The goal is kitkat, right ?
So, in order to get it you need 2 important things :
1- The latest bootloader, yours can't handle kitkat.
2- a custom recovery supporting kitkat, i.e i'm using TWRP 2.7.1.0 (link in my signature), your CWM is outdated.
The only way i know to update the bootloader is to flash Stock ROM via fastboot as described in tutorial.
I got some really stupid questions... apparently it's been entirely too long since I've messed with any of this.
What's a bootloader? I know mine's unlocked, but I didn't know there were versions of it. Is it the blob file I got from Asus?
And I have my tablet hooked up to my PC, it's on the fastboot menu wait for input from USB. When I go to the command prompt, I've tried to push TWRP to the device, but when I start a command with "adb push," it just tells me that it doesn't know what to do with that command. Same thing happened with fastboot, but then I realize I didn't have fastboot installed, so I tried to install it and it complained about a missing dll file on my computer, and I think I'm about ready to give up. lol
Here is the driver : Universal Naked Driver
After install, you can use fastboot and complet other steps.

Ok Tim so the GOAL IS: 4.4 KITKAT CORRECT?
This is the process overview. This is a review.
Step 1 Upgrade the bootloader. Why? Inorder to flash a 4.4 rom you need a Jelly Bean 4.2 bootloader. How? Do as zlazarr suggests by flashing the lastest stock version V10.6.1.27.5 on your tf300t. Flashing the latest stock rom will update your bootloader. And here's another helpful guide.
http://www.theandroidsoul.com/how-to-restore-asus-transformer-tf300t-back-to-stock/ Remember that the SKU has to match!
Step 2 Follow this guide.
http://www.transformerforums.com/fo...nstall-roms-tf300-jelly-bean-kitkat-roms.html
It guides you on how to unlock your bootloader which you already have and it shows you how to install twrp. After installing twrp MAKE A BACKUP!
NOTE: If using the command method on the link fails repetitively use the app rashr to install the twrp version in the link
Step 3 Upgrade twrp to vr 2.7.0.0 or higher. Refer to step 2 link on the post about 4.4 kitkat.
Step 4 Install a 4.4 kk rom. I recomend the lastest snapshot of Cyanogen Mod 11. The download is on their wiki.
And then your done! Don't give up! The hardest part I find is using the command prompt! Look for work arounds. AND SEARCH FOR METHODS!

Okay, so I've started work on this finally, but I think I might be having some trouble. I flashed the latest stock ROM onto my baby and restarted the tab like the article said, but now it's taking a very long time to load. I don't know if it's supposed to be taking this long, considering I'm pretty sure it wiped the data on it (flashing a ROM wipes data, doesn't it?), so I'd assume that removing the weight of those apps would make startup lightning quick.
I have the ASUS logo and the spinny circle. And it's just spinning and spinning and spinning and spinning. Is this a problem?
I'm going to let it spin spin spin spin spin for like five more minutes, and then I might go cry for a while.
EDIT: I cried too soon, it loaded for a long time then came to a menu that says "Android is upgrading..." and it's optimizing the apps, or apptimizing, that were apparently NOT wiped when I flashed a new ROM. lol, so I'm back on track. So far, so good. Thank you for the detailed guide, I appreciate it!
Further edit: And I'm also done rooting and flashing to KK 4.4. Thank you for dumbass-proofing the process for me, it is incredibly highly appreciated. I didn't kill my tablet!

Hi Tim13,
I'm glad to hear that everything went well and my guide helped you!:good: And to answer your question flashing doesn't wipe your data. You have to manually wipe it. And lol:laugh::good: that you didn't kill your tab. I hope you find your tab faster and useful again!
It's just as slow and useless as it was. But honestly, the flashing process was fun, and I learned from it. Plus, TWRP and Cyanogen mod are awesome, and now I know that. lol
Great to see you up and running @Tim 13 :good:
Can you add SOLVED to the thread title
Thx Josh
No, I'm not gonna do that.
I'm just kidding. You're all right, darling. :good:
Edit: Actually, not being a douche, I can't figure out how to edit the thread title. I went to edit the first post and I can't change the title of the post... I'm gonna look around for how to do it a bit more but after that I'm gonna go to bed.
DOUBLE EDIT: Got it, as you can see. Thanks to all that helped out!

