If you never had a Samsung Galaxy phone yet, coming from HTC, you will be disappointed. HTC's build quality is MUCH MUCH better compared to Samsung's lightweight plastic and material

My only question is why this isn't posted in the infuse forum..
http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1158
This is the inspire forums.
Enjoy yer crapsong.....Or somthing
I don't known if it was just the display model but I thought it sucked.
Screen looked like crap, exactly like a Craptivate with a huge screen.
I was used the browser to look at xda and the experience was terrible.
Maybe it was just that model, I don't know.
The 2 nice things I noticed that sideloading was enabled and as big as the screen was, it didn't feel as big as it really was.

I tried a infuse that actually was working. My buddy bought one and he said its better cuz its light weight. Let me tell you, just like sgs, this phone feels like a cheap pos. This phone has a great screen but ill take build and quality over that screen anyday. His gps would reset using gps status app and it took atleast 76 seconds to lock on cold reset. Horrible and I'm in Dallas. Save the money,Samsung needs to stick with tvs and blu ray players. My two cents

...on my sons brand new htc sensation! I had a g1 before I picked up the vibrant last July. COMPLETELY forgot how fast and accurate htc's gps is. I'm in my house and it follows me around within approximately 10 feet. The vibrant on the other hand STILL takes forever to find a sat and then I'm lucky if it's within 50 feet. No contest.
The only strong point of samsung is the "vibrant" screen. But, it kills battery life and the qhd on the sensation is sharper even if not as vibrant.
That's my review. Goodbye samsung. Then again I won't upgrade for a year, so who knows!
But, so far, HTC is my next.

Exactly! I've been trying to justify a tablet and for me it just doesn't make sense. Anything I want to do that requires a bigger screen (than 4/4+ inches) I'd also want a keyboard. So, yeah, I kinda don't get the tablet craze.

Their quality sucks in regards to what? Their mobile processors that have been leading the pack since the Hummingbird? Or their NAND memory that every other manufacture wants for their device? Oh wait. I know. Its their cameras eveb though Engadget just said the GSII has a better camera than any other phone in history besides the N95.
The SGSII actually has longer battery life than any Android device so far. I can also tell you that eveb though the phones are light, it does not mean their not durable. My Vibrant lasted through several drops and over 50 house fires. In those fires it got wet most of the time. My Nexus One however only survived 4 fires before it broke due to water damage. The phone would still turn on but the touch screen wouldn't work and I could see some water under the display. In the end, Samsung uses plastic for a reason. Cell signal along with WiFi signal more readily pass through it than it does through metals.

Station11 in Croydon pa my dads a little older now LOL so he's fire police now still fights the fires here and there and goes on calls, and my brother n law is the chief
Long story short: I am on my third Infuse with constant dropped calls. ATT has now offered to replace my phone.
Any thoughts on what to get. I think my options are:
Atrix 2
LG Nitro
Captivate slide (really miss the physical keyboard)
Skyrocket
S2
The Nitro and Skyrocket seem to have some pretty stellar reviews.
I think the Atrix still has a locked bootloader.
The Slide has the keyboard I have been missing since I got the Infuse.
And the S2 has a smaller screen
Any thoughts on any of these phones?
Thanks in advance for your thoughts.

From what I've read, all Samsung devices using the Qualcomm chip instead of the Exynos have screen tuning issues. Either way, I would take an Infuse first and the SGS2 second.
wow, no one is giving any love to the nitro. the more reviews I read, the more I am liking it. anyone care to elaborate on the reasons for the s2 or rocket instead of the nitro? reviewing the specs, the nitro seems just as tricked out as the others and even better speced on several fronts. not trying to start a war, just trying to figure out how to best take advantage of att's "generosity".

I'm wondering if there's something wrong with the network where you are - does it always drop in the same place?
No one else has had the problems you have had, and for it to happen with three devices says "network" to me.
I never had a problem with dropped anything while driving - http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0011GI94Q means it's extremely rare to ever have less than 3-4 bars anywhere when behind the wheel.
(I live in the boonies - I often go through areas where no phone ever has coverage, but with the Wilson I'll still usually have 3-4 bars in those places. It has more than exceeded my expectations.)

I remember when I first got my infuse, I was pretty skeptical Scott Android because I was an iPhone user. The one thing you'll notice about the infuse if how ginormous it is compared to other phones. And with that ginormous size comes with a gorgeous screen along with a very very lightweight device. You'll learn to love this beat and when you compare this phone to other phones, you'll notice that nothing can compare to Samsung's super amoled plus screen. The infuse really is an amazing device and I hope you can enjoy it as much as we do.

Wicked excited, just ordered the Infuse, should be here within 3-4 business days!
Thank god it's Monday!
Can't wait to try out some Infuse roms/themes!
Anyone have any suggestions on a good Infuse rom?

You made the right choice assuming you knew what you were looking for.
I did a straight trade on my iPhone 4 32G for the Infuse 4G and could not have been more satisfied. I also just purchased a Galaxy Nexus a few days ago and also preferred the Infuse in a number of ways. I ended up selling the GN and keeping the Infuse 4G, I kid you not!
A few selling points... (If I was to compare the Infuse VS the GN for example)
The GN has a higher pixel density but the Infuse has a better overall screen than the Galaxy Nexus, due to Super AMOLED Plus, the GN still uses a Pentile based Display, a big disappointment in my opinion.
The Infuse also has a Wolfson Microelectronics WM8994 DAC and clearly beats the heck of the GN in terms of audio quality(and the Galaxy S2 as a matter of fact). Just look up Voodoo sound and the mastermind behind it, Supercurio to help you understand it. Or check out this article for an interesting read:

Infuse also has Gorilla glass, a much better capacitive and sensitive touch screen, expandable memory, comparable camera... I could go on and on...
To answer your questions about Roms, I'd recommend Cyanogen Mod 7, Revelation, Aeon, and Zeus for a start.
I typically switch back and fourth between the 4 of them, hope that helps.
