[Q] Rooted HTC EVO - Can I sync with outlook? - Android Software/Hacking General [Developers Only]

Hi all, I apologize if this has been asked somewhere. If so please direct me to a link as I couldnt find the answer.
I have recently rooted my HTC EVO with unrevoked. As you experts know to do this I need to UNINSTALL the HTC Sync software and install some custom Windows drivers that the phone connects with.
My QUESTION:
How can I now sync the phone with outlook (for calendar and contacts) as I did with HTC sync? Do I simply reinstall HTC sync?
Will that mess up the other Windows driver in case I need to unroot the phone at a later date?
If I am able to reinstall HTC sync, do I have to uninstall/remove the other driver first?
Thanks so much for any assistance.

I THINK that works, if I'm not mistaken that is what I did. I did the unrevoked root back in march and I have since been able to sync so I can only assume that was what I did. I have recently had some weird issues with my phone so I was reinstalling everything and came across this issue again, and was trying to find a definitive answer. I don't understand why your question wasn't answered, it seems to be hard to get an answer if you don't have several posts, but you have to ask stupid questions to get there. Obviously I don't think yours is a stupid question, but apparently the phone gods didn't find it worthy enough for an answer.....

HTC HD mini wont send SMS

I have had my HTC HD mini for about a week and is the first time I have used a HTC and a smart phone in general.
The issue I'm having is that sometimes when I try and send a SMS message it wont send and just sitting in my outbox, but this only appears to happen to some contacts (I did check the numbers first) I have done some research on the web and looked on these forums, and have found many different hints and tips but have become confused with some of the jargon used, can someone please post some help or a link to a patch that I could install to fix this?
The phone is brand new, no apps installed and running on Windows 6.5.3
Cheers

[Q] Transferring contacts via bluetooth

So, I flashed my Sensation XE to the ARHD ROM, in which I totally did not do any backup. I lost my contacts and all, but I have backup on another phone.
I remember that when I first load up Sensation XE with stock ROM (S-ON, no rooting and all), at the setup configuration, there's this option to transfer contacts from an old phone via bluetooth. I believe the ARHD did not do the same when it first load up. I've looked around the settings, contacts, people and just couldn't find it. I would really appreciate your help guys.
and, I did use the search function, and even the results after typing out the title, yet couldn't find my answer. Please help. Thank you!
Download Google sync to your old phone.
Umm, but my old phone is a Blackberry Bold 2.
Edit: Okay it does works for Blackberry and every other mobile! Thank you so much!

HTC Sync Manager **FINALLY** released

It's out for the One series of phones only. I can't get it to recognize my device (running BlackDragon v5), but it's out nonetheless. Revisit that old annoying "coming soon" page and you'll find it. Just wanted to throw this out there since I didn't see a post in One S about it and I know many were waiting for it.
Thanks. It may be useful!
Denada...I was also interested to see that HTC apparently outsourced the build to Nero?? I like Nero so not a problem for me, but I'm interested to hear someone with a lot more knowledge than me weigh in on the tool, various merits/complaints and how it compares directly to the original HTC Sync app.
ive been trying to sync my phone with this new software but everytime i try to synce my music nothing happens. Ive checked all my settings and they are correct i would like to know if anybody else is having problems with this and how they might of got round this problem?
you can delete this post solved it.

htc sync version 900

Hi there, I noticed this app in my downloaded apps section in the system settings. Don't recall downloading it specifically and searched on google and here didnt turn anything up. Can anyone confirm if this is a legit app? Is it the HTC sync that is installed when installing drivers/adb (as part of the rooting process etc)? If thats it then fine, but wanted to check it out as it has access to a lot of information. The app is 1.21Mb in size.
Im rooted and s-off'd and running virtuous inquisition rom. Grateful if someone could provide clarification.

Did anyone ever get back to you on this? I had to re-root my htc evo 4g and the rom I used has htc sync 900. It won't sync and my laptop htc sync program produces unknown error 1000.
Any clues?
Thanks,
Eric

I have been having the same problem, im on a un-rooted htc sensation. I uninstalled the htc sync version 900 from the phone and then tried syncing with the computer. It worked first time once that was gone. Hope that helps