Looking for one as well. I have not found one.
Recovery is actually preinstalled
I found this just tooling around. Use your favorite file browser, I used
Total commander. /system/vender/itson
The zip file is there. Hope this helps. (Rooted LG ls620)
Could you explain in a little better detail on what you mean Enigmatic177... I'm pulling my hair out Hehe
If anyone makes or finds a working recovery please post it.
Itson is a zip file that was installed after last update it has the basics to unlock the boot loader. I unpacked it used Rom toolbox pro rebooted to RECOVERY did regular reboot system upgraded.
A couple if bit mapp errors 11111. Then I basically flashed CWM.
Before you do this the partitions change from ext2-ext4. I'd advise
Backing them up.

TWRP recovery help L620 LG Realm
hello I followed the steps in the read me file and i succeeded in installing twrp although im having troubles booting up to my system os. when i power on my device it takes me straight to twrp. i have a feeling i might of missed a step. i tried creating a backup but i cant because i noticed my screen turns off fast. do you think you might know what might be the problem why i cant boot up to my os? thanks!
I think i know what seems to be the problem. I think i might have accidentally replaced the boot img with the twrp recovery img. i did not make a backup before this happened. is there anything i can do to make my phone boot up to its normal image? thanks
Nope. It is officially a paperweight and no one I know of has access to the stock ROM either.
Sent from my LGLS620 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Hey
Has anybody found a custom rom?
Finally. Easy as pie
Ok, I downloaded an image (w5c_twrp_bumped.img)
put that img on the root of my sd card
downloaded Rashr from the google play store
opened rashr and tapped 'recovery from storage', navigated to external sd and tapped the image and tapped
ýes please'
flashed it. after the flash the phone rebooted into the twrp recovery.
then just rebooted back into the system
worked perfectly.
im new here im not allowed to post outside links yet, just google "w5c_twrp_bumped.img" should take you to a link for a download of that recovery
i got twrp now as a custom recovery. on my lg realm.

You have the bumped recovery so all i can say if u messed up is to flash a stock rom u can find on google i had to re flash mine a few times messing with root
right on, thanks for the info. I had no problems at all. it all fell in place like i was hoping. The Realm is the easiest device Iv ever rooted, flashed, and messed with. Well, as far as rooting and flashing a custom recovery. dunno bout roms though. Im sure its simple?

OK, I grabbed and extracted this. I used Flashify to simply flash the recovery (w5c_twrp_bumped.img) and it works like a dream on my LG Realm.
OTOH, trying the same on an Exceed 2 gets me TWRP, but it cannot mount much of anything and the backup fails. After failing, it tells me "No OS found, continue?" I continue and get the message "Appears your device has no Root, install now?' I am absolutely certain I have root, or wouldn't even be able to run Flashify, so I continue and it simply boots into the OS just fine. Perhaps the readme isn't complete, as I see the following file in the extracted folder (resources.zip) with no explanation of why it's there. It "appears" to be a flash-able zip that installs "itson" (whatever THAT is). Note that the Realm has this in the /system/vendor/itson, yet the Exceed 2 doesn't.
Have you actually used this on an Exceed 2? And if so, what am I missing here?

I'll do you one better. Just forget about the post you replied to, as it's convoluted as hell. Install TWRP 2.8.6 from here. Ignore the big red warning about the Realm, as he evidently hasn't updated the OP. You can view my notes regarding the Realm in this reply. Tested several times and verified working better than anything else available. Easiest recovery to install I've ever dealt with (all done with an .apk). The option to access via cold boot (battery pull procedure) is something to behold
Be sure to thank the developer, even if you need to create an account to do so. Very VERY nice work!

THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Before you replied I installed the version 2.8.5 from here:
http://androidforums.com/threads/twrp-2-8-5-0-for-realm-ls620-and-exceed-2-vs450pp.908704/
Is 2.8.6 better? Looks like the 2.8.5 can't be booted into via key combo from power off? Are there any other differences? I just used the Rashr flash tool from the market to flash 2.8.5. Worked flawlessly. This is actually my mom's phone and it wanted to do a system upgrade but I wanted to back it up first so that's the reason I wanted a recovery.
Pretty cool though, this recovery installs just via an APK!!!? That's amazing!
I'm tempted to install this on her phone next time she comes over... it should be fine right?
Thanks again!!!!!!!!!!

That one will cold boot with the battery pull procedure too. A little further down that thread you'll see I modded it to work correctly with the Exceed 2 in addition to the Realm. I like the 2.8.6 better if only that the dates of the backup are correct now. The 286.apk will work fine and overwrite your current recovery. If you leave it installed, you can always open it and reboot to recovery from within the app. If I have more time I'll post a screenshot, but running late for work. I think the screen dimming/timeout issue was fixed as well, but I haven't verified that. I normally disable that in TWRP anyway, as I like to monitor what it's doing during a backup/restore in case of errors.
